Counter-Moonbattery Alert: The Daily Caller

Today, Tucker Carlson of Fox News and former Dick Cheney aide Neal Patel launched The Daily Caller, a new web news portal that they promise will endeavor to maintain nonpartisan civility -- something to which Moonbattery would never aspire. Still, in a world with plenty of state-run media outlets such as CNN, Reuters, and AP still have a significant online footprint, it is refreshing to see that another site plans to bring "fair and balanced" news to the web.
Says Andrew Breitbart:
And now, Tucker, with the launch of The Daily Caller, you immediately bring a new and credible voice to our cause. I expect you to be the target of multiple attacks in the very near future. I expect this because I expect you to be effective. To that end, be on the lookout for a bizarre operation by the name of Media Matters for America. You will have a team of dishonest "fact-checkers" distorting many of the stories you report with the goal of intimidating the mainstream media from taking your work seriously.
Says Arianna Huffington:
I have no doubt that there will be many things on The Daily Caller that I disagree with, just as I am sure there are many things on HuffPost that Tucker disagrees with. But I hope that there will also be many things that we can agree on -- the kind of things we file on HuffPost as "Beyond Left and Right." Like the Move Your Money campaign we launched, in which we encourage people to take action to change a broken financial system by moving their money out of too-big-to-fail banks and into local community banks and credit unions. It's neither left nor right. It is populism at its best, appealing to the bedrock American values of community and competition.
Critics will slam The Daily Caller for employing ex-RNC staffers and for being funded by big GOP donors. And that's fine, if they stick to their guns and offer yet another bright light that exposes government corruption and left-wing-extremist lunacy in the way that Big Government has been doing so effectively.
