Obamunists Fudge the Numbers on Spendulus Jobs

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at October 29, 2009 9:10 AM

We now find that the Government's accounting of jobs "created or saved" by the Spendulus makes Enron look like Rain Man.

The government has overstated by thousands the number of jobs it has created or saved with federal contracts under the president's $787 billion recovery program, according to an Associated Press review of data released in the program's first progress report.

A Colorado company said it created 4,231 jobs with the help of President Barack Obama's economic recovery plan. The real number: fewer than 1,000.
A child care center in Florida said it saved 129 jobs with the help of stimulus money. Instead, it gave pay raises to its existing employees.
Elsewhere in the U.S., some jobs credited to the stimulus program were counted two, three, four or even more times.

You almost have to feel sorry for the poor suckers who really believed Chairman Zero's presidency represented a new age of transparency, responsibility and accountability in Washington.

But remember, Government will make health care run efficiently, effectively, and save money.

On a slightly related note, CNN is reporting that analysts at Edmund's have found Cash for Clunkers cost the taxpayer $24,000 for each additional sale

Why?

As expected, "[analysts] say the pricey program resulted in relatively few additional car sales."

Obama et al. are also fudging the GDP increase numbers. There has not been any increase in any purchasing other than government purchasing. This, of course, with money borrowed from our grandchildren.

All this right before a few critical elections, of course. Think the voting public will buy it?

Yes, I heard about these job fraud numbers on the radio news. Apparently, a job was "created" on the scorecard with each new order placed. As in , 5 workers gets 1 order= 5 jobs. Next order comes in, 10 jobs. Next order, 15 jobs. And so on.

Pomalom, thanks for pointing out the double post. MT has not been my friend today.

As the story goes, this is the government we deserve. Just think, if liberalism were to be recognized and treated like the mental disease that it is, then we wouldn't be in this situation, and the country wouldn't be headed down this horrible path.

As always with liberal demacrooks twist the numbers to get the results you want the leftist news media dose it all the time

Obama, et al. are also fudging the unemployment numbers. Workers who have given up seeking work, accepted part-time employment in lieu of full-time employment, taken early retirement, are self-employed but without any work, or are defrauding disability programs are not included in the official jobless tally.

This isn't "fudging" - it is just flat lying.

If they use the same method to figure out the success of their health care bill they will be bringing people back from the dead.

Almost, but not quite. Actually, I'd like to revoke their suffrage. The mush-minded 53%-ers have demonstrated that they're not mature enough to handle the responsibility of choosing our leaders. It's time to restrict the privilege (not the right, mind you) of voting to adults who have demonstrated a knowledge of history and civics and who aren't swayed by demagoguery.
