Palin was announced as McCain's running mate on the final day of the Democratic National Convention, the day Obama gave his pompous nominee- acceptance speech on an elegant stage decorated with Greek pillars, like he was Zeus addressing the puny mortals. Yet, of the two stories (His speech, and Palin's appointment), Palin's appointment attracted much more media attention than Obama's speech. Thus, many lefty morons felt that Palin stole Obama's thunder, and were extremely cranky over that. Of course, liberals are never good at overcoming old grudges.

If there's any derangement issues on Palin, it has to be wingnuts amusing themselves with some asinine notion that the left "fears" her. To the contrary, Palin is the gift that keeps on giving, the example of what the GOP sells to the peasants as government leadership.
While the GOP is seeing what could be a come back, instead of offering solutions or even an interest in governing, they are selling anything that glitters as a representative of what they stand for. Just the other day, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (Utah Republican) said that former Carrie Prejean would be a serious contender for public office. I swear, if Huck Hogan was still popular enough, I think the GOP would solicit him because "he energizes the base". But of course, they're looking for pretty women to overshadow their pro-rape and "keep them in their place" image.
There are 2 things that should be understood about Palin and the next POTUS run. First, while Palin may be the shiny penny, that will only last until her true value is needed. She comes up short. Second, I seriously doubt that Palin will run in 2012 as she is doing exactly what's advantageous for her now and that's to simply become a media whore and cash in for all she can get. I suspect she'll soon do talk radio or such so that the GOP can still still worship her along with Rush et al.

This is a superb analysis. I've been saying for a long time: the left is not scared of Sarah Palin; they feel only ridicule for her. This article makes the more insightful point that the ridicule is really for average Americans with Sarah being a convenient representation thereof.

The more conservatives talk themselves into believing the left is scared of Sarah, the worse the outcome will be. The left feels nothing but scorn and ridicule for her and the people she's like.

Our inability to admit that a focus of conservative admiration is a target of others' demeaning ridicule has really held conservatives back from understanding what's going on. We want to believe that Palin has the same stature with our enemies as she has with us, just with reversed polarity, but she doesn't.

I see Palin as occupying an important post in the next Republican administration but not being at the top of it. The sooner we all get real about it, the better.

I recall reading that Tina Fey's SNL version of Sarah Palin confused a lot of Americans regarding Palin's intellect. For example, it was Fey as Palin, not the genuine Governor, who made the infamous "I can see Russia from my house" comment, yet many still believe the real Palin said it, and point to the statement as "evidence" of her mental inferiority.

I'm not one who views Palin as presidential material, but if a person causes this much consternation and vitriol to spew forth from the left, I figure she must be doing something right.
