Giving Thanks for Those Democrat Successes
Posted by The MaryHunter at November 25, 2009 2:25 PM
If the utter lack of progress by Obama and his Democrats in Congress in protecting our nation and improving our economy wasn't humorous enough in and of itself, it is uproarious just how proud the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee appears to be of its record:
DEMOCRATIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Myth: “Democrats haven’t done anything this year.”
FACT: House Democrats and President Obama have delivered more progress for America this year than George Bush and the Republicans did in the last eight. How about:
- The Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act to save and create millions of jobs and provide the largest middle class tax cut in history.
- Improving and expanding health care by providing affordable health care for 11 million children, guaranteeing advance funding for veterans’ medical care, and lifting the ban on stem cell research.
- The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act to finally ensure that women earn equal pay for equal work.
- A credit card holders’ bill of rights to end unfair and anti-competitive practices.
- The House passing landmark legislation to fight climate change, create green jobs, and invest in clean energy.
- And most recently: The House passing the most sweeping health insurance reforms in over a century to finally make health insurance affordable for the middle class.
Oops, seems they've gotten into the eggnog a bit early this year. Each and every one of these bullets can be dismissed and/or refuted. Kind, intelligent readers: enjoy yourselves.
There's even more in the DCCC's Thanksgiving cheat sheet about healt hcare reform "myths" vs "facts", as well as bold proclamations about the 2010 elections, including this gem:
Democrats have won all four Congressional special elections since President Obama was inaugurated. Earlier this month, Democrats defeated Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin’s “tea party” candidate to win New York’s 23rd District for the first time in more than 100 years.
Of course, Doug Hoffman, a boldly conservative candidate who was a political novice, came into the race late, had no RNC backing, and was sabotaged by the GOP-picked RINO candidate, still came within 3,000 votes of the liberal Democrat candidate who was well-financed and supported by the DNC. Don't worry DCCC, Hoffman says he will run again next year -- one would presume with the actual blessing (and deep pockets) of the RNC.
When their giddy, tryptophan-induced post-Thanksgiving slumber wears off, perhaps those silly Democraps will come back to reality.

On a twip from ObamaScare.

This just in: the obooboos and oprah are having a primetime Christmas special. Any suggestion on what they should wear?

They should get Rosanne Barr to promote the Cheat Sheet.... oh, she already is, kind of.
This will make you piss your pants with laughter.
What an Idiot!

UR correct. In fact, it's not needed. Thomas Sowell has written extensively about this fallacy of salary discrimination against women> Article has several other examples of "whys" when there are apparent discrepancies, but this one is the most obvious:
The most blatant fact about male-female differences is often ignored by those on the hunt for discrimination: Women have babies. That usually means interruptions in careers and different choices of careers beforehand, because some occupations can stand interruptions better than others.
Mrs. pomalom indeed worked 2/3 time for over 4 years while we raised our young girls - her choice. And believe me, I was doing lots of at-home Dad stuff during that time, too, still do. It set her back a bit seniority-wise from her male peers who started the same time she did, but not much. (In fact, now she's back full time and, after a promotion, now makes more than I do.)

Accomplishments are things that have positive effects. This list doesn't contain accomplishments, but rather, naive man made disasters that represent a regression towards public dependency on the state.
Posted by: J at November 25, 2009 3:04 PM
Hoffman runs again, Dede doesn't, Owens wins NY 23 by ten points.
Posted by: Burt at November 25, 2009 3:17 PM
Oh yeah, and didja notice Hoffman "unconceded" NY 23 and has now "reconceded" NY 23? Haw!
Posted by: Burt at November 25, 2009 3:20 PM
Jimmy Carter had a list of accomplishments too:
1. Gave away the Panama Canal. Now operated by the Chinese.
2. Took the bold stance of boycotting the Moscow Olympics to punish the Soviets for Afghanistan.
3. Allowed Iran to commit an act of war and with great restraint did nothing for 444 days. Now that's dithering.
4. Tactfully monitored double digit inflation and oil embargoes by assuring the nation how pleasant a warm fireplace and Cardigan are.
5. Brokered Peace between Israel and Egypt. Still no peace. Cost Sadat his life.
All positive in the Democrat's eyes.
The American people expressed their opinion of his accomplishments in 1980. HOPE history repeats itself when CHANGE next comes due.

Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Timothy McVeigh, Lenin, Pol Pot, Nadal Hasan, and Al Queda had quite a few "acomplishments" also....
Acomplishment's DON'T equal success!!

Anytime you have to start off by saying "Myth: I didn't accomplish Jack Shit," you're probably off to a bad start.

I give thanks that Bush is not in office anymore and that things are finally starting to to turn around in this country.
Posted by: Lao at November 25, 2009 5:12 PM
Gosh, how much do you have to hate America to be thankful that unemployment is at 10.2% instead of 5%, and deficits are at $1.5 trillion instead of $200 Billion.
Yeah, things have turned around in "this" country. (Bear in mind, Lao is Canadian.)
Posted by: Anonymous at November 25, 2009 5:43 PM
Bear in mind "Lao" highjacked my name...and does so repeatedly.
Posted by: Lao at November 25, 2009 6:14 PM
Wow Lao "the hijacker" your head is really far up your ass.
Posted by: Gunny G at November 25, 2009 7:22 PM
Sure glad they "fixed" the credit card industry too. Because of their wonderful legislation the credit card companies all jacked their rates up to 29% (at least giving me a great reason to cut up my cards.)
Posted by: Contrarian_Libertarian at November 25, 2009 7:32 PM
What can I say? The whole world is better off without Bush in office. And the other Lao is the fake Lao.
Posted by: Lao at November 25, 2009 7:32 PM
Yes, Bush was, for want of a better word, a retard.
You can't defend him.
Posted by: Anonymous at November 25, 2009 8:04 PM
LAO is using the name-jacker as a shield to cover up his retarded posts.
Nice going, NAME-JACKER, you screwed things up by making it easier for the Liberals to LIE.
Posted by: KHarn at November 25, 2009 8:09 PM
Humm if what Bush haters claim is true then it looks like Harvard graduates retards.
Posted by: IOpian at November 25, 2009 8:12 PM
Bush who? Bush is not the President, and has not been for some time now.
Trolls, the rest of the US just figured that out. That is why Obama's polls, even from the vaunted slanted leftist polling organizations, are tanking towards, um, zero. (I kill myself).
Its amazing how the leftist trolls forget that a Democratic Party Controlled Congress has been in power since '07 and that Obama now owns all the problems.
Why don't the Trolls just say its President Washington's fault. That would have about the same weight of an argument.
Idiots, the Leftists Trolls are.
I really hope the Leftist Trolls are in the 22 to 29 year old age bracket. When they are about 40, and paying over 70% combined taxes on everything to pay for the Great Democratic Fuckup of the 21st Century (your politics will change then), most of them will get a clue.
Oh so sad, too bad to be as blind as you are.....
I laugh in your general direction.... HA!

Maybe Burt missed that Hoffman's final concession was alluded to in the post already. Burt's 10 % math is profound, for a mindless fool that is. Methinks Burt is too inebriated (means drunk) with the Obama Kool-Aid (means Kool-Aid) to be able to think subtle thoughts.

The Democratic candidate won by five points. The Republican candidate, widely seen as more liberal than the Democrat, got five points. What math do you use that tells you the conservative is going to take any of those liberal votes?
Next November, Palin and Rush, far right talk radio and the far right blogs will be spread thin, trying to save conservative necks in races all over the country and definitely not focusing everything and everyone on NY 23.
As election day approaches they will start suffering exploding head syndrome as they realize the great conservative hope of 2010 is going to go down like the Hindenburg. I'll try hard not to laugh too much when it happens.

Earlier this month, Democrats defeated Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin’s “tea party” candidate to win New York’s 23rd District for the first time in more than 100 years.
Where does that lie come from? The Dems held that seat from 1913-1915, then from 1917-1921, then from 1923-1973 and again from 1979-1993. That's 68 of the last 96 years.

KHarn, I think it's already been established that namejacking is fair game. I suspect the reason is that the majority of threads here can't stand up to scrutiny so any tool you guys can conjure up helps you pretend it has validity.
On this day, I'm certainly thankful that the destructive Bush/Cheney years are behind us and we're starting to work our way up from their ashes, regardless of the impeding lunatics that continue to pray for our country's failure.
Posted by: andy42302 at November 26, 2009 7:50 AM
Fred Dawes, did you use to hit the Right Voices site? If so, I was AKA there as John Galt
Posted by: CPT_Caveman at November 26, 2009 8:20 AM
Kharn I presume you have not read enough of my posts to understand that I'm quite happy to stand by what I write. I agree, I "could" spew whatever inflammatory stuff I wanted and blame the highjacker, but that's just not my style. If you pay attention you can see that the highjacker(s) target everyone even remotely associated with the left.
This cheers me up immensely because it means someone on the right is very afraid of what we say, and simply can't rebutt our arguments. It's also pretty obvious, given the frequency of name highjacking, that the person(s) doing it are well-known to everyone on this blog.
I recall a while back when I teased Yardale by adopting the name "Gregory of Yardsale". That post stayed up that way for just minutes and then Yardale or someone else in Moonbattery admin changed that nom de guerre back to Lao.
This leads me to conclude that Moonbattery admin has identified the name highjacker and condones their behavior. So, until demonstrated otherwise, I think it's safe to presume that Andy is correct.
Feel free to name highjack to your heart's content and wave goodbye to any notion that you think you know who has written something.
By the way, any comments you may see from "Lao" in the next four hours will be highjackers, as I am heading out.
Posted by: Lao at November 26, 2009 8:45 AM
Andy's thankful that the real crash is happening now, and we are descending into the ashes of a faux recovery? Did I read that correctly? And deficits that have accumulated faster than at any time in our history?
Wow, I'm sure that future generations will thank you, too, Andy.
As for Lao's last post, what arguments have you made, other than it's Bush's fault?
Posted by: UpNorth at November 26, 2009 12:04 PM
There, there, Lao. Have a good cry, hug your pillow. You'll feel better.
Posted by: Jay Guevara at November 26, 2009 12:36 PM
Laoser,
While I am not the hijacker, he almost never ceases to amuse me. However, he must really get under your skin as you almost always post within minutes of being hijacked. Care much?
As to KHarn's issue of, "Nice going, NAME-JACKER, you screwed things up by making it easier for the Liberals to LIE," please. They lie as a matter of course. They have no moral compass and no appreciation of the word hypocrisy. They need no assistance in lying. It's like breathing for them.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Posted by: Richard C. at November 26, 2009 12:36 PM
Look at it this way: you're getting 0.00000000001% of the crap that George Bush got from you and your ilk. And he never mewled or bleated about it, not once.
