Enough Is Enough! Let the Tea Parties Begin
Posted by The MaryHunter at January 14, 2010 5:34 PM
The Tea Party movement is not limited to our national nimrod politicians by any means. The Maryland General Assembly just opened yesterday and last night there was a reckoning:
Hundreds of conservative Tea Party activists swooped into Annapolis last night on the first day of the 2010 legislative session, ostensibly to protest Maryland's economic woes and incumbent politicians' efforts to solve them.
Dave Schwartz, Maryland director for Americans for Prosperity, said those gathered want the politicians working in the surrounding government offices to understand that "government can't solve all of our problems. Spending will not get us out of this budget crisis."
[Tim] Phillips, the national leader of Americans for Prosperity and a longtime conservative activist, told the crowd to keep fighting.
"Americans are doing what they always do," he said. "They are standing up and fighting like you are doing here in Maryland. Don't let anyone tell you that conservative values ... that freedom doesn't sell in Maryland."
Maryland has one of the more screwed-up state budgets in the nation. Gov. Martin O'Malley and the Democrat-run state legislature spend our tax dollars like drunken sailors and then do brilliant moves like instituting "millionaire taxes" that drive out small business owners and employers, thus, reducing the state's tax base... all the while blaming the previous Republican administration for their woes. Sound familiar?
Hear the winds of change.
They're a coming, in November, to a voting booth near you. (image)
