Scott Brown Pulls Ahead

Posted by Dave Blount at January 15, 2010 8:14 AM

A Massachusetts miracle is about to pull America back from the very brink of the abyss. Scott Brown has surged ahead of Obamunist nitwit Martha Coakley in the erstwhile People's Republic of Massachusetts:

Riding a wave of opposition to Democratic health-care reform, GOP upstart Scott Brown is leading in the U.S. Senate race, raising the odds of a historic upset that would reverberate all the way to the White House, a new poll shows.
Although Brown's 4-point lead over Democrat Martha Coakley is within the Suffolk University/7News survey's margin of error, the underdog's position at the top of the results stunned even pollster David Paleologos.
"It's a Brown-out," said Paleologos, director of Suffolk's Political Research Center. "It's a massive change in the political landscape."
The poll shows Brown, a state senator from Wrentham, besting Coakley, the state's attorney general, by 50 percent to 46 percent, the first major survey to show Brown in the lead.

This in a state that is only 15% Republican. But since Chokeley is still within the margin of error, if you haven't contributed to this historic rally against collectivist tyranny, please do so now.

The stakes could not be higher. If Coakley wins, so does ObamaCare, which would mean a probably irreversible slide into socialism and very possibly national insolvency.

In other encouraging news, Comrade Obama appears to have prepared a place for Coakley under his bus:

With the election still four days away, Democrats are still hoping that "something could happen" to change the dynamics of the race. But until that thing happens, the situation as it exists today explains Barack Obama's decision not to travel to Massachusetts to campaign for Coakley. "If the White House thinks she can win, Obama will be there," the Democrat says. "If they don't think she can win, he won't be there." For national Democrats, the task is now to insulate Obama against any suggestion that a Coakley defeat would be a judgment on the president's agenda and performance in office.

That Obama, what a guy. Always sticking by his friends to the end. Already his toadies are croaking "who's Coakley?" and trying to spin this as if it has nothing to do with blocking Chairman Zero's radical left agenda.

Brown has been raking in endorsements with both arms. Here are former Pats QB Doug Flutie and comedian Lenny Clark:

Heroic pitcher Curt Shilling, who earned the grudging admiration even of Yankees fans by beating the Bombers in the 2004 ALCS with a shoe full of blood from an ankle injury, lays into Croakley:

Former Red Sox ace Curt Schilling ripped Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Martha Coakley today for dissing Fenway Park, saying her disdain made her seem "out of touch."
"That's exactly what I've come to expect from politicians. So many are so far out of touch with their constituents it's laughable and pathetic," Schilling told the Herald.
Schilling, who considered running for the U.S. Senate seat himself, recently endorsed GOP candidate state Sen. Scott Brown. He linked another blog post on his Web site 38pitches.com that slammed Coakley's Fenway flub even more.
"It's Massachusetts. You do not make sneering insults about Fenway Park. What's she going to do next, insult the Red Sox?" wrote blogger Cassy Fiano in a post linked on Schilling's site. "She's apparently been trying to win the title of Worst Political Campaign Ever."
Schilling highlighted the blog post following a Boston Globe article quoting Coakley's response to concerns that she hasn't been campaigning enough during the tight race.
"As opposed to standing outside Fenway Park? In the cold? Shaking hands?" Coakley was quoted saying, apparently referencing a Brown ad where he greets supporters outside Fenway.
Schilling, famous for helping the Red Sox clinch two World Series wins, also questioned Coakley's recent statements that terrorists have left Afghanistan.
"Her Taliban comment is the height of one of these three: ignorance, stupidity, (or) dishonesty," Schilling wrote.

If you haven't yet, it's not too late to join the (hopefully) winning team.
