Harry Reid has a message for all the senators that went along with the health care takeover without selling prostituting their votes for massive amounts of pork: Suckers!

Reid said. "If they don't have something in it important to them then it doesn't speak well of them."
He likened the legislation to the defense bill, which is thick with earmarks and other provisions benefitting individual members and even private corporations. "That's what legislations all about," Reid said of the compromises bribes.

I am told the left is not happy at all with the bill. I'll believe it when Al Franken and Barbara Boxer vote against it. Or when Nancy Pelosi rejects it. Otherwise, I think it's a total head fake.

I guess the real question is, can we ever beat this beast back? I think there's always hope. If the bill is as horrible as we think it will be ... and we have some serious analysis to support that conclusion ... there's always a chance it can be dismantled piece by piece over time. There's also the fact that our country is fiscally insolvent and the Democrats have only two choices. 1. Keep spending like there's no tomorrow in which case there won't be. 2. Undertake very unpopular measures to close the gap, which, because they are Democrats, means raising taxes which will make the economy worse and make them even less popular. They are not in an ideal political position.

They are also deluded. They actually think a bill that hikes taxes immediately and raises the cost of insurance is going to be popular with the American people.
