I Triple-Dog Dare Ya!

Watching the film "The Christmas Story" with my kids, it occurred to me that there were a number of brilliant lessons to be learned from this classic, especially for Congress. In fact, one parallel was not lost on my 10-year-old daughter, either. She came up with the kernel of this post.

The culmination this Saturday of the whole Ben Nelson saga shows just how Harry Reid and the Liberal Left are goading "principled moderates" into voting for a bill that would utterly destroy our national health care system, not to mention the re-election chances of those moderate Democrats from conservative states. The build up and potential aftermath of this congressional tragi-comedy reminded us of the tongue-on-flagpole scene:

The leftist radicals in Congress have triple-dog dared (not to mention, flat-out bribed) Ben Nelsen and other "moderates" to pass some version of ObamaCare reform. Even a 10-year-old can understand that. If this monstrosity goes to Dear Leader Obama's desk, those leftist loons will simply scurry for their (safe) seats when the bell rings next election cycle, leaving duped moderates rather stuck with a serious problem. How it is that these misguided moderates can't realize that they are being suckered into taking the fall for Obama, Reid, Peosi and Co. is utterly beyond comprehension.
