Morning Briefs: Stuff You May Have Read Somewhere Else

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at November 16, 2009 4:55 AM

Good Morning Campers, Good Morning Menopausal Men of the Left,

Item Number One: NY Times columnist David Brooks expresses the opinion that "Sarah Palin is an idiot." Consider that this assessment is coming from a guy who decided to support Obama after being wowed by the crease in his pants.

“I remember distinctly an image of–we were sitting on his couches, and I was looking at his pant leg and his perfectly creased pant,” Brooks says, “and I’m thinking, a) he’s going to be president and b) he’ll be a very good president.”

That's what passes for intellectual discussion in the Cult of Obama.

Item Number Two: The deranged harridans of Code Pink are claiming that Nidal Hasan's mass murder was a protest by a "military officer" against the War in Afghanistan. Quoth the Gorgons: "The recent shootings at Ft. Hood ... demonstrate how even our military officers are opposed to US strategy in Afghanistan." Code Pink is simply living up to the motto of the anti-war left "We Support Our Troops When They Shoot Their Officers." Or, vice versa, apparently.

Item Number Three: Democrats are pitching a fit over plans to burn Nancy Pelosi in effigy at an anti-PelosiCare rally in Virginia. I really don't see what the big deal is. Burning politicians in effigy harms no one, and has a long history in political protests. IDK, maybe it's just because Democrats are a bunch of whining cry-babies who consider any criticism of them to be "Un-American."

Personally, I think witch burning is way underrated.

Well they've hung Palin in effigy before. So what's the difference?

I'm sure they've done far worse to Bush and Cheney.

FOTFLMFAO! That vid has to be about the classiest mock-up ad ever from the classiest Star Trek movie ever.

"Quoth the Gorgons", that was worth it all LOL!

For the certain someone who prostrates before a politician based on wardrobe, I happen to have a perfectly manicured seam running down the center of the rear of my jeans, perhaps he could worship that as well.

For Codex Roseus, I think they have an internal battle for who can be the most insane, and they all win.

I have seen Bush, Cheney, Palin, and other nonlibs burnt in effigy before, yet no whinage from the leftist tolerance crowd. I personally am against liberals burning stuff based on the grounds that libs are neaking fruts and should not be allowed to play with fire (or sharp objects), but I do not seek to impose my worldview on others.

Posted by: Frank W. at November 16, 2009 6:43 AM

but I do not seek to impose my worldview on others.

This is a definitive trait of conservatism. The liberal left, through elitist "I know better than you" means, seeks to impose their will on others as opposed to allowing them to make their own choices (based on the merit of the idea).

Who is really to blame for the massacre at Ft. Hood?

The Chosen One had a town hall meeting before students in Shanghai today. No teleprompter. Er ... ah ... um ... er ... ummmm .... Uh ... ohhhh ... er .... Ahhhhhh ... um... duhhhhh ... errr ... um....

He sounded very similar to Axelrod trying to justify being KSM to tour his work in NYC.

Brooks can remember that once she's president...

Sarah Palin's Walmart Strategy

Posted by: TED at November 16, 2009 7:43 AM

I'm not happy with them burning Nancy Pelosi in effigy either - they should get the real thing!

Posted by: TED at November 16, 2009 7:45 AM

"I was looking at his pant leg and his perfectly creased pant,” Brooks says, “and I’m thinking, a) he’s going to be president."

The person that made this statement put much more critical thinking into making a decision about voting for President than some people I know.

Let's face it, a lot of idiots get to vote. And for the sake of revealing their intelligence, they should just keep their pie-holes shut.

Brooks is a jerk still working for the NEW YORK PARROT TOILET,DEMACRATS PITCH HISSIFIT OVER BURNING OF SMANCY NANCY PELOSI IN EFFEGY HEY VIRGINAINS WHY STOP THERE INCLUCE BARACK OBAMA and the DEMACRATIC DONKEY as well AND THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE COMMITY to

Burning effigies are kind of tacky, though. Just because they've done it doesn't mean it's a good idea.

"but I do not seek to impose my worldview on others."

"This is a definitive trait of conservatism. The liberal left, through elitist "I know better than you" means, seeks to impose their will on others as opposed to allowing them to make their own choices (based on the merit of the idea)."

So you are saying that conservatives are pro-choice??

Posted by: robin at November 16, 2009 11:54 AM

Absolutely, conservatives are pro-choice.

We believe parents should be given the choice of where to send their kids to school. Liberals don't.

We believe people should be allowed to freely choose what kind of car to drive. Liberals don't.

We believe people should be free to choose whether or not to have health insurance. Liberals don't.

What conservatives don't believe is that innocent children should be murdered for the convenience of selfish, irresponsible adults.

The link to the effigy burning item is to CNN. Following the article were 250 comments (now closed). About 80% were of the moonbat variety, saying how awful, despicable, and insane the potential event was. Some voices spoke up about the countless Bush, Cheney, and Palin effigies, but of course they didn't respond to those comments.

I still laugh out loud at the crease in the pants thing whenever I see it. I think I'll go find out how to contact Brooks and bring it up.

When I see Obama I have a tingle running up by leg.

>...Nidal Hasan's mass murder was a protest by a "military officer" against the War in Afghanistan.>

I'd like to "protest" like that, but I'm CIVILIZED.

Two tumbs up for the video!

"robin at November 16, 2009 11:54 AM"

Robin reminds us once again that "women's rights" are all about ABORTION. The Sufferagettes and the "Greatest Generation" women are SPINNING in their graves!

Posted by: KHarn at November 16, 2009 2:02 PM

Kharn, shouldn't women's rights also be about making the same wage as males per qualification, being able to have an equal say (vrs being "put in their place"), and having protection from being gang raped from military contractors profiteering from an unneeded war?

Posted by: andy42302 at November 16, 2009 4:12 PM

Good point, Kharn. In fact, most pro- abortion feminists today are unaware of the fact that not only were the early women's rights pioneers very much against abortion, but it was none other than Susan B. Anthony herself who first coined the use of the term "Baby murder" to describe abortion.

"andy42302 at November 16, 2009 4:12 PM"

What PLANET do you live on?
What you're doing is perpetuating the culture of VICTIMHOOD that is keeping women and minoritys under LIBERAL control for the purpose of money and political power.

You suck.
