Brazil's da Silva Demands Free Money From "Gringos"
Posted by Van Helsing at November 27, 2009 7:46 AM
The "make someone else pay for all the things I want" mentality that characterizes the base of our Community Organizer in Chief seems to have taken root in Brazil, where moonbat president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has announced that "gringos" should give South Americans free money in the name of the discredited global warming hoax:
Brazil's president said Thursday that "gringos" should pay Amazon nations to prevent deforestation, insisting rich Western nations have caused much more past environmental destruction than the loggers and farmers who cut and burn trees in the world's largest tropical rain forest.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva made the comments just before an Amazon summit in which delegates signed a declaration calling for financial help from the industrial world to halt the deforestation that causes global warming.
"I don't want any gringo asking us to let an Amazon resident die of hunger under a tree," Silva said. "We want to preserve, but they will have to pay the price for this preservation because we never destroyed our forest like they mowed theirs down a century ago."
Imagine if an American leader used an ethnic slur to demand that Latin American countries pay us not to make use of our resources. But in the era of moonbattery triumphant, no extreme of arrogance is out of line for the left-wing miscreants who line up with their hands out. Appallingly, Western nations are already showering Brazil with money looted from taxpayers in the name of Gaia.
Coming soon at Hopenhagen: the Chinese will demand we pay them to stop making all the stuff they sell us on credit.
On a tip from John Knoefler.

De Silva must not remember that it was Brazil that hosted the Rio Summit where the Hoax originated. Screw him, Brazil owes us.

Dear Tom, as a half brazilian/half italian who was born and lived here in Brazil for almost my entire life (I´ve had some pretty civilized periods in pre-Muslim-Italy), I can assure you and your readers: Lula da Silva is the most corrupt, liar, leftopath, ignorant and vulgar president in our whole and sad history.
The fact his government has almost 80% (!!) of approval it's only a tragic evidence that shows how deep we got in this last seven years, and how brutalized we became.
- Keep up the good job!

How ridiculous can you be to demand "gringo" nations to pay you for not cutting down trees? Are they holding the rainforest hostage? It seems this way to me.

I am actually torn on this one. I sincerely despise Lula, and yet in this case I can sort of see an angle I agree with. He is referring to the hippie 'save the rain forest' types, and not those of us that don't see harm in responsible harvesting of of natural resources. We don't have this problem, because we also have most of the hippies. Imagine for a moment that we actually had the political will to drill for oil, and the rest of the world is telling us not to.
All that being said, Lula's term is up soon, and his party is done like dinner. The Governor of Sao Paulo is looking good for his successor, and he is a solid capitalist.

Let's compromise: We WON'T pay them for "global warming" and NOT BUY any wood cut from the Amazon forrests or any manufactured products made in the poluting factorys of the Amazon countrys.
What was that, de Silva? Your country will suffer ecconomicly if we do that? Tough. A good ecconomy or "saving the Earth", you made your choice.

Exactly how much untaxed money is sent back home to South and Central America by illegals working in North America? My wager is billions. Seems to me their economy is already being bolstered by us.

Hmmmm, it seems that we're gaining forest, don't think we're the problem
Historical trends show that the standing inventory (the volume of growing stock) of hardwood and softwood tree species in US forests has increased continually over the past five decades—by 49 percent between 1953 and 2006.http://www.eforester.org/publications/americanforests/StateOfAmericasForests.pdf page 25
theres also a nice chart (or 2) on page 26

Didn't Rio hold some sort of "Earth Summit" in 1992, a few months after Saddam Hussein caused one of the greatest environmental disasters in history? Did da Silva hit up Saddam for reparations? Just wondering.

That's gringa to you Senor da Silva, as in "Kiss my gringa arse, faz favor. Obrigada!"

So Mother Nature needs a favor?! Well maybe she should have thought of that when she was besetting us with droughts and floods and poison monkeys. Nature started the fight for survival, and now she wants to quit because she's losing. Well I say, hard cheese.

Ironic, isn't it Smithers? This anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election, and yet if I were to have them killed, I would be the one to go to jail. That's democracy for you.
