In Honor of Our Servicemen and Servicewomen
Posted by The MaryHunter at November 10, 2009 3:57 PM
Moonbattery.com is honored to salute all veterans and current military this Veteran's Day. Thank you and your families, and God bless you all, for your service and sacrifice.
Video from The FUNSON's channel (which has a good quantity of other interesting videos-probably more so for guys), on a twip from TJ_Hancock

Thank you to all the men and women in uniform.

I just want to take a moment to thank all of the men and women who have served before me, with me, and to thank all of those who will do so in the future.
God Bless and keep all of you, your families and friends.

From a very proud family of volunteers in military service to the United States of America, I salute and thank each and every Veteran who has offered their lives for their country. I'd do it again today, if need be, and I know there are millions more who feel exactly the same way. May God bless and keep you safe, now and forever.

Keep them safe from liberals and Obama.

Senator Kerry was right about what he said regarding the Marines. The same applies to rest of you killers and fools.

As should be obvious from the Highway of Heroes links I just provided, the 5:12 post is from a despicable, name-highjacking troll.
To inject your pathetic politics into a thread like this is disgusting in the extreme. Shame on you.

wooops!
Your still an asshole, Lao.

Are YOU the name highjacker Dave?
Posted by: Lao at November 10, 2009 5:23 PM
LAO;
Kerry PUBLICLY said that he had PERSONALLY commited war crimes. Why have you Liberals not demanded that he be tried?
Sor Veterans Day reading, I suggest "Make The Kaiser Dance"; a record of the memories of one hundred WWI veterans.
Posted by: KHarn at November 10, 2009 5:24 PM
Yes, thank you to all who have ever, are now or ever will serve - I'm humbled by your service.
Thank you to my maternal (deceased) grandfather, USN; father (deceased) USARMY; my cousin, retired navy; nephew, marine reserve sniper; his brother, USARMY; my stepdad (deceased), USAF; an uncle (deceased), USN and many others in my family too numerous to mention.

I would regard it as a strong demonstration of patriotism and respect, if this website's administrators would remove all comments to this thread, including my own, that do not bear directly on thanking the troops of all nations for their sacrifice.
Posted by: Lao at November 10, 2009 5:30 PM
Are YOU the name highjacker Dave?
No Lao I'm not. It's not my style.
I have more class than that.
Posted by: Dave1 at November 10, 2009 5:32 PM
God bless those who are serving and have served this fine Nation, which despite the liberals' efforts, remains the light of the world.
And... Lao at November 10, 2009 5:30 PM
Sorry Lao - You take it a bit far. Veteran's Day is about thanking American Troops for delivering Liberty & Justice - not for thanking stinking communist troops who have tried and are still trying to take it away.

HOOAH!
RE: Posted by: "Lao" at November 10, 2009 5:12 PM
As much as I find myself at odds with Lao's Letterman-Loving Loopy Loony Lemming-Like Leftie politics, I seriously doubt he would write that.
Apparently it is the handiwork of Moonbattery's infamous "Name Hijacker".
Herr Handle-Hijacking Hooligan's Hijinks are getting really tiresome, and are the first step towards Moonbattery degenerating into the kind of nonsense we see on the leftie sites. Whoever you are, please knock it off.

Old Jimbo says, "Veteran's Day is about thanking AMERICAN Troops for delivering Liberty & Justice - not for thanking stinking communist troops who have tried and are still trying to take it away."
Now, I know you're a troop from back in the day, Old Jimbo, and Veteran's Day is what we call it here in the United States of America. This isn't "our" holiday, though - and others celebrate it, too - including our Canadian allies.
In the British Commonwealth, they call it "Remembrance Day". Common British, Canadian, South African, and ANZAC traditions include two minutes of silence at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month (11:00 am, 11 November), as that marks the time (in the United Kingdom) when armistice became effective.
In Australia Remembrance Day is always observed on 11 November, although the day is not a public holiday. Services are held at 11am at war memorials and schools in suburbs and towns across the country, at which "Last Post" is sounded by a bugler and a one-minute silence is observed. In recent decades, however, Remembrance Day has been partly eclipsed by ANZAC Day (25 April) as the national day of war commemoration.

Oh, and OJ, before you call our Canuck cousins a bunch of commies, consider this:
From the commonly cited Wikipedia:
"Canada's role in Afghanistan, consisting of operations against the Taliban and other insurgents in southern Afghanistan (Kandahar Province), has resulted in the largest number of fatal casualties for any single Canadian military mission since the Korean War. A total of 132* members of the Canadian Forces have died in Afghanistan between February 2002 and October 28, 2009. Of these, 111 were due to enemy actions, including 78 due to IED's or landmines, 22 due to RPG, small arms or mortar fire, and 11 due to suicide bomb attacks. Another six Canadian soldiers died due to friendly fire while conducting combat operations. An additional 15 Canadian soldiers have died in Afghanistan as a result of accidents or non-combat circumstances; 6 in vehicle accidents, 2 in a helicopter crash, 2 from accidental falls, 2 from accidental gunshots, 2 suicide deaths, and 1 unspecified non-combat-related deaths.[9][10] More than 360 soldiers have been wounded since 2006.[11]
*In addition to these troop deaths in Afghanistan, 1 Canadian soldier was found dead of non-combat-related causes at Camp Mirage, a forward logistics base in the United Arab Emirates near Dubai."
"Commies", eh?
Posted by: TonyD95B at November 10, 2009 6:30 PM
But you're assuming that the actions of a few people represent the feelings of an entire group.
Isn't Canada famously Liberal?

This is a day to offer thanks to the men and women who serve our country and pray that they all return unharmed. I read that a company called prescription audio is offering their treatment for free to veterans who have anxiety and trouble sleeping. I can't imagine why more companies aren't doing what they can to honor these brave servicemen and women, not just on Veteran's Day, but every day.

To all you buttheads bumping heads--get off your soap boxes.
When I was in the Stryker Brigade (2nd Infantry Division) I served with many individuals from other countries who joined the United States Army. One Canadian, one Italian, two Germans, some Puerto Ricans...among many, many others.
As far as I'm concerned if someone is fighting for Democracy, for God, and for free people everywhere, then I'm honored to celebrate our Veteran's Day with them. Thank you if you want to celebrate with me--I'm honored.
There is a couple who live across the street from me. Three hundred and sixty-five days a year they fly a diversity flag, a peace flag, and a United Nations flag. They have never flown an American flag. I put my American flag and my 'support the troops' signs out today, and I waved to them. After 10 years they are finally beginning to wave back. While I don't like what they are doing I went in the Army to protect their right to be free, and even to be stupid.
I'm not asking anyone to be naive, I'm simply saying it is imperative to speak freely, to forgive, to lead by example, and to honor those who have served and made it possible to do so.
God bless our troops and God bless America

THE PATRIOT MICRO CHIP
is intended to be implanted in terrorists.
The implant is specifically designed to be installed in the forehead.
When properly installed, it will allow the one implanted, to speak to God.
The exact size of the implant will be selected by a well-trained and highly skilled technician.
The implant may or may not be painless. Side effects, like headaches and nausea, are temporary.
Some bleeding or swelling may occur at the injection site.
Please enjoy the security we provide for you.
Best regards,

Why am I not surprised that you think Gay Pride and Earth day are pointless?
Posted by: Aquatarkus at November 10, 2009 10:59 PM
If you want to learn who i really believe are the TRUE heroes, then you will google the following great men:
Marx
Lenin
Stalin
Hitler
Mao
Che
Castro
Mugabe
Chavez
Because THEY are the ones I honor every day and I can't wait until all you Jesus loving, flag waving, law abiding , faithful to your wives, talk radio listening, US Constitution reading freaks get on a box car to Obama's Koncentration Kamps for the FINAL SOLUTION.

Don't you realize Earth Day and Gay Pride are great excuses for me to suck some random strangers dick?
Oh, and let's protest Truth to Power to make sure that billions more gets flushed down the toilet on AIDS research. After all, fags are more important that little brown babies dying in Africa because DDT is nor banned.

You know, I was only joking when I called you a bunch of close-minded, homophobic bigots.
Thank you for taking my cynicism and actually proving me right.
By the way, I have never been to any event that supports Gay Pride, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't happen just because they don't affect me.

Well, whadaya know?! Moonbatty search engine Google has a tribute to Veterans Day on their homepage logo today!! Bing, as usual, has an outstanding photograph honoring veterans on their homepage as well!!
Thanks to all war veterans who have served and continute to serve our country to make our country free for all of us to enjoy.
Every Veterans Day, I think of this poem. For me it sums up the horrors of war and the supreme and ulitmate sacrfice that our service men and service women made and continue to make on a daily basis:
The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner
by Randall Jarrell
From my mother's sleep I fell into the State,
And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze.
Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life,
I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters.
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.
