Patriot Alert: Vets and Active Military Eat Free at Applebee's

Posted by The MaryHunter at November 11, 2009 4:55 AM

A wonderful idea from a great restaurant chain, to commemorate veterans and active-duty military this Veteran's Day: eat on us!

In recognition of your service to our country, all veterans and active duty military personnel are invited to eat free at Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar Restaurants this Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009.
All U.S. veterans and active duty military with proof of current or former military service will eat free at all Applebee's nationwide on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009.

What a wonderful offer! It's great to see that there are still some who appreciate our veterans. I've let Applebee's know that they are now my new "favorite" place to eat.

What makes this promotion special is Applebee's wasn't shamed into doing this. On the other hand, Google, the moonbat search engine company that couldn't be bothered to change its logo to commemorate 9/11, today, has a logo honoring Veteran's day.

I have to believe postings on blogs like this made their way back to the nest of Google moonbats and they correctly decided to not ignore this very special day.

As a black U.S. Army veteran, I will not taking advantage of this generous offer by Applebee's, but i sure will put Applebee's in my memory bank as a business that appreciates military service. May God bless Applebee's prosperity.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, apostle.

Anyway, good on Applebee's! We have Fort Drum here, so the one here is going to be hopping today!

I just hope that they don't overdo their generosity and end up canceling this for next year. Last year they did this as a pilot, in just a few locations.

I've heard the Applebee's CEO interviewed on a biz network recently. She seems like a good capitalist who appreciates that, if you give customers what they want and treat them with respect, they tend to come back and spread the word. She's clearly out to make a buck - no harm in that. If she weren't, I'd be truly worried about Applebee's prospects.

more corporations need to step up and do this all the time... anyone who's served should get lot's of freebies and respect. after all these troops fired at the enemy and were fired upon... our troops are worth more then just lip service, we need to also get the homeless vets off the streets people... america needs to stop giving money to welfare rats and put that money to good use helping american soldiers. you hear that corporate america? step up and start returning the thanks to people who have allowed you to make millions off the american people because of freedom and capitolism. bu yah!

How is this not socialism which is something you supposedly abhor?

12:41 post from "Lao" is the name-highjacker.

To Lao:

It's not socialism because Applebee's freely made the CHOICE to honor our veterans today with their generous promotion, a good business decision because it will surely generate a great deal of goodwill and loyalty among it's customers and many of these veterans will likely be repeat customers. If it was socialism the government would have forcibly taken money from the corporation to "redistribute" to those a central bureaucracy deem worthy (in reality most of it will disappear into a black hole of corruption).

Do liberals really not understand how important the difference between freedom and compulsion is? This is why I became a conservative in college. I thought I was a liberal myself until I started hearing everyone around me debating the best way to regulate others into exhibiting the behavior they desired. What gives you the right to say what I, or anyone else, can do with the money that WE earn? It was truly frightening, but an effective wake-up call out of lala-land.

Anyway, if any veterans are reading this, God bless you and thank you for your courage and sacrifice!

What a great idea. My husband is still suffering from the result's of agent orange. He deserves at least a free dinner. Viet Nam vet's never got the recognition that they deserved. Maybe some day they will.

Though a Vet with stories to tell, I doubt I'll be taking part in the gegerous offers. Outback is dishins "Bloomin onions" as I saw on the box the box last night.(call first to confirm)
The venues are likley to be swamped and I'll let others enjoy. My wife has something else planned, so she says. I hope its a keg.
