Morning Briefs: Stuff You've Probably Already Read Somewhere Else

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at November 17, 2009 4:48 AM

Good Morning Campers, Good Morning Left-Wing Trolls with Embarrassing Skin Conditions,

Item Number One: As one would expect in a government run by a Chicago Street Thug, there's much shadiness in the distribution of Government money. A cursory review of money dispensed through the Stimulus (a.k.a. "Debt-Financed DNC Slush Fund") shows millions of dollars are being spent in Congregational Districts that don't exist. Listings at the Recovery-dot-gov website show millions have been dispensed to the 9th and 86th Congressional District (CD) of Arizona which do not exist, the 42nd CD of Connecticut which does not exist, and to districts in Iowa and Oklahoma which also do not exist.

Oh, and the OMB has admitted that a lot of the jobs they were bragging about creating and saved were totally made up, too.

Item Number Two: The Government of Iran has declared that the enemies of its nuclear program have been defeated, and they are pushing full-speed ahead to nuclear armament. I guess they weren't as impressed with the crease in Obama's pants as David Brooks was.

Item Number Three
: It used to be the the best minds came to the USA for opportunity, and capital followed them. But as the USA becomes increasingly over-regulated and over-taxed, the appeal of doing business here diminishes. It's getting so bad under the Obamunists that entrepreneurs and venture capitalists would rather seek their fortunes in China and India than here. That's just plain sad.

Not a stinger, but a good impersonation:

Mom... my nuts!

Comments

Who in their right mind thinks that allowing Iran to go nuclear is a good thing?

Iran is sitting on some of the world's largest reserves of fossil fuel. They don't really have energy concerns.

Why do they need nuclear power? To help usher in the Mahdi.

But never mind that, think of the polar bears.

The stimulus is a minus 3 million jobs.

The program was sold as a macroeconomic program designed to "pump" a massive amount of money into "the economy" as a whole. The intent was to "keep unemployment below 8%" - again, in the economy as a whole.

So, the only numbers that count are the overall unemployment rate of 10.2% and net jobs gained, which is at minus 3 million.

Trying to parse through it and count jobs on individual government projects is 100% meaningless even if it can be demonstrated that the jobs were actually new.

It's kinda like a quarterback saying he "saved or created" 3 first downs and a field goal on that one drive in the second quarter without mentioning that his team lost the game 52-3.

It's ridiculous and the whole concept of counting jobs on a project by project basis shouldn't be entertained at all.

Barry put ACORN in charge of counting saved or created jobs?? The left just can't tell the TRUTH.

My sorry State of Michigan ( unemployment rate getting close to 20% in the private sector) is using its share of the stimulus money scam on bailing out the MEA teacher's union, so I guess they will have to count every job as a "saved" job since not one private sector job will be "created". This on top of the UAW Union TARP money bailout for GM and Chrysler that eliminated many white collar jobs without any goodies for us non-union employees. Now top of my job being eliminated, GM is going to spend my tax dollars on preserving German Union jobs. And people wonder why I will never purchase a GM car again?

How many new Congressional Districts will we find in the 2010 census?

Item Number Three: USA for opportunity.

"But as the USA becomes increasingly over-regulated and over-taxed" the more business's that leave, and that will make our full recovery more remote.
When I first entered the work force in the sixties, we made everything here. Steel, full-throttle car production, we owned the world-wide aircraft industry, Consmumer goods(electronics and appliances), shipbuilding, etc..etc.. the list goes on and on.
We do not produce or make anything much in this country anymore.
Higher taxes and more intrusive regulations will further speed up the demise. Look at what we have coming, Government health care and cap and trade alone will put us well down the road to becoming a Western Europe Social economy.
Then you can factor in Unions and state governments run by democrats and the future looks bleak.
I have always been dismissive of people in the past that said the coming generations will not live as good as we do. Now, I believe it. Three more years of Obama the hole will be so deep we can not climb out.
