Morning Briefs: Stuff You've Probably Already Read Somewhere Else
Posted by Gregory of Yardale at November 5, 2009 4:45 AM
Good Morning Campers & Lefty Trolls Who Never Got Past Their Daddy Issues,
Item One: A judge in Airstrip One has ordered that environmentalism be treated as a religion equal to Christianity. The right has long recognized that the green movement has embraced its own mythology, complete with a demon (George W. Bush), a concept of sin (activities that emit carbon dioxide), and an Apocalypse (Global Warming). Now, because of this judge's ruling, if you claim that your environmental beliefs preclude you from doing things your job requires and as a result your employer fires you, you can now sue your employer for religious discrimination.
Item Number Two: Delusional basket case Keith Olbermann is claiming MSDNC is the Number One cable news network. FoxNews has 4 times as many viewers as MSDNC (4,043,000 versus 974,000), but Olby's boyfriend B. Hussein said Fox isn't really a News network, so that makes Olby Queen of the Cable News Channels. (Just like his buddy Dan Rather is Queen of the Space Unicorns.)
Just to remind you, on Election Night, Olby ditched live coverage so he wouldn't have to cover Republican victories in New Jersey and Virginia.
Item Number Three: As you may have heard, Olby's boyfriend B. Hussein, is skipping the celebration of the twenty year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. (After all, it was a defeat for global communism, why would PBO want to celebrate that?) In El Lay, pieces of the Berlin Wall are being displayed in commemoration of the 20 year anniversary. A local artist wanted to place a portrait of President Kennedy on one end of the exhibit to mark the beginning of the wall and a portrait of Ronald Reagan at the other to mark the end. Event organizers were okay with one portrait, but vetoed the other. Can you guess which one they vetoed?
Morning Briefs were not brought to you by Microsoft. Check out what greeted Microsoft employees returning through Sea-Tac airport recently.

Comments
Items 1 and 3 are too depressing to contemplate, but thanks for keeping us informed, anyway. Item no. 2: Sheer goofiness.

Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!
It is fitting that we should remember the most inspiring words of the 20th century, spoken by a man who dared to stand strong in the face of global Communism, and ultimately deliver that evil empire to the ash heap of history.
Ronnie, if you're still with us, we could use your help right now.

Does this mean that they will remove all mentions of it from schools and public forums, and brand its proponents as crazy warmongering humorless whackjobs?

So with the new church of gaia will we now have to recite wacky stanzas before we cut down a tree to placate tree spirits?
