Well, at least they've backed off a little from declaring him the Messiah. Katherine Jean Lopez at NRO finds this warm, soft, stinky little nugget of what the "Community-Based Reality" actually believes.
It is known in many esotericists' circles, that before the Christ will reappear, there must be a measure of Peace in the world! President Obama is helping to restore that peace.
PBO really doesn't seem to give a damn that the Iranian people are kept "peaceful" by a brutally oppressive regime. And he seems to share the belief of Middle East leftists that Israel should just go away for the sake of "peace" in the Middle East. He is content to allow Iran to acquire the nuclear weapons to achieve that end.
PBO spoke in Oslo about the United States role in preserving world peace, but back home, he is systematically gutting the military of weapons systems like the F-22, the Combat Search and Rescue Helicopter, and missile defense systems needed to maintain that role.
Let me ask, what good is peace in the absence of freedom and justice?
What is the progressive utopian ideal of a society? Well, it is a society in which everyone is guaranteed food, clothing, and shelter. It is a society in which access to education and health care are fully guaranteed and provided to all members. In exchange, members of this society have restrictions placed on their personal mobility and expression in order to limit the potential for damage to others, to society, or to the environment.
That is the precise description of a prison.
Jesus Christ did not come to Earth to put us in prison. He came to free us from prison.
