Unbelievable: CNN Fact Checks SNL Obama Skit

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at October 5, 2009 5:36 PM

Does anyone remember any Bush sketch ever being fact-checked by CNN? Well, maybe that's because Bush wasn't worshiped like a bronze demi-god by the slobbering cultists of the Mainstream Media.

Hot Air has the video.
Just to make sure the fawning was complete, they threw in a gratuitous slam on Sarah Palin, naturally. If CNN feels the need to fact check something, how about Wolf Blitzer's Jeopardy answers?

Meanwhile, the rest of the MSM is showing their class by promoting the rumor that Glenn Beck's mother committed suicide. Stay classy, mainstream media.

I heard that CNN plans to do the same for Caption This!

"Sarah Palin's impersonation was dead on".

Gee whiz CNN, is that opinion too I presume?

Posted by: Pete at October 5, 2009 5:54 PM

This is incredible.

Even for a propaganda worship machine with no perspective, this should be perceived as small potatoes.
Guess not. Don't these creeps have anything at all better to do than to try and cover BO's precious, exposed rear-end?
I suppose next we'll be treated to a round of how to best properly portray Dear Leader when referencing him on TV. So when does BO's Little Red Book come out as required reading for all citizens?

This is what a nascent Pravda looks like in America.

Keep it going liberals; you and your svelte dimwit are going to be relegated to the dustbin of history soon.

I stopped watching after the "reporter's" opinion regarding Mrs. Sarah Palin. These rat shit reporters are the reason why the other news outlet's ratings are in the garbage. It's clear that they are too f'ing stupid to ever realize that. Forgive me for swearing.

What insanity. What more proof do we need that CNN is litterally a propaganda machine? Isn't that supposed to be illegal? Fact checking... a spoof? Adding the obligatory Palin insult? What twisted world are we living in?

Posted by: Jay B. at October 5, 2009 7:13 PM

So, after berating SNL for exposing fact, they then offered an opinion (as though that supports their "clarification" of the "wrong facts").

Braindead.

The SNL skit wasn't exactly "Right Wing", either. Note the "Glenn Beck / Nazi Germany / Communist Russia / Hateful Rhetoric" references, and the Moonbatty checklist.

Yeah, they were making fun of President Obama, but I would hardly call that skit an "attack'.

This is just another example of Leftist paranoia. They won't tolerate anything remotely resembling criticism. They're really, really sensitive about it.

As Sun Tzu once said, ".....If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant....."

Sounds like a plan.....

Awww, be fair! Don't you remember all the times CNN took Will Ferrell to task for his inaccurate portrayals of President Bush? Oh, wait. Neither do I.

This clip would be hilarious if it weren't so scary.

Posted by: ruddie at October 5, 2009 7:33 PM

"...Dead on about Sarah Palin", but "not a fair portrayal of how Obamas done"...

"Saturday Night Live is a very important factor in how people get information about American Politics..."

Oh please....The fact that Communist News Network even ran this demonstrates nervousness on someones part....They hear footsteps...

Not "unbelievable," UFB!

Posted by: ToddonCapeCod at October 5, 2009 8:03 PM

SNL = still not funny, but it sure has made a joke out of CNN.

Posted by: Paul at October 5, 2009 8:33 PM

@ Paul

SNL = still not funny, but (scratch 'it shure' and insert CNN) CNN has made a joke out of CNN.

Fixed it for ya......LOL

"No Comment" from the White House speaks volumes.

...of course, 'with an echo'...caused by the emptiness of this Administration.

Micheal Moore in a MR BILL type skit DOING A MOVIE HAVE THE PART WHERE A STAMPEDE OF RABID SANDERLINGS OOOOHHHH NNNNOOOO KER-SPLAT

Rahm called Ted Turner and ordered this up, I'd bet money on it

Posted by: Reaganite Republican at October 6, 2009 12:54 AM

Good Lord...

Since when did CNN give a crap about the factual representation of anything on SNL?

Oh yeah, since about January of 2009.

Posted by: SK at October 6, 2009 3:14 AM

Aww, for chrissakes, I'm sure that the President can take a joke. Isn't that supposed to be the ultimate compliment anyway? You know you're someone or have gotten somewhere when you've been parodied? (Or on the cover of MAD magazine?)
There's a phrase radio jocks used in doing morning show humor when the joke went over some people's heads; it was said "the joke was too hip for the room." This is a fine example of a joke being "too hip for CNN". Jeez.
Lighten up, CNN. Damn!

Posted by: Murff at October 6, 2009 3:49 AM

SNL should do a parody of CNN fact-checking their skit.

Posted by: Judith M. at October 6, 2009 5:09 AM

It is simply idiotic, their fawning for Obama is now that even jokes aren't tolerated. What about the constant Bush skits? Those were applauded and no one batted an eye in the White House, heck, Cliton and Bush sr. were spoofed too. A news network CORRECTING a SPOOF then offering its own opinion by attacking Sarah Palin? It's clear to anyone that CNN is finished the moment Obama's out of the white house, they spent every ounce of credibility on their president!

Posted by: Jay B at October 6, 2009 5:40 AM

Words fail, but capitol idea, Judith M!

Posted by: Karin at October 6, 2009 6:02 AM

Posted by: TED at October 6, 2009 9:20 AM

Karin: I believe that is "Capital", with an "a". I'm not a grammer nazi but I was reading PG Woodhouse's "Stiff upper lip, Jeeves" on the toilet this morning and he used the word in that manner.

Whomever that is playing the role of Obama, he sure sucks. Danna Carvey playing Bush #1 made me laugh something ferocious.

Posted by: Travis at October 6, 2009 10:53 AM

But apparently still okay for CNN to drag out Sarah Palin (who was never given the courtesy of a fact check on the ALLEGED comment " i can see alaska out my back yard"); what a bunch of hypocritical morons. And their "expert" says it's a cause for alarm since "many Americans get their political news from Saturday Night Live"...thats even scarier...although not surprising since they are a lot closer to reality than CNN is...it's really actually amusing.

Posted by: dave mcmillan at October 6, 2009 12:44 PM

Travis:
Bad form to correct email grammar. Typos occur all the time.

You do not excuse yourself by a disclaimer of not being a "grammer nazi"

And, BTW, the word is "grammar" not "grammer" while, stylistically, "nazi" is usually "Nazi" for effectiveness, and "Woodhouse" is actually "Wodehouse" and "Stiff upper lip" is capitalized throughout.

People in glass houses.

This is too funny! SNL has been poking fun of US Presidents since the show started. So now Obama is different? CNN is such a third rate Obama fluffing net work.

Reinforces the reason I don't have cable or satellite. It's not worth the money.
