That Government Stimulus Money? Not Workin'
Posted by The MaryHunter at October 2, 2009 12:00 PM
A curious article was featured just below the fold on the Washington Compost front page -- curious in its apparent honesty (if tempered with a hint of innocent "how could this be happening" ignorance). You see, it reports what was stunningly obvious any sensible conservative or libertarian: the porkulus was never going to help our economy.
The fragile economic recovery has relied heavily on government stimulus spending, but new data show that as the money runs out, a sustained rebound may be elusive.
Hm. Elusive.
The government's wildly popular "Cash for Clunkers" program drove consumer spending to its highest level in eight years in August. But after it ended, so did the growth in auto sales.
Failure. After. Failure. Great hopes, fueled by the Cheerleader-in-Chief Obama... dashed. Sound familiar?
Weekly jobless claims rose more than expected, a sign that businesses are still concerned about the future. The monthly unemployment rate, scheduled for release Friday, is expected to rise, albeit at a slower rate. [Update: unemployment did rise, to its highest level since 1983.] Consumer loan delinquencies remain at record highs, and manufacturing growth has slowed.
That stimulus money sure went places, didn't it: toward a Democrat power grab, as predicted. The few positive economic reports -- increased new home sales and increased consumer spending on non-durable goods -- were largely due to historically low interest rates and back-to-school spending in August.
Statism and Socialism: one economic defeat after another, in country after country, time and again. Proven as incapable of growing anything except government, but thoroughly capable of stifling economic recoveries. Period.

On a tip from Penelope.

Derb.

Double derb.

Not sure how Obama can be a fascist and a socialist at the same time when the two are diametrically opposed...
Not sure how Obama can be a socialist when he's not even a liberal.

Anonymoose throws up a Leftist smokescreen with, "Not sure how Obama can be a fascist and a socialist at the same time when the two are diametrically opposed...
Not sure how Obama can be a socialist when he's not even a liberal."
Whiskey.....Tango.....Foxtrot.
"Diametrically opposed"? "Not a Liberal"??
What ARE they putting in that Kool Aid?

If you'd like to know the connection between fascism and socialism, you should check out the biography of one Benito Mussolini, not to mention the pedigree of the NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers Party).

As soon as Obama won the Presidential election and he was still riding high he shoved that Bill down our throats - it's only purpose is to feed the Democratic Party machine. Securing a practically limitless amount of money for the Democratic Party machine was his first priority - America be damned. He lied to us about it's purpose and we're going to be paying for it for generations. For this reason alone he and the entire kleptocracy he's a part of should be tarred, feathered and ridden out of here on rails.

Yes, the "fascism on the right" meme was always a confabulation of the communists in order to distance themselves from the relationship. They're actually very much the same if not entirely identical, differing mainly in the nationalism vs internationalism aspect. German communists were ordered to vote for the Nazis, figuring they could deal with them after the authoritarian state had been established. That didn't work out, but Stalin didn't mind signing treaties with Hitler.

Just slung that in didn't you? Fascism was not part of the post.
But in case you are really interested. Fascism, Communism, National Socialism, Socialism, Liberalism have more in common with each other than they have with democracy.

Now, as far as the "stimulus" money, it was never intended to stimulate the economy. A lot went to pay off the people that got this dipshit elected, the rest is just to grow the national debt to an unsustainable level and cause economic collapse. That's what he really wants, so he can finally establish his socialist workers' paradise, never to be disestablished.

Awesome, FreeWillie, welcome to the club! Got me a well set up M4 and an AR15 set up like the old A1's from Vietnam, triangle stock and all.

My God are you an uneducated imbecile. I suppose you can't be blamed, having to sit through years of leftist propaganda in our school system these days.
You should make yourself aware, that the world's most famous fascists, The Nazi Party of Germany, were socialists.
The formal name of their party was The National Socialist German Workers' Party, which eerily has a decidedly modern American Democratic ring to it, doesn't it?
Seriously, educate yourself before you start engaging in conversations which are entirely over your head. And by the way, skip the worthless Wikipedia when you do so.

He progressive moron, you are aware that Obama belonged to the socialist New Party of Chicago, aren't you?

@Mr EvilWrench
Not my first, my friend. Actually my fifth (got all of them). The good thing about the downturn in the economy is that people want to sell all kind of things to survive. Cash rules.
This one has a Colt upper (CM casting) with a 20" barrel. Bushmaster lower (NEW!) with the TeleStock. It's like brand new!

Fascism should rightly be called Corporatism, as it is the merger of corporate and government power.

North Korea is also known as "The DEMOCRATIC People's Republic". But it's still a commie crap-hole.

Apparently none of the whiz kids on Team Obama realized that an economy choked by lack of loans and borrowing would tank hard if the government soaked up all the available credit.
By 2012, we'll be lucky if there's anything more left of this economy than smoldering little bits with these economic illiterates.

So let me get this straight. You're saying dipping a bucket into a lake & filling it with water.....then running to the other end of the same lake and pouring the water in...doesn't raise the overall water level of said lake?
Wow. Who knew?

Not sure how Obama can be a fascist and a socialist at the same time when the two are diametrically opposed...
Not sure why you're bothering to draw a distinction between the two when they're both on the left, both involve government control of things best left to the private sector...
Not sure how Obama can be a socialist when he's not even a liberal
Not sure why you're bothering to comment further, since you just admitted "socialist" and "liberal" are essentially the same....
Not sure why most every stupid idiotic dumbass comment on here is posted by "anonymous" when it's so easy to register a screen name...

Securing a practically limitless amount of money for the Democratic Party machine was his first priority - America be damned.
Considering that the last democratic president sold classified nuclear technology to Red China for campaign contributions, the porkulus was just par for the course, I'd say.

Pick up a copy of Mein Kampf sometime, dumbass. You want to say something so asinine and then lecture others about "reading?"
Piss off.

*GASP* Well I'll be dashed.
I sure find it funny how all this nonsense going around is so blatantly obvious to some of us, while others will never paddle through the fog that is liberalism; not because they don't want to, but rather they can't.
