SEC Gets Super Cereal About Manbearpig

From the "You Have Got to be Effing Kidding Me" File:
The (Securities and Exchange Commission), in a 3 to 2 vote, decided to require that companies disclose in their public filings the impact of climate change on their businesses -- from new regulations or legislation they may face domestically or abroad to potential changes in economic trends or physical risks to a company.
As Dennis the Peasant points out, these are the same SEC morons who sat back and did nothing while Bernie Madoff scammed people for billions, and now they are participating on the side of the Global Warming scam. Bernie Madoff is looking at Al Gore and the rest of the charlatans right now and going, "Climate Change! Why didn't I think of that?"
I have to wonder, does this also make companies that don't accurately predict the weather open to shareholder lawsuits? That would be a boon for the litigation industry, and therefore a disaster for everybody else.
OTOH, investors probably should be fairly warned about impending Climate Change regulations before their companies are bankrupted by them.
Time to play the clip again.
