I'm as conservative as they come, but this picture crosses the line and should be deleted asap. This sort of thing only gives ammunition to the left.

Bah, one photoshop project more or less makes no difference. The Left has retreated to the N-word line, and as long as that sacred line is not crossed, nobody cares. And thus the incredible value of dense supressing fire is once again demonstrated.

Two Firings: Two Sad Signs of Our Times
As a cocky college kid working part time, I once told a supervisor at Met Life who was letting a bunch of us go that I’d been fired from better jobs than this, which may or may not have been true.
Getting fired, canned, dismissed, discharged, terminated, let go from a job, part or full time, is often a shot to the ego and and the wallet. Today, especially, it’s no joking matter since decent positions are hard to come by.
Getting fired, etc. for your religious beliefs at any time is even less a subject for jocularity.
Even if you’re working at Home Depot, not the ultimate career for most people, but, hey, a job is a job and a buck is a buck, a guy shouldn’t expect to be sent packing for wearing a pin.
However, college kid/cashier Trevor Keezor was canned for his pin which read, “One nation under God, indivisible,” which happen to be words excerpted from the Pledge of Allegiance. Said pin also featured the American flag, which may have offended some illegals at his Okeechobee, Florida Home Depot.
He merely wanted to express his sense of patriotism and support for his brother, a National Guardsman who was scheduled for his second tour in Iraq next month.
No, no, no, said Home Depot. We will tolerate none of that folderol! We may (or may not) concur with your sentiments but trash the pin or you’re gone to the unemployment line!
Trevor chose unemployment over surrendering his constitutional rights and love of country, and his support for his brother.
Company spokesman Craig Fishel contended Keezor had violated company policy and the Home Depot dress code by sporting the pin, which Keezor had worn for a year and a half before anyone noticed, or cared, or complained.
Perhaps what really precipitated the kid’s dismissal was his recent habit of toting his Bible to work and reading it on his lunch hour.
Either way, Trevor’s gone and won’t be able to ever again pollute Home Depot with his patriotic and God-loving fervor.
The good news is that he plans to sue on the basis of religious discrimination. The bad news is that the ACLU effectively said, “Fat chance” since a private corporation such as Home Depot is within its rights to disregard an American’s right to free speech and worship: http://bit.ly/4pAx8s.
Another notable canning occurred up in Barney Frank-land.
Peter Vidala’s infraction? Failure to comply with political correctness . . .

I dont find anything objectionable about the above photoshops.
Consider the left's savage satire of Sarah Palin's disabled son, and note that Obama's kids havent been satirized.
The Left have an ongoing misson to out-do themselves in terms of debauchery and sheer perversion.
Posted by: Arch Conservative at November 2, 2009 11:37 AM
It's not racist, just kinda sinister. At least their daughters were left out of the parody. No so, with younger Palin children, especially Piper and her kid brother, Trig. Which were depicted as flipping the bird to another child, and as disfigured beyond the point of tasteless parody, respectfully. Great laughs for the moonbats, though. And what about George W. being depicted as a chimp? More great laughs for the lefites at the expense of someone else. Now, if this photo had shown Sasha and Malia as ugly and demented, then yes, I would have called it crossing the line. Just my two cents.

The left did much the same to a picture of John McLame. Nobody bitched about that and I thought that O'dumbo wasn't going to use race as a crutch. Well, he's technically not using it directly but his lack of coming out and saying that if people object to his policies it is not due to his race so stop doing that. He hasn't done such so his silence is acquiesces to the fact he enjoys it being used by proxy of his deranged moonbats.

The picture certainly does not in any way change anyone's already low opinion of the right. No sense of humor, clearly nothing is too weak and/or irrelevant... and you wonder why self-reported republican recognition is at an all-time low?
Maybe it has something to do with this sort of lowbrow crap?
Hardly offensive (at least not in the way you might think - i would contend that it is actually quite offensive to moderate GOPers who aren't brain-dead simpletons, if there are any left on earth), just incredibly juvenile and stupid. Like the GOP in general. See how easily we can marginalize you? Aren't you proud to be the poster children of the lowest common denominator?

I think this is insulting to our standards. We are supposed to be above this. Libs are gonna take this and run with it, and they would justifiably get a lot of mileage out of it.
Posted by: Air2air at November 2, 2009 1:06 PM
"Supposed to be above this?"
Have you ever watched anything on FauxNews? Or list4ened to Rush and his army of clones?
This is exactly on par with expectations. It is stupid, lacks a point, is meaningless whining rather than any actual discussion... and is therefore yet another example of exactly what is wrong with america's 'conservatives'.

Yeah, I can see both points of view about this photoshop, but really, at the end of the day, if you want the kind of world where BDS and innane cries of 'racism' carry no weight, you need to be willing to lead by example.
Conservatives should not stoop to this kind of thing. Let the mockers use their silly tactics, I would much rather be known to stick to boring things like facts. In the future, it will be facts that matter to future generations, not cheap attempts at laughs.
Delete it.

UNFORTUNATELY it is working for them. Like any other war you must know you enemy and fight that kind of war. Just like Vietnam we never fought in jungles before we had to learn how. We know what appeasement gets us.
Posted by: TED at November 2, 2009 6:19 PM
Posted by: TED at November 2, 2009 6:26 PM
I'm not talking appeasement, Ted, just avoiding getting off track. And to further you analogy, I would say that this kind of thing is just fighting them on their terms rather than sticking to ours. It automatically gives them an advantage and/or way to distract from the main game. I don't want to be forced to defend this kind of thing when it is indefensible. It should be deleted, I mean it.
Posted by: Stephan at November 2, 2009 6:35 PM
So we should have cut the jungles down in Vietnam first so we could fight our own war? Hmmmmm, OK. We tried burning them down. We just couldn't get them to agree. Seems to me we didn't have a choice. Here they OWN the media.
Here's another from FreakingNews
Keep it and all others.

Yeah, right. Try googling 'george bush photoshop.' Among the 259,000 results is this charming image of Bush as a vampire sucking the statue of Liberty's blood.
I'm sure you could find some other such charming demonstrations of the left's respect for the office of president by varying the search terms.
Posted by: mandible claw at November 2, 2009 8:16 PM
I think most people, of both parties, respect the office of President. But no, many of us on the right do not respect Obama. I for one do not. I think he's an empty, vapid bullshitter. He would make a great sales manager for a tech company. He's exactly what you'd expect to see when the IT vendor stops by to try to talk you into buying a complete replacement of your laptops, when the ones you have are only 2 years old. He'd be followed by a small army of sales engineers to do all the actual work, since of COURSE the sales guy doesn't have any idea what he's selling because he's too busy reading BMW brochures and looking for a wine cellar that'll fit in his basement. The next thing you know, someone above you falls find him likeable and signs up to buy new Windows7 machines for every single employee at your company, even though you can barely pay the utility bills. Then when the entire system doesn't work, he's long gone, and you're left with a bunch of crap and a lot of voice mails to sales engineers that are now too busy to fix it. That's what Obama is, a sharp but empty sales guy. It's unbelievable that he is President of the US. I have no respect for him, along with about half of the citizenry.

I'll wager 'paget' is also 'Janet' who is posting up racist crap in the comments section. Read paget's post and then Janet's. Striking similarities.

TED, you're the one who's used the Vietnam analogy. I'm not doubting the validity of the tactic there, but this is clearly different. We don't NEED to do this to win. In fact, I would argue it weakens the cred here. I maintain, delete it.

Most of you fine Americans (not YOU trolls!) are in bed by now - but I wanted to pass along my impression of something: Gretta interviewed Hillary on FOX. Damn... Hillary sounded almost like a Reagan Conservative. I couldn't believe my ears. Gretta asked some good questions and Hillary gave what sounded like solid answers - dancing around nothing.
I was shocked.
My opinion of Hillary actually went from -10 to about a -5. IMO - in her role as one who is exposed to people who are even bigger liars that her hubby, she is growing as an American who believes in our traditional role as keepers of liberty.
Okay - you guys may now proceed to crucify me for complimenting The Bitch.
Cheers!
Posted by: Jimbo at November 2, 2009 11:36 PM
Oh - I forget to mention the fact that unlike her little brown boss - Hillary is obviously unafraid of FOX news. You have to give her a point or two for that.

... a year after the November 4 election, the checks and balances the founding fathers built into the US political system to moderate the revolutionary zeal of its early settlers have worked, all too well, to blunt Obama's agenda.
---
The President's agenda was not radical by the standards of most advanced democracies, including Australia. If anything it was modest in its ambitions. But it has opened up the fault lines of American thinking about what has made the nation great.

Durring the viet Nam war, our solders were not alowed to REALLY fight the war. They were not alowed to invade the north. Many of us protested the "Viet Nam Policy" with signs that read 'BOMB HANOI!'. When the north was bombed properly, the commies cried "peace talks!" because they knew that our politicos would not alow bombing durring talks.
Look up the inscription on the North Vietnamese war memorial, it's happening again.
