Obama Photo Op Air Brushed -- Without PhotoShop

Posted by The MaryHunter at December 6, 2009 9:57 AM

Dear Leader Barack Obama, never one to turn down a chance to use his despised military for a photo op, may have offended our armed services more than usual:

When President Obama spoke to troops at Alaska's Elmendorf Air Force Base last month, the unit there parked a shiny new F-22 fighter plane in the hangar. But according to multiple sources, White House aides demanded the plane be changed to an older F-15 fighter because they didn't want Obama speaking in front of the F-22, a controversial program he fought hard to end.
"White House aides actually made them remove the F-22-said they would not allow POTUS to be pictured with the F-22 in any way, shape, or form," one source close to the unit relayed.
The airmen there took offense to the Obama aides' demand, sources told The Cable, seeing it as a slight to the folks who are operating the F-22 proudly every day.
"It's one thing to be against further production; quite another to slight the folks who are flying them in the operational world," one source said, adding that "the F-15 pictured was put into service roughly around the same period when Obama graduated from college. It's vintage."

Whether or not you agree with the need for additional F-22s, the insult to those brave pilots who fly them every day can't help but cause further ripples of disgust among the military for this anti-military president. It's doubtful that he will ever learn that the United States Armed Forces are NOT to be trifled with.

Those cheering crowds are likely just Hollywood extras from one of those recent anti-military flops.

Smarmy, opportunist asshole.

Being an AF vet, and worked on B-52's, NEVER DEMEAN MY PLANE!!!!! While I DESPISE Obama, I'll give him a pass this time, because it appears that his staff is the SCHMUCKNUTS in this case. However, what happened to Gordon Brown could happen to Obama. He could go to visit wounded warriors, and they snub him. IT WOULD BE WELL DESERVED.

Posted by: codekeyguy at December 6, 2009 10:15 AM

Cancellation of the F-22 project was a HUGE mistake. Watch the air superiority ball now pass to Russia with its Su-47 Terminator in heavy production. The F-15 is almost past its sell by date and the F-35 JSF is not an air superiority design.

The F-22 was a brilliant design and worth every dime spent on it.

When image is the essential consideration then everything they attempt to portray is obviously imaginary like his leadership, his 'intellect', his promises... you name it and it's fake.

With all due respect, it all falls back onto the POTUS. Either (a) the directive came down specifically from him given his past (as senator) and current policies - with no thought given to the potential insult; or (b) his staff is going rogue and going flagrantly political even with things he wouldn't approve of if he'd given it just a nanosecond of thought. But even if you allow him (b), the buck still stops with The One - he picked his staff.

"Judge me by the people with whom I surround myself." B. Hussein Obama

It is ironic, for all the bitching over wasteful spending, you cried over spending cuts to the F-22. It has not even been used in the current wars. However, demanding the the F-22 removed was a bit petty on the staff's part. Yet, leave it to Moonbattery to use it to mock the troops and President.

For all of your claims about Obama "despising" the military, you FAIL to note the efforts of Michelle Obama on veterans affairs, you fail to note that Gen. Shinseki is doing great work. Your efforts are nothing more than a political hatchet job.

In order to provide for the common defense as stated in the US Constitution demands Citizens join the armed services. The President of the USA is the Commander of all of the Armed forces. This DUTY is in fact his #2 priority to that of DEFENDING the CONSTITUTION itself.

Now in order for the USA to join a Global Government what is required is that it be established that the current military is part of the "Old World Bourgeois Society." Through cap & trade and various VATs a "Global Army (UN)" will operate and appear to be part of the proletariat while in reality it will be the muscle behind the "New Global Government."

As stated in the Communist Manifesto, "Society as a whole is more and more splitting up into two great hostile camps, into two great classes directly facing each other -- bourgeoisie and proletariat." When you realized that Communism or any of the "ISMs" out there are simply population control and reduction schemes invoked by the OLIGARCY in CONTROL than you can see the truth that our issues are being compounded and INSTIGATED rather than natural progression.

The controlling oligarchy needs to defame the current system in order to replace it with THEIR SYSTEM. What is interesting is that the oligarchy can and will use both communist and socialist methods simultaneously or individually as the need arises.

For instance the "GREEN REVOLUTION" is simply the old RED rebranded but is no less a population control system. It makes the case that "HUMANS ARE THE PROBLEM" and need to be CULLED. The funny part is that the Al Gore’s of the world are not going to lead by example and kill themselves.

Some of you people need to consider the possibility that I (and the many others) may be correct about this. You are running out of TIME!

The F22 is obviously a racist airplane.

I must have missed the part where Moonbattery mocked the troops.

Posted by: Norm Glitz at December 6, 2009 11:38 AM

You need look no further than the last open thread. There is a dead soldier in that coffin! Yet, leave it to Moonbattery to use the photo to ridicule Obama. No matter what your feelings on the President, using that photo is tasteless and full of dishonor for our fallen. Helsing ought to be ashamed. You claim Presidents use troops as props? What the hell do you think that thread is?

Wellstone lets us know: "Sorry. That was me at 11:00 AM", posting this gem, "Yet, leave it to Moonbattery to use it to mock the troops and President."

Yo, Kyle - like Norm said at 11:38 - I missed the part where we "mocked" the troops.

Many of us out here were "the troops" (and some still are), so that's pretty unlikely.

As for us mocking the current occupant of the White House? Well, he's doing a bang-up job of inviting ridicule at ALL levels. All Moonbattery does is point it out. This whole deal with the F-22 versus F-15 is typical of the "smoke and mirrors" propaganda of today's political Left.

I'm very sure your response will be the usual...."But....BUUUUSH!!!", so don't even bother trying to spin or deflect. Obama has been in place for a year now - he OWNS this, regardless.

Posted by: TonyD95B at December 6, 2009 11:55 AM

You must see this for what it is. The “Raptor’s” existence indicates US air superiority. Obama is intent on GLOBALISM (Global Communist Oligarchy) and so we symbolically and factually substantiate that to the world by laying down our superior weaponry as a display of our willingness to capitulate in that Global Government!

Posted by: AlphaOmega at December 6, 2009 11:58 AM

It is ironic, for all the bitching over wasteful spending, you cried over spending cuts to the F-22.

You need to get your facts straight.

What fiscal conservatives disagreed with was the purchase of additional F-22s that:

1. Were not requested by the Pentagon
2. Were not needed by the Air Force
3. Were earmarked by bipartisan porkers whose home states built the planes

Conservatives defended the core program against cuts when those cuts were coming from persons wishing to weaken the military, for the sake of weakening the military.

The conservative criticism over spending reductions was never in the form of cuts, but rather, directed against buying planes the military didn't ask for and doesn't want.

Liberals attacked the program itself when it was about the military. Conservatives attacked the waste when self-interested politicians tried to bring home pork for their districts.

Another in a long series of anecdotes that illuminates the despicable, arrogant, and foolish nature of this administration and the emptiness at its core. There is absolutely nothing genuine about the public Barack Obama.

I just have a hard time admitting I was wrong in what I have said here today. Please, forgive me for being such an ass.

It is hard dealing with so much all at once.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at December 6, 2009 12:17 PM

wait a minute. they photo-shopped an airplane out of the pic during the speech, but they had to fly the presidential 747s over ny city to get a good pic and they gave some reason that they couldn't photo-shop that pic; some silly excuse that they didn't want to fake it?

thank god for the fourth estate being the internet, cause the msm has lost that title.

I wanted to add this but hit post for some reason...

This open capitulation is a form of bowing down to the "Global Government" and giving a loyalty pledge.

Re-confirms what he's been doing all along -- denigrating the military.

I heard Michelle talking a good game about supporting military families during the (pre-election) campaign, but not much has been publicized about her (post-election campaign) actions for the military. With this First Family, my take is "no publicity = no action."

For God's sake, will people stop referring to them as "The Troops". This is a lame term, that was popularized by idiot journalists during the first Gulf War. I am not a military man, but I believe that technically, the only soldiers who should be called troops are calvary men, or their notional decendents - armored and airborne soldiers.

Call them "Soldiers", "Marines", "Airmen", or "Sailors", or "Our men in uniform", or GIs.

Anything but "The Troops" - it sounds stupid.

I made this observation at your blog, and I'll do so here.

At the end of the videos, Bush goes and shakes hands and takes photos with the enlisted men and women first.... while Obama just shakes hands with the military brass.

Our troops loved the past CinC for a reason, because Bush loved and respected them.
Obama.... I really don't think he does. I mean, this is the same guy who holds his crotch while the pledge is playing (although if I were standing next to Hillary, I might hold mine too. lol)

The F-22 is actually obsolete as they are now developing the first fighter capable of traveling in low earth orbit. Of course they wont make this public. They really need to deploy is Rods From God - satellites that drop telephone pole sized steel rods that when they hit the Earth release as much energy as small nuclear weapon.

Cancellation of the F-22 project was a HUGE mistake. Watch the air superiority ball now pass to Russia with its Su-47 Terminator in heavy production. The F-15 is almost past its sell by date and the F-35 JSF is not an air superiority design.

Mmm hmm.

My assessment of the geopolitical realities, such as I can perceive them, is this - we are not yet completely past the age of conventional, symmetric warfare against an internationally-recognized, openly-operating state actor.

In other words, World War III or some smaller version of same, may yet come to pass. There are plenty of foreign governments which wish us harm: Red China, Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, and of course, the wildcard Russians.

Foreign policy isn't all counter-terrorism, black ops, drones, and anti-IED vehicles. It isn't a good idea to completely scrap the conventional warfare equipment and spend it all on special forces training and equipment. That kind of technology may be great for hunting Taliban in Afghanistan, but it isn't going to deter the likes of North Korea.

The United States needs to maintain total air superiority, as it has done in every conflict it has fought since 1945. It's precisely why the US is able to inflict enemy casualties at a rate many times that which it suffers.

Today's warfare more dependent than ever before on maintaining control of the skies, and the F22 Raptor is a crucial part of that effort. Losing control of the airspace over a battlefield, and you risk the entire war.

Our ground forces would be cut to pieces if an enemy were allowed to bomb them at will. Cutting the F22 may prove to be the most disastrous decision ever made by the SecDef, President, or anyone else charged with making decisions on behalf of the entire military.

At least as bad as the F-22 cuts is the elimination of the Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) helicopter program. Can you believe a president that hates the troops so much he won't even buy helicopters to rescue wounded soldiers from behind enemy lines?
