Moonbat WaPo Blogger: Nadal Hassan = General Patton = Sergeant York
Posted by Gregory of Yardale at December 1, 2009 12:41 PM
Oozing the idiotic moral equivalence that contributes to the blind obnoxiousness of the progressive left, Anthony Stevens-Arroyo of the Washington Post’s On Faith blog compares Ft. Hood Islamist Mass Murderer Nidal Hassan to General George Patton and World War I hero Sgt Alvin York. How are these men all alike? All three recited what Arroyo calls “bad prayers.”
But the granddaddy of bad prayers is, “Allahu Akbar!” uttered before shooting innocent people or setting off bombs to slaughter innocents to advance your own salvation. Such abuse by violence of God’s will was not invented at Fort Hood. After all, General Patton ordered the composition of a prayer for good weather so that thousands of Germans could be bombed. Army sharpshooters - like the famous Alvin York of the First World War - prayed to God for a good aim to kill people.
He then invokes Keith Olbermann as his model for giving him the idea of "The worst prayer in the world."
What the idiot left does not realize is that not all killing is morally equal. It is righteous to pray for victory against an evil foe; for example, a foe that wants to murder, enslave, and oppress your people. But it takes a clear-eyed recognition of the difference between good and evil to be able to make this distinction. The progressive left is incapable of making such clear-eyed distinctions.

Gregory,
Are you sure lao, shitstone or any of the usual trolls didn't write that? It sounds right up their alley. (Pun intended).

What the author doesn't get is that "Allahu Akbar!", as Hasan and the Muslim suicide bombers used it, isn't exactly a prayer (Though some Muslims do say it when praying, as it means "God is great"), it's more like just a loud declaration.

The problem here is the WaPo blogger doesn't have the ability to see "right and wrong". Those are grey areas to leftists. When there is no solid ground for being in the right, then everything becomes fluid, nuanced, textured...
In his world (seemingly) there is no justification for killing, no reason to pray to God that you do the right thing, no cause worth fighting for...it's all "shades of grey".
THAT, more than any "moral equivalence" he draws between Hassan and Sgt. York is the problem.

Cop killer Maurice Clemmons, may be Muslim?
Converted, while serving time in the Cummins Prison?

I've seen the defense before of the Islamist murderer. They pretend to abhor his actions, but do not blame him directly. Instead they refer to "Pre-traumatic stress disorder" or some crap. I doubt Hasan would have seen action in Iraq, being that he was (Supposed to be) a military shrink. But this was another example of PC run amok, allowing Hasan to be an Islamist nut just to be "diverse" (many examples incase BitchBoy decides to pop in over in this thread).
And the WaPo moonbat is giving us a good example of your average moral relativism (even though "Allahu Akbar" isn't really considered a prayer). Bush eats carrots, Hitler was reported to have ate carrots... Bush=Hitler!

while i might, just might, give him the equivalence for hassan and patton... both religious, both committed to their sides win, etc.
however, the big difference between the two is that hassan assumed what he was doing was in the name of god and that god approved.
Patton, unlike hassan, had a weather prayer made, which opened up the door to god having a choice!!!
that is, in islam, even god has no choice!
[and must bend to mohamed!]
while to the christian patton, god could have refused his prayer, made bad weather, and so had a choice.
as for alvin york... the author should NEVER have brought him up in this example, since york was NEVER a sniper. york was an objector. and he found that the bible allowed for self defense, and that there were plenty of examples that justice was not delivered for nothing.
York did not pray so that his shot would be accurate. that is a travesty to who york was.

What you don't understand is that America IS the evil. Founded by evil white men for evil purpose of theft, murder, genocide, etc. Maintained by evil slavery here and abroad. Built upon the evil corporate hegemony that raped the world of its riches. Slaughtered millions for The American Empire. Continues slaughtering millions of innocent men women and children for the New American Empire.
So yes, all American warriors are warriors for evil and that poor picked on Muslim is actually superior to General Patton and Sgt. York because America made him do it.
Yeah. Sure. And all you moral equivalentists can kiss my rosy red, white, and blue American veteran ass.

Chuck at St.Paul:
First, I do not believe you are who you say you are: you are not a veteran.
Second, what country do you live in? If it is the United States, why are you here if you hate it so much?
Third, I feel really sorry for the world's Muslims. They're caught in the trap of a false religion, and are serving Satan, rather than the Lord. They're in for a big surprise when they meet Him face-to-face.

Wrong.
Correction: The left is incapable of making such clear-eyed distinctions.

Dude, Chuck was being sarcastic......
He's not only an Air Force vet, he served a couple of decades with the FAA......inside the "belly of the bureaucratic beast", so to speak.....so listen and learn.
Sorry, Chuck - our friend Jeff appears to be new 'round here.

Ohhhhhh nooooo . . . . .
Chuck, I re-read your post.
I think I owe you an apology real fast: I took your words LITERALLY. I did not realize you were speaking sarcastically. Seriously, I think you and I on the same page.
Again, I am sorry; I mean it. I'm signing off.
Posted by: jeigheff at December 1, 2009 4:20 PM
jeigheff, you might be new around here, but I'm sure you'll see from time to time in threads where actual liberals here are trying to be serious... and it is quite funny.
But you are right about Islam. Nothing against Muslims, many of whom are good people (One of my friends is was a Muslim, now a Lutheran), but the whole ideology is screwed up from the get go.

The left is incapable of making such clear-eyed distinctions because the dope clouds their minds.
