A Tearjerker Argument for ObamaCare
Posted by Van Helsing at November 20, 2009 9:40 AM
Here's a tragic tale of the sort of lifestyle that really ought to be coercively financed by others via Big Government:
When an ambulance brought Daniel Webb home from the hospital after he hurt his knee in March, paramedics warned the then 550-pound man he probably wouldn't be able to get up from his recliner if they put him there, his wife said.
Webb told them to leave him there anyway. He would sit in that recliner, slowly dying, for the next eight months. Finally, paramedics were called back to his Greenwood home on Wednesday because he was in a lot of pain.
Webb's body was physically stuck to the power recliner and firefighters had to cut him from the chair to take him to the hospital. He died a few hours later, his body covered with sores and a "very bad odor," according to a police report.
Webb, 33, didn't ask for help for all those months, because he was ashamed and didn't have health insurance, said his wife, Ada. He slept and used the bathroom in his chair and she cleaned it every day. …
Webb's mother was the one who placed the final call to paramedics. Not only did crews have to cut apart the chair, but they had to cut a hole in the wall of the couple's mobile home about 70 miles west of Columbia [South Carolina] to get him out. A police report said he weighed about 800 pounds, but his wife said he was closer to 500 pounds.
If only he could have held on to see Obamao et al. provide free healthcare to everyone, Webb might have lived to make half a ton — unless being overweight put him last in line for rationed care.
On a tip from heckrulz.

Someone's got to say it. Where's the downside here? One LESS parasite to bleed us.

Was this man collecting Social Security / Disability?
Most people are forced to weigh less than 800 pounds, you know, so they can go outside and get a job. Only government can allow somebody to stay at home all day, crapping themselves in a chair, and only moonbats would suggest a person like that needs more government.
People who weigh 800 pounds and don't work would surely bankrupt the system, which is why it is necessary to threaten healthy workers between 18-30 with prison if they don't immediately sign up and begin financing moonbattery through payment of insurance premiums far in excess of their actual risk for a plethora of services far in excess of their desire to spend.

Wow, this idiocy will be on my dime? Typical liberalism. "Can it be solved by the government?" instead of "why is he weighing 800 pounds in the first place?"

He slept and used the bathroom in his chair and she cleaned it every day.
I am going to stay on my couch for a couple of months and take a dump on the floor next to it. I am sure my wife wouldn't mind cleaning it up every day.

Of course she cleaned it every day!
That's why he was so stuck to the chair that they had to cut it apart to get him off.

Here's a thought: divert some of the food budget into buying health insurance.
I know. It's a gift.
