SOTU Backspin

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at January 28, 2010 5:05 AM

VH, TMH and I talked about liveblogging the SOTU, but only MaryHunter had the stomach for it. So, we decided to take a pass. I spent most of the SOTU chatting with an old friend on Facebook and cataloging my vast collection of midget pron by age, race, gender and physical handicap. I did follow another blog's liveblog and so can sum up Chairman Zero's speech in one haiku:

Our country's problems
Everybody's fault but mine
I'm just that awesome

The Republicans have had absolutely no power in Government since Al "ACORN" Franken gave the Democrats a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, but, absurdly, Obama is still claiming that Republican "rejectionists" have halted his agenda and caused all of our country's problems.

But the most absurd line had to be this one:

I've called for a bipartisan, Fiscal Commission, modeled on a proposal by Republican Judd Gregg and Democrat Kent Conrad. This can't be one of those Washington gimmicks that lets us pretend we solved a problem.

The guy who invented "jobs created or saved" and the spending freeze that doesn't freeze any actual spending is simpering about "Washington gimmicks?" What's next, a lecture on marital fidelity from John Edwards?

The Neverending Bullsh-t.

BTW, the amen corner at the blog that hates my guts loved the speech, and singled out "the way he chastised SCROTUS" for special praise. C'mon guys. "SCROTUS." That's pretty juvenile for a bunch of people who think they're better than me.
