Morning Briefs for Tuesday: Item 1

Left liberal blogger Matt Yglesias is aghast that 58% (70% according to Rasmussen) of Americans would rather pour water on a terrorist's nose for thirty seconds than see hundreds of innocent people blown up. Leftist liberals, of course, see it the other way around.
Sounds to me like another dim liberal defining torture as "any discomfort a terrorist complains about." Sorry, Matt, but rough interrogation is not torture. Torture is when you inflict brutal, disfiguring injuries for the sake of retaliation or punishment. Subjecting someone to temporary physical discomfort with the objective of saving the lives of innocent people is only torture in the minds of preening, sanctimonious twits who don't care how many other people die, as long as they can feel smug.
And contrary to what the idiot "terrorism is a law enforcement issue" left purport, the purpose of harsh interrogation is not to get evidence to convict a terrorist at trial. It's to save innocent lives... something the sanctimonious left doesn't really give a damn about.
