Al Gore, the 43rd President of the United States

Posted by The MaryHunter at December 2, 2009 10:18 AM

One can easily forget that we were a few dingbats on the Supreme Court away from the above, heart-stopping headline. whiny liberal elitist moonbats still suffering from Bush Derangement Syndrome will spend long hours reading and re-reading this faux history of the victory that never was (thank God) - replete with interview "quotes" from leading liberal commentators.

Truly a statist's wet dream.

Among the funnier tidbits (besides the censuring of Justice Antonin Scalia for an outburst) is this:

An August 2001 Daily Intelligence Briefing warns, "Bin Ladin [sic] Determined to Strike in the U.S.," which prompts the president to authorize the strategic bombing of targets in the Khost province of Afghanistan, near the Pakistani border.

And therefore... no 9/11.

Plenty more where that came from.

Happy days are here again... NOT

I love the part where government saves the people of New Orleans from the wrath of Katrina.

It's not even very good political alt-history. The writer obviously hates Antonin Scalia and Joe Lieberman, and makes sure they 'get' what they have coming to them (in his opinion).

Talk about your liberal wet dream.

but Bush still ends up president......
how 'bout that

Yet these very same liberal thinkers seeing a headline by a prominent AGW scientist 'Where's The Warming' do not demand it be acted upon.

Thats stupid. 9-11 was already in the works and all the suicide hijackers in place long before August 2001. Strategic bombings of what? Even if they had magically hit the building he was in, another operative would have given the go signal - or perhaps even the cell leader in the US. They always have backup plans. Then the excuse that 9-11 (or whatever it would be called if it was another date)was retaliation for attacks on Afghanistan would have been used - and been valid. It could have been worse, since the if it was on a different date - the heroes of FLight 93 would not been present and the 4th plane would have hit the Whitehouse or the Capitol Bldg.

A better revisionist history would have been if Bill Clinton had taken Bin Laden into custody when he had the chance.

I think I lost a couple of brain cells on that one. But no worries, I have plenty, plenty more.

Sadly, David Rakoff (rhymes with) dangerously doesn't or his involuntary body function systems would completely shutdown.

Well... I'm not sure leaving on vacation to Crawford Texas for a month was exactly the right thing to do either.

and all the king's horses
and all the king's men
couldn't put poor Al
back together again

Bush going to his ranch isnt a vacation in the normal sense, as the they had the whole thing wired up the same way the Whitehouse was and most of his day was spent in meeting (live and teleconferencing). Its not like Bush spent most of his time sitting by the pool sipping drinks. There isnt anything Bush couldnt to do in Texas that he couldnt do in the Whitehouse. Besides, that whole briefing back then was vague and non specific. After Bin Laden spent all of the 90s attacking US interests overseas, word that they wanted to attack again wasnt exactly news.

Heck Obama spends his time jetting around the planet, but AF-1 has everything he needs as well.

Clinton too had OBL in the crosshairs and didn't take the shot. Sandy Buerger made sure we will never know of other opportunities bungled by Clinton/Gore.

Actually the entire alt-history piece was pretty funny. Especially the bit about that great Constitutional and Sharia scholar BOH getting appointed to the Supreme Court.

As an anon poster mentioned, bombing Afghanistan in August would not have prevented 9/11 attacks. It's just implying that 9/11 is Bush's fault. Ridiculous.

As I've mentioned before, had Bush ordered airport screening, reinforced cockpit doors, armed air marshals, and invaded Afghanistan in August, the libs would have gotten their thongs in a complete knot.

Somewhere in TENNESEE a village is missing its idiot

Liberals gave us Jimmy Carter who was responsible for the whole mideast blow-up, Bill Clinton who was responsible for the ground-work leading up to 9-11 and BO who is nawing away at the fabric of American society like ...(let's see now):

a rabid rat in heat.

So comparatively, giving us Al Gore to brag about himself for 4 years would have been no problem.

Didn't one of the political nobodies recently release a similar fictional paean, only about himself and several hundred pages long?

Hey, what if McCain had won instead of Chairman Zero?

I love the part where Gore grew to 150 ft and stomped on all the islamofacists, while growling "Fee-Fie-Fo-Fum, I smell the underwear of an Al Quida Bum"
