Leftist Critic Slams Palin Without Bothering to Read Her Book

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at November 17, 2009 5:46 AM

In a rare effort at "balance," the Washington Post assigned conservative Matthew Continetti of the Weekly Standard and liberal dingbat Ana Marie Cox of Air America radio to each write review of Sarah Palin's Going Rogue. Apparently, the dingbat didn't even need to read the book in order to write a review that unsurprisingly consisted almost entirely of snarky Sarah-bashing.

I cannot claim to have completely read "Going Rogue" -- I had to skim the last 150 pages (or more than one-third).

Pretty typical for a lefty. They already know their opinions, don't annoy them with facts or expect them to actually investigate the things they bash. (And I would reckon the truth is she only skimmed the first 150 pp and completely blew off the rest) Showing another typical leftist trait --- complete lack of self-awareness --- the blogger who achieved "fame" by writing a blog consisting of nothing but sexual innuendos about political figures accuses Palin of being "all flash and no substance."

I found myself thinking yesterday,"What if Sarah Palin had said no," when McCain asked her to be vice president; as she should have. Before the left hit her with everything they had, she was a popular and successful governor. If she had said no, she could have avoided the smear campaign and avoided the frivolous ethics charges that ultimately left her with a choice between resigning as governor or declaring bankruptcy. She would have had more time to prepare herself for the national stage and could have emerged in 2012 or 2016 as a very potent national candidate.

Perhaps her fatal mistake was hitching her star to the cranky, decrepit gasbag John McCain. On the other hand, a $5,000,000 book deal and big money on the lecture circuit isn't too bad either. Sarah Palin is still far more accomplished than most of the people snarking about how stupid she is... and that includes David Brooks and Ana Marie Cox.

Left-wing idiots froth at the mention of her name.

Mrs. pomalom, a big Palin fan, read these two columns this am at the breakfast table. Much chuckling ensued.

The reason why Obama won was the curious timing of the financial collapse in early September - just after the Republican Convention when McCain Palin had pulled even in the polls. Independents and those in the middle were terrified and decided to take a chance and give the Whitehoue to someone other than a Republican. Many of those people are now suffering from voters remorse.

McCain wasnt a very good candidate, but with Palin there to twist his arm things would not be as bad as they are now. McCains strong point would have been foreign policy, while Palin could have handles domestic issues and keeping the Pelosi-Reid cabal in check. Palins weekness is she doesnt yet have a feel for politics - resigning as governor the way she did was not viewed well (doing it for the people of Alaska and taking a hit for the team kind of sentimental stuff), as her popularity rating dropped alot. She also comes off as too soccer mom-ish.

Then again, maybe its good they lost so Americans can see how much damage a bunch of Neo-Marxists can do. Now that the Marxicrats have control of the government, its all on their heads in 2010.

It's amazing how much the left will attack a private citizen. Conservative women, take a good look at the party "Defending women". They'll protect you until you stop thinking Liberal all the time, then bash you until you are nothing and whatever happens, don't dare speak up.

Elite journalists don't read political books, but instead skim the index to see if their names are mentioned, Limbaugh explained to his national radio audience. Therefore, Palin omitted the index to exact revenge on her tormenters by forcing them to read her book. To her liberal enemies, this was a deed as inhumane as her moose-hunting. (emphasis added)

I for one, would like to hear more from Lynn Cheney and less from Sarah Palin.

You cant belive anything you read in the NEW YORK SLIMES its just another parrot toilet

"It's amazing how much the left will attack a private citizen. "

Huh? So Palin is off limits because she quit being a governor before her term was up?

Palin injected herself into an election and came out in favor of the conservative in NY 23. Other moderate Republicans have had the bulls eye painted on their backs by conservatives and this is likely to have a huge impact in next year's elections.

Palin is the most visible potential leader of this new conservative movement. But, oh, she's a "private citizen" leave her alone!

We don't need no stinkin' moderates.

Since when the facts get in the way of any leftist agenda? Are you kidding? They're too busy cracking eggs and making marxist omelets to read anything longer than an instruction manual for an AK-47.

Burt is correct. She came out in support of candidates in the recent Congressional elections. She has written a book and is going out on a national book tour. She didn't just fold up her tent and go home, so she certainly is not off limits. The vitriol from the left is a bit juvenile (though not at all surprising), but she (and we) had to know it was coming when the book was announced.

The attacks on Joe the Plumber were far more outrageous, since in that case he was just a private citizen. Palin is a public figure, and with that comes certain indignities.

Agree with you to a point, in that receiving criticism is part of the job of being a public figure...

...unless you're a state-run-media-protected Democrat.

"Palin is a public figure, and with that comes certain indignities."

And she is making a hell of a lot of $$ from all the fame that’s goes with the territory.
Somehow I think Sarah can take what they dish-out and still come out on top.

that's = that

Ana Marie Cox is the whoreblogger for hire that collaborated with Washingtonienne's expose' of the sexual habits of Congressmen that was revealed to be a hoax.

Uh-oh. A Palin post!

Calling all moonbats! Swarm! Swarm!

Speaking of Joe, I saw a bumper sticker at my kids' dance studio that said, "Joe the Plumber meet Barack the President" Absolutely disgusting! When I figure out who owns the vehicle it is on, I want to ask him/her why someone, minding his own business, and then confronted by some politician out on a publicity stunt, and asking the pol a simple question, is so theatening and held in such contempt by this politician and his followers? I'll also ask him/her if they'd like a copy of Palin's book, maybe his head will explode!

I would love to nail Palin but that is about it. She's so hot that she could permanently turn me straight.

All I have ever read is Das Kapital and Mao's Little Red Book. Although I didn't quite understand either of them, they made me feel good.

Lefties are so cute when they're terrified.:)

Terrified righties are so cute when they highjack the names of every leftie on this blog because they can't logically explain or defend their own point of view.
