What should a business do when it is hamstrung by government and losing to its competition?

The rational, free-market move would be to offer a better product or service at a better price. Rational businessmen would trim costs, improve efficiency, and stand up for liberty if government is the source of the problem.

Instead of doing that, UPS, which is infested with unions, has shifted its business strategy to include lobbying designed to spread the infestation of moonbattery to its main competitor, FedEx. Like a parasite, union moonbats have gained such a level of control over their host as to actually use their host to further spread the disease.

Since the combination of Big Labor and Big Government have crippled UPS, their solution has been to direct the full tyranny of government at their competitor, rather than freeing themselves from the clutches of corrupt union bosses.

UPS uses unions as weapons to attempt to cripple FedEx

Moonbattery is an infectious disease. This progressive disease cripples the defenses of the host, and induces self-destructive delusions in the victim's own mind.

Southerners, historically noted for having an independent streak, have begun taking their first sips of the Obamunist Kool-Aid.

As a result, 2 in 3 southerners now want more government programs to create jobs.

2 in 3 southerners want more government cheese

The message of Ronald Reagan has been lost in the South, and needs to be re-awakened. Southerners have forgot the basic truth that government does not create true jobs. It can only suck capital out of the private market to breed bureaucrats instead of productive workers, of pump up a house-of-cards of an economy using freshly borrowed and printed money. Neither avenue creates real value, so neither source of imagined productivity and wealth will last beyond the point at which the government illusion can no longer be propped up with other peoples' money.

Just doing a little study, and on the day in history that izlamist terrorist turned on fellow service members:

1942 Egypt El Alamein

November 5th, 1942 : The British win the Second Battle of El Alamein with the British Eighth Army headed by ( Monty ) Lieutenant-General Bernard Montgomery when the ( Afrika Korps ) commanded by Field Marshal Rommel ( Desert Fox ) are forced to surrender exhausted and dying from dehydration. In a famous speech a few days later Winston Churchill uses these well known lines "This is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.".

and:

"1953 U.S.A. Middle East

November 5th, 1953 : It was revealed that Israel and Arab states were warned that the United States could not carry the financial burden of the Middle East forever. The cause of this burden was largely because of plans to develop the Jordan River, and to assist 800,000 Israeli refugees. The refugees were displaced as a result of the Palestine War. "

and:

1973 U.S.A. Watergate

"November 5th, 1973 : In the midst of the need for peace in the Middle East, along with the pressing energy crisis, more was at stake in Congress. Another order of business on the agenda pertained to whether or not President Nixon should step down. He was allegedly a part of the Watergate Scandal."

and:

2006 Iraq Saddam Hussein Sentenced To Death

"November 5th, 2006 : Saddam Hussein is sentenced to death in the al-Dujail trial for his role in the massacre of the 148 Shi'as in 1982"

Izlamist extremists ALMOST ALWAYS use previous dates of importance in their attacks. Just a thought...

Just forced myself to listen to President Dopey Change's remarks at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. Although he did not give a shout-out, he did pause for applause when he mentioned VP Biden's soldier son was just back from Iraq. When none was forthcoming, he rattled his papers and just kept waiting. Still no applause. Finally, he summoned up his fabulous communications skills and continued, "uh...uh..." A somber occasion at which once again the president demonstrates his ignorance of protocol and propriety, his contempt for his audience, and his inability to deviate from his script and staging directions. You should watch this clip.

The Jon Stewart clip is much funnier, but, if you want your "news" from Fox itself, then just go here:

Hannity and Bachmann on Fox

At about 3:16 you will see something rather amazing. What had been a nice, clear, blue sky day suddenly turns overcast. What had been nice fall colors on the leaves on the trees suddenly reverts back to green.

Around the same point in the clip, you see a view down the mall and lo and behold, way down near the monument, we see the white tents that were there on 9/12.

Hannity added clips of the 9/12 demonstration to make the latest demonstration look larger than it actually was.

I think FAUX "news" is pretty accurate.

Farmer Ted, the color of the sky on my planet is blue, but on a bright sunny day it does not all of a sudden go overcast.

Jim Carrey and the Politics of Astigmatic Hypocrisy

Actor Jim Carrey is not unlike any number of his comrades and comradettes in Hollywood: He operates under the delusion that stardom confers wisdom and that wealth bestows insight.

And Carrey, like George Clooney and Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon, is flush with celebrity wisdom and insight when it comes to political observations. Even as he rakes in $20 million a picture, he sees fit to rip “personal greed and ambition” and the capitalistic system that made him a very rich man.

Such an outlandish display of astigmatic hypocrisy!

Canadian Carrey, stand-up-comic-turned-movie-star, has made it big time via the capitalist-world of Hollywood yet feels free to attack the very economic system that made his success possible.

Compounding his muddled thought processes, Carrey’s newest flick, Disney’s PC version and “Digital Dickens” production of A Christmas Carol, had a lackluster opening.

In a decidedly negative review of Carrey and his Scrooge, S.T. Karnick wrote of Carrey’s ”political flatulence.”

He quoted the actor: . .

No, I don't think this is going to make you stop watching Fox. What I hope it does do is open your eyes, just a tiny bit, to the "fair and balanced" viewpoint you are being offered.

That certainly suggests to me that he takes these charges seriously.

Posted by: Lao at November 11, 2009 4:03 PM

I probably won't bother with the digital FX version of A Christmas Carol. It looks stupid. Why spoil a great story with digital created characters? I'll stick with Alistar Sim or the TV movie from 20 odd years ago with George C. Scott in the title role. Great performance from an actor who also kicked silver screen ass as General Patton.

Some people here on the right have adopted a "give him a trial and hang him" attitude.

Since you haven't figured it out, "give him a trial and hang him" is not mutually exclusive of due process.

Due process is a deliberately slow procedural safeguard designed to protect innocent citizens from being on the receiving end of punishment.

Common sense is a remarkably versatile way to make responsive decisions and keep this nation safe.

The terrorist will have his due process in court, even though common sense tells us that this is clearly an act of jihad and must be responded to accordingly.

We don't have to wait for a court to state the patently obvious, then wait for another court to uphold the patently obvious, then wait for a third court to uphold the way the second court upheld the patently obvious, before deferring back to the first court to rule on something else patently obvious, thus beginning the cycle again.

Its the jihad, stupid.

I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning. However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence.

Issued the same day of George Tillers murder, sure was quick on the motive being anti-abortion right?

Posted by: xantl at November 11, 2009 8:20 PM

And what did Obama say at the Ft. Hood memorial service?

"It may be hard to comprehend the twisted logic that led to this tragedy. But this much we do know — no faith justifies these murderous and craven acts; no just and loving God looks upon them with favor. For what he has done, we know that the killer will be met with justice — in this world, and the next."

Posted by: Lao at November 11, 2009 8:23 PM

"Since you haven't figured it out, "give him a trial and hang him" is not mutually exclusive of due process."

Come again?

Hasan is a "suspect" until he is tried and found guilty. Our laws work on the principle of innocent until proven guilty.

Posted by: Lao at November 11, 2009 8:29 PM

So he denied Islamic terrorism as motive - is this supposed to be news? What is your point exactly? Explain how President Obama can openly give motives of racism, and anti-abortion when it suits his leftist world view - but when a Islamic soldier kills his fellow soldiers, after shouting "Allah Akbar" after giving away his property and the Koran to his neighbors he is oddly stumped?

Posted by: xantl at November 11, 2009 8:29 PM

Lao, so what's your point? Most likely scenario is some intern spliced together the story and needs to learn not to do that. Least likely scenario is someone who should know better and isn't an intern used footage and committed a minor deception. Also possible is that it was just a mistake. Are you going to post 50 more times on this? It was a good catch by Stewart, but my wife caught it the previous day. We were at the rally, and when we saw the coverage on Fox, she said, hm, that looks like footage from 9/12, which we were also at. File it as case # 915,299,418,623,904,315 of the media taking liberties in the editing room to make a point. This gets no more than a "whatever".

You don't think CNN and MSNBC do that shit 100 times a day to make whatever point they're trying to make? Who cares?

Hasan is a "suspect" until he is tried and found guilty. Our laws work on the principle of innocent until proven guilty.

In court, Hasan is a suspect until proven guilty. Why? Because courts can punish people, so we choose to restrain them until guilt has been demonstrated beyond a reasonable doubt.

We are not in court. Let me repeat that.

We. Are. Not. In. Court.

Understand?

Since we are not in court (have you figured that out, yet?) we can come to obvious conclusions about what "Allahu Akbar" followed by a hail of bullets means without holding nine evidentiary hearings. We can determine that an unhinged Islamist presentation is actually unhinged without flying in seventeen witnesses to make sure it was he who actually gave it.

If common-sense policy making moved at the speed of justice, nothing will ever get done. Of course, your side doesn't want to admit this, since it means admitting that PC was responsible for fourteen needless deaths. Your side would prefer to wait to judge Hasan's motives until the courts have finished fighting over what gauge of rope is constitutional.

A prominent Columbia architecture professor punched a female university employee in the face at a Harlem bar during a heated argument about race relations, cops said yesterday.

Police busted Lionel McIntyre, 59, for assault yesterday after his bruised victim, Camille Davis, filed charges.

McIntyre and Davis, who works as a production manager in the school's theater department, are both regulars at Toast, a popular university bar on Broadway and 125th Street, sources said.

The professor, who is black, had been engaged in a fiery discussion about "white privilege" with Davis, who is white, and another male regular, who is also white, Friday night at 10:30 when fists started flying, patrons said.

Any time someone yells "Allahu Akbar" and opens fire on people, it's Islamic terrorism.

Posted by: mega at November 11, 2009 8:47 PM

Lao:
So who do you rush to blame when someone shoots an abortion doctor? Terrorists? or "pro-lifers"?

So tell us, was 9/11 Islamic terrorism Lao? or was it individual terrorism ? Is this the idiotic loops you want to try jump through?

Right. We are not in court.

Right. You can leap to whatever conclusions re Hasan that you want.

However, expecting Obama to leap to those same conclusions and dissing him when he doesn't is pure ignorance.

Yes, because the left only ever linked one person to terrorism because of his book reading choice - try Google sometime. You can see discussion of Von Brunns books and motives attributed to being "rightwing"

Re Dr. Tiller, the guy who is accused appeared to act alone although he did have a phone number for an Operation Rescue staffer on his dashboard when he was arrested. I have not heard that any direct connection to anyone else has been made. He has demonstrated strong anti-abortion views in the past.

Did virulent anti-abortion rhetoric and anti-Tiller broadcasts on mainstream media make Tiller a specific target that a lone wolf killer acted on? Yes.

9/11 was masterminded and carried out by agents of Al Qaeda so far as I know. Al Qaeda is a radical Islamist organization.

xanti I think you might be mixed up. Von Brunn, the Holocaust museum shooter, wrote his own books. I have not seen reference to books by right wing authors owned by him. Please provide a link if you have one.

The anti-liberal Knoxville shooter however, did have books by right wing authors.

Weasel words, Here's your phrase re-written for Hassan:
Hassan, the guy who is accused appeared to act alone although he did attempt communication with Al-Qaeda in the past. I have not heard any direct connection to anyone else has been made. He has demonstrated strong Islamic Jihadest views in the past.

Did virulent anti-abortion rhetoric and anti-Tiller broadcasts on mainstream media make Tiller a specific target that a lone wolf killer acted on? Yes.

I quoted President Obama's reaction not the media - please keep up.

There is some doubt in your mind Lao, what are you an idiot,or a truther?

Re Al Qaeda first, the so-called "mastermind" of 9/11 Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has yet to be tried. I imagine that a bunch of evidence that we are currently unaware of will be revealed and that may include connections beyond Al Qaeda.

Re the "truthers" I think they are flakes.

The guy accused of murdering Dr. Tiller is awaiting trial. Once again, I expect we will learn more.

You want to alter my words to apply to Hasan. Ok. So? Hasan will also go to trial.

Do you think evidence against any of the above is being suppressed?

Posted by: Lao at November 11, 2009 9:15 PM

Lao:
Your disingenuous argument that someone has to be tried, and found guilty before you can assume anything is a lie, you do not believe that at all. it iss a self-serving lie you're trying to pull.

So is there something that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is going to expand on that will confirm it was Al-Qaeda for you? other than say:
Bin Laden X2 video tape claiming responsibility
X2 of the 9/11 attackers video tapes with Bin Laden
KSM confession
Al-Libby confession?

Beyond Al-Qaeda? seriously? I can't believe I even engaged you in debate. wtf. Next?

Had to pop out to take note of my name being highjacked, multiple times, on threads I have not contributed to.

If you like the notion of debate with a known entity, even if you virulently disagree with me, then I hope you will oppose name highjacking.

Failing that, I can always become anonymous again.

So, If you see a post from "Lao" that seems out of character, it's likely the highjacker at work.

Posted by: Lao at November 11, 2009 9:28 PM

xanti, you and I and everyone else can leap to whatever assumptions we want. They remain assumptions.

With regards Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Al Qaeda, who knows? Would it interest you at all if, just to toss out something fabricated, the Saudi royal family was implicated in some fashion?

You may be absolutely right and all the information you noted covers the whole story.

However, I will be interested to see if any new information gets revealed in the trial.

Posted by: Lao at November 11, 2009 9:34 PM

Here is what I personally believe. Although there is no hard proof, I feel that evidence of this will come out during the trial.

9:44 name highjacker, obviously.

9:50 name highjacker.

Now, I have other work to attend to. Night night.

One last post to wrap an earlier thread:

Hannity's apology:

HANNITY: Finally tonight...Although it pains me to say this, Jon Stewart, Comedy Central - he was right.

Now, on his program last night he mentioned that we had played some incorrect video on this program last week while talking about the Republican Health Care rally on Capitol Hill.
He was correct, we screwed up - we aired some video of a rally in September, along with a video from the actual event. It was an inadvertent mistake, but a mistake nonetheless. So Mr. Stewart, you were right… we apologize… and by the way, I want to thank you, and all your writers, for watching.

"Inadvertent". Uh-huh, that 9/12 video tape just "happened" to end up in the same pile as the tape they took that very day.

LOL! Now it really is, night, night.

Muhammed Bites the Dust

The “Beltway Sniper” is no longer with us. Nor are the 10 innocent people John Allen Muhammed chose to eliminate from the face of the Earth seven years ago.

As has been pointed out, Muhammed had the opportunity to bid his final farewells to those near and dear to him.

His slain victims, at best, were able to say things like, “Bye, I’m going out shopping/to work/to visit Aunt Milly,” and that was about it. They never returned. The three who survived the shootings were luckier and only have to live the rest of their lives with the memories.

Just over 24 hours ago, denied a final mercy and as hand-wringers over capital punishment were in full force . . .
