United Nations to Investigate USA for Human Rights Abuses

Posted by Van Helsing at October 26, 2009 8:09 AM

The club of corrupt dictators to which Comrade Obama will soon sacrifice American sovereignty has launched an investigation into human rights abuses in the USA. Our crime? Not forcing enough people to pay for other people's housing:

For those of you who have never even heard of a "Special Rapporteur," you may be surprised to find out that one has been appointed by the United Nations (UN), under a special mandate from the UN Human Rights Council (the successor to the corrupt and anti-Israel UN Commission on Human Rights), to open a probe — for the first time ever — into human rights violations by the United States because of a perception that there isn't enough affordable public housing in urban areas.

Socialist thugs like those running the UN Human Rights Council don't believe in real rights — the right of free speech, the right to own property, the right to bear arms, etc. They believe in special privileges that cannot possibly be rights because they violate the rights of others. A prime example is Comrade Obama's belief, stated openly in a presidential debate before he was elected, that you have a "right" to have the government confiscate someone else's property to pay for your healthcare. Another example is the "right" to housing on other people's dime.

If you don't have a right to your own property — not the property the government hands you after stealing it from its rightful owner, but the property you earned — you have no rights at all, but only favors that bureaucrats can grant or rescind. A pig at a hog farm is granted a stall by the farmer. But the pig doesn't own the stall; the farmer owns it, and owns the pig too. When it suits the farmer's purposes, the free stall and free pig slop disappear, and the pig is made into pork chops.

Since America's rulers have not yet succeeded in reducing us to the level of pigs on a hog farm, our country must weather the righteous judgment of a Human Rights Council whose members include bastions of liberty like communist China, Cuba, and Saudi Arabia.

Special Rapporteurs can only conduct their sanctimonious show trials in countries that invite them in. Now who would want to see America denounced to the World Community for not being sufficiently collectivist? Here's a clue — he looks kind of like this:

obama-UN.jpg

By the way, one quarter of the UN's budget is expropriated from American taxpayers.

Here's a glimpse of UN Special Rapporteur Raquel Rolnik, who wants to impose her Marxist ideology on the USA:

We got the better of the Nazis and the Soviets, only to allow ourselves to be conquered by gnats.

I hope she finds this country to be an unconscionable violator of human rights. Then I hope all the down trodden are carried off to better countries. I'll help load their bags.

I know it's hindsight, but instead of those towel noggins flying planes into NYC's WTC...

The silver lining of the BHO regime is that not only are the media propagandists out in the open, so is the UN. Never again can either convince thinking Americans that they are not the enemies of this country, never again.

Until the law-abiding citizens quit being so law-abiding and start acting like irate Muslims, this sort of nonsense will only get worse.

Move the UN to some place like Geneva, then nuke it or bury it in an avalanche. Its as worthless as the League of Nations was.

Posted by: Mousey Tongue at October 26, 2009 9:53 AM

Nope -- it's more worthless because it can actually affect Americans.

The American people are starting to wake up and finally understand that the right to own property and engage in gainful labor is wholly incompatible with the redistribution of wealth.

To permit redistribution, one must accept the fact that the government has the right to confiscate property by force, without any regard to or limitation from the honest value of the public services the government provides to that taxpayer. For most of this nation's history, the fair value test kept taxes reasonable and based on the idea that government was only entitled to tax revenue to cover the cost of providing the most narrow of essential services.

Once you accept the notion that government can redistribute wealth in the name of social justice, there is no limit on the taxes it can levy. Redistributing 10% of your wealth is no different than redistributing 75% of wealth, since each standard is based on the arbitrary whims of bureaucrats and corrupt politicians. Once you accept redistributionist logic, you have granted your sanction to the government that you will live off what they permit to remain.

Yes, once you accept entitlement-based redistribution, you also accept the idea that you are permitted to spend or save what is left. This is fundamentally incompatible with property rights.

Think about that for a second. Is what you earn by your own labor yours, or is what remains after tax a "blessing" the government permits you to have. You make the call.

Move the UN to some place like Geneva

No, no, too Eurocentric. I'm thinking...Lagos, Nigeria. Perfect. Mogadishu would also suit.

Btw, "Democracy Now!" is a well-known Communist front organization.

This is dead in line with Obama's persistent slighting of his own country.
He will use the report to say, "See I told you, the US stinks, now listen to my plan again to fix it."
I take no credit for this prophecy. I read in in my cup at the Gypsy Tea Rooms.

Let's move all of the homeless people into the UN building.

Posted by: LittleMissPerfect at October 26, 2009 3:21 PM

Actually, the UN also has a location in Geneva.

What does the right to own property mean to people so poor they can't even afford an apartment, let alone a gun?

Or is it "communistic" to think about the poor or to conceive of the thought that being poor is not the exclusive result of personal failure?

Posted by: Havlová at October 26, 2009 3:34 PM

No one is saying that poverty is solely based upon personal fault. There are many reasons that people are poor from acquired disabilities, to congenital physical or psychological defects and so on.

However, the issue here is that the able minded and able bodied should not be be forced by government mandate to have their hard earned wealth and property stolen (i.e. taxed) to take care of these people and those that are just plain too lazy to work and are gaming the system (fraudulent claims, tort lawyers, etc).

There are numerous charity organizations that can and do care for people who are impoverished or disabled. They are paid for with donations made willingly by individuals not forcibly taken without consent of the people.

While we're on the subject, government ran programs are inherently corrupt and wasteful. Case in point, when politicians and activists need a villain, facts aren't at the top of the list of things are concerned about.

So it really shouldn't come as a surprise that health insurance companies (EEEVEELLL CAPTITALIST PIG DOGS!) aren't exactly the profit machines liberals have made them out to be.

According to this AP Factcheck story, health insurance companies had a 2.2% profit margin on average which puts them in 35th place on Fortune's top 500 industries.

By comparison, railroads return a 12.6% profit margin. Somehow Free Rail Shipping for Everyone! hasn't become a political hot button.

Medicare, which is supposed to be the shining example of how the government can run health care better than anyone is ripped off of about $60 BILLION a year in fraud.

How can that be? There's a simple explanation according to this 60 Minutes interview with Medicare Director Kim Brandt.

So, next time you start thinking that governments and their assorted ax-revenue gobbling apparatuses and useless, windowless monads like the U.N. are there to helping everyone, that they are capable of helping everyone and consistently maintaining a quality level of of said help think back on these two items.

Posted by: SK at October 26, 2009 4:00 PM

Sorry. That should have said:

"...assorted tax-revenue gobbling apparatuses..."

Posted by: SK at October 26, 2009 4:05 PM

No one is saying that poverty is solely based upon personal fault.

Nope. Nor, of course, the converse: that poverty is never based on personal fault.

Some people are struck down by cruel Fate, through no fault whatever of their own, such as congenital defects, horrific accidents, and nasty (unavoidable) diseases. Everyone's heart goes out to them.

Cruel Fate, however, does not include being work shy, and an unwillingness to persevere to overcome superable obstacles. Those are character defects, and their owners need a vigorous butt-kicking.

"Or is it "communistic" to think about the poor or to conceive of the thought that being poor is not the exclusive result of personal failure?" @Havlova

It IS communistic to force people to 'help' others as determined by you (or anyone else). When you take from one person by force and give to another that is the road to ruin.

The poor people in this country were really no better or worse off than today after we spent over 5 Trillion dollars on 'fixing' poverty. The difference is that some bureaucrat selects who and what gets the money instead of individuals donating to a charity they like. Robbery is still robbery no matter what fancy clothes you dress it up in.

"There are numerous charity organizations that can and do care for people who are impoverished or disabled. They are paid for with donations made willingly by individuals not forcibly taken without consent of the people."

You're forgetting, liberals hate charity organizations. Last week, I got into a Youtube debate with an obnoxious, pretentious, pseudo- intellectual Anarchist (I first became aware of his mind- numbing, repetitive videos after stumbling across a video of his in which he defended a bunch of his fellow Anarchist scumbags who crashed and ruined a 9/11 memorial) regarding a video of his in which he bashes the notion of charitable giving. He was saying some crap about how it's just done out of pity by the evil rich boogeymen who supposedly "Stole" the money from the people. I tried to call him out on it, and get him to suggest his own solutions, but he just ignored what I wrote and launched into the same old class- warfare litany he does in 99% of his videos.
