Obama FAIL! No Chicagolympics! (CNN Anchor Incredulous!)

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at October 2, 2009 9:13 AM

A lot of people assumed that there was no way Obama was stupid enough to put his prestige on the line by going to Copenhagen --- ignoring the rising unemployment figures or the disaster-in-progress in Afghanistan --- to shill for getting the Olympics for his purported hometown (a multibillion dollar jackpot for the corrupt crony Democrat political machine in Chicago) unless the fix was already in. No way would he be stupid enough to risk the humiliation of failure.

A lot of people were wrong. Obama was that stupid. And listen to the incredulity with which one of his media fluffers greets the news that his little bronze god has failed.

You would need a heart of stone not to laugh at the brokenhearted liberal Obama-cultists and Daley Machine cronies wandering around today, wondering how this could have happened, and more importantly, how they can blame it on Bush.

Or maybe the IOC was just racist.

Update: If President Dum-Dum can't talk the IOC into bring teh Olympics to Chicago, how can he talk Iran into giving up nukes?

Update II: A little music for the Obama Olympic bid.

Im sure the Klingon Bird of Prey will land at Andrews at 3am in the dead of night and the Obamas will scuttle into the Whitehouse like cockroaches wearing disguises so the media wont be around to ask about Obamas latest Epic Fail!

It was also nice to see Tokyo lose out due to that crackpot who claimed 2016 could be the last Olympics due to Global Warming.

Posted by: Ghost of Kahless at October 2, 2009 9:29 AM

Given the logistics disaster that was the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta - not to mention that Games' phenomenon of ubiquitous corporate logos plastered on every stationary object within 200 miles (The "McDonald's" detour railings were my favorite) - I don't think the US will be hosting a summer Olympics for a while, especially in a city that already has traffic problems.

Can the taxpayers now be reimbursed for the money that was wasted flying the failure-in-chief and his failure of a wife to Copenhagen?

Posted by: obamasux at October 2, 2009 9:31 AM

I'm sure the faithful gathered at Daley Plaza thought they were going to have another worship service like the one they had in November, in Grant Park. LOL. This just made my day. Do you think they cleaned up after themselves this time? NOT.

I bet Obama thought he was going to bring home a shiny victory he could talk up for the rest of his only term. He's batting O-for-everything his whole time in office.

Somebody needs to tell cartoon boy that Afghanistan is not a 'disaster in progress.' The only people who think that are the generals on the ground. And they were stupid enough to get sent there in the first place because they didn't study enough.

Apparently he was too busy watching Family Guy when the statists were saying the same thing about Iraq! And when the statists object to the surge and said it was doomed to fail. Which it didn't. Stupid birthers.

Perfect post summantion from a poster on HotAir:

Remember this moment my friends, and remember it well. Come 2010, you will feel this exasperation and disbelief when both houses lose most of their democratic seats. Still, the liberals just don’t get it. Look to healthcare tank, cap and trade fizzle, and any future TARP bill coming down the pike crash and burn. When the time comes, even Ralph Nader will poll better than Obama.

bryherb and lonestar, Not to get off-topic, but the best thing that could happen to Obama is if the Republicans took the House and Senate in 2010. They would block the worst of his policies and restore fiscal discipline. His moonbat base would rally to him in 2012.

This is just another in a long string of Obama's dismal failures and expensive broken promises.

Record high unemployment, the Vietnamization of Afghanistan and they First Lady's horrific fashion sense have America back on her heels.

All on can do is VOTE THEM ALL OUT -- ASAP, and boycott state-run media.

Posted by: Joe Lender at October 2, 2009 10:00 AM

The Democrat Machine must be crushed! This was a chance for graft and corruption on a massive scale, even by Chicago standards, and it was stolen away from them at the last moment. Apparently Chicago has gotten complacent - it must no longer be the world leaders in back-room dealing and taxpayer fleecing.

I live about 90 miles away from Chicago, and I still have family in the area. While it would be undoubtedly cool to have the Olympics in my backyard - I've always loved the Olympics - I shudder to think of the horrible snarl the Games would have turned Chicago into, and the billions of dollars wasted on politically connected insiders over and above the actual costs to host the Games. Throw in the fact that the IOC is a politically-correct liberal feel-good society - you know, like Chicago politics - and I couldn't be happier to watch His Majesty, His Wife, and His Jester (Oprah Winfrey) come back to America with egg on their faces and their considerable tails between their legs.

I'd like to think that this would have some profound impact on His Majesty, to the effect that the world, on the whole, really isn't that into him, that everything he touches doesn't turn to gold, and that perhaps, just possibly, he really is naked. But I know better than that, for a narcissist of his caliber needs more than a simple snubbing to sway his confidence in his own magnificence. I'd also like to think that the level of corruption in Chicago is such that even the IOC though it excessive, but I have no more confidence in them than I do in His Majesty, so that can't be true either.

So then, to Madrid and Rio, I wish you both luck. This is one competition where the loser turns out to be the winner in the end.

Hilarious quotes from the Obamabots

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/O/OLY_CHICAGO_2016?SITE=PAPIT&SECTION=NATIONAL&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT

""I've never really had a disappointment like this," said Ken Rudd, a 33-year-old salesman from Evergreen Park. "This is one of the saddest things I've ever seen."

LOL! Just wait until 2012.

This says it all:

"Randy Wood, 49, of San Diego said the IOC clearly wasn't swayed by Obama's influence.

"Maybe his clout stopped at the Pacific and the Atlantic," said Wood, who said the early elimination reflects poorly on the president.

With Chicago well-known for public corruption and problems with public services, opponents had serious concerns about Olympics-sized hassles and bills, despite assurances by city officials that taxpayers wouldn't owe a dime.

A recent poll by the Chicago Tribune showed residents almost evenly split, with 47 percent in favor of the bid and 45 percent against; that's a drop from the 2-1 support the newspaper found in a February poll. The 2016 bid committee said its own poll last week found support from 72 percent of Chicagoans.

Posted by: EPIC FAIL at October 2, 2009 10:02 AM

Now, I'm not specifically overjoyed that Chicago lost; it's a 3 hour drive for me and I could see me some live olympicatin'. It's just that after maximum leader zero put his reputation on the line for it, it's satisfying in a special way that they didn't just lose, they lost harder than anybody else. Just to see him fail again, ahh the Schadenfruede!

Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at October 2, 2009 10:04 AM

I see at the bottom of the screen that unemployment is up again. It's hard to imagine that anybody has any faith in Zero. The French, Brits, Czechs, Poles don't. Israel and India too. Japan and China are about to stop buying our debt and are looking for ways to dump the T-bills they have. Russia plays Zero like an accordian. His cap-n-trade is a joke to industrialized nations. Australia, Poland, India, China won't even consider such suicide. Oh, and I forgot that Iran, Venezuela and North Korea are playing him also, The world is be headed for disaster and if it does I'm sure that Zero, with wife in toe, will jump on the Klingon Bird of Prey (thanks Ghosts of Kahless) and fly to Pango Pango to pick up some arugula. Damn is Zero a dipshit and so are his followers.

what we lost?
Time to give another speech!!

Posted by: Barry Hussien at October 2, 2009 10:10 AM

What a fool.

You don't stake your prestige on something like that unless a) it's damned important, and b) you're pretty sure you can pull it off. This was a job for the Mayor of Chicago, not for the President of the United States.

An effective leader gives people to understand that things will play out as he wishes, so when he expresses his wishes, they get on board immediately. For this reason he doesn't want to be seen to be crossed if at all possible. Obama has now expended political capital on a lost and rather stupid cause. The IOC ignored him with impunity; who else can do so? Blue Dog Democrats are doubtless looking at each other right now and reflecting on just that question. Stupid.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

You people are really sick. If Obama had got the Olympics you would have been sad and angry.

It's now come the point that you will never acknowledge even the slightest success from the Obama asministration, and you are actually hoping that he fails, Thus you are hoping America fails as in this prime example of the Olympics.

2. His little bronze god needed this distraction from 9.8% unemployment, impending failure in Afghanistan, and the health care bill nobody wants.

3. The Chicago Democrat cronyism machine is deprived of billions bribes, kickbacks, and sweetheart deals financed by taxpayers.

So, you guys would prefer infrastructure efforts, increased law enforcement and jobs not happen in Chicago unless a republican achieve it. Talk about partisan hacks! Also this Fox chorus "it's Chicago politics!!!" First it was complain that President Obama made the bid and trip to Copenhagen, now it's ridicule him for not succeeding. The "neo-con" machine has no plans, and the American people recognize this. While Democratic support slightly dropped over the last 9 months, the GOP has not gained any...guess what? Further, the facilities built between now and 2016, would still be used past the Olympics...so much for those jobs, and that infrastructure would be maintained....so much for those jobs. So, instead of cheering on a loss by the President, why don't cheer on Jim DeMint's treasonous actions today, or John Ensign's criminal behavior? Talk about treason and corruption!!!!

First off, I do think the Olympics would be a huge boost, a game changer for me...not so much. Second, the monies spent on infrastructure include American dollars and foreign investments. For a change, all that rebuilding we have done could make improvements to roads and the wonderful L train. Third, this is not about the loss of "Our Country" losing the chance to host world games, it is your pathetic opposition to anything this man does. Olympics reap rewards for decades, and Montreal and Calgary will attest to that.

ATTC, for yourself. Demint made a little trip to Honduras to encourage the coup regime to oppose U.S. policy, while even Honduran business leaders are suggesting allowing Zelaya to return, and under special circumstances remove him that way. It is a form of treason to instruct a a foreign government to resist your own. It is a violation of the Logan Act. Further, your boy Ensign in plenty of hot water. Facing ethics charges, and violating federal lobbying laws for his job placement of Mr.Hampton. Look it up.

Hellz yeah I want maximum leader zero to fail, because his success is the destruction of the nation as it should be. And I enjoy the hell out of every little sign of failure for this miserable little punk.

If Chicago needs the infrastructure, what in hell have they been doing over the last 20 years when they should have been maintaining it? Oh yeah, they've been knocking down the housing projects where the miscreants were contained, and sending their residents out to corrupt peaceful neighborhoods under section 8. Well done.

Now then, I think DeMint did the right thing. He has no power, and nothing to offer them, just encouraging them that we're not all against them. Zelaya violated their constitution. Maximum leader zero is wrong AGAIN.

It's not the free market that's fucked up; the government has been twisting the rules in order to trip it up. The leftard congress is at fault for the credit crisis, not the market. The market was just trying to do the best it could with what it had, primarily a profusion of "sub-prime" mortgages. See: "Community Reinvestment Act, et seq", "ACORN", "Obama".

First off, I do think the Olympics would be a huge boost,

No. Olympics almost invariably lose money.

It is a form of treason to instruct a a foreign government to resist your own. It is a violation of the Logan Act.

John Kerry, the late Ted Kennedy, and Nancy Pelosi will be interested to learn this. They did just that with North Vietnam, the USSR, and Syria, respectively – all a little bit more contentious than Honduras, yes? In addition to which, Obama is flat wrong on Honduras. They stopped a little Chavez-wannabe in his tracks when he broke Honduran law. The only coup was the one Zelaya attempted. Still, he might be able to sell all those computers they found with the election results in them. You know, the results of the election that was never held? Yeah. That one.

The irony is that all of Obama's problems come from exactly the same source: his inexperience. If he'd been a Chicago alderman, or a leader of the Chicago Vice Lords – hell, if he'd been president of his high school glee club - he'd know not to risk prestige on anything unsure unless it's absolutely vital.

wellstone: "Jim, I am sorry you never get out to other states."
Touched a nerve there, did I?

Ghost of Wellstone changing the subject.....jack off...ha ha ha ha ha

OK, gang, it's that time again - time to update the liberal lexicon!

IOC1: You're all America haters

IOC2: Think of all the money that Chicago would have received (source unspecified)

IOC3: Anyone who doesn't support Our President doesn't support AmeriKKKa

IOC4: He wasn't really trying, that's why He didn't get the Olympics

IOC5: He actually went to Copenhagen to be on the same continent with Gen. McChrystal. Nothing to do with the IOC at all.

IOC6: Anyone who doesn't gush about the Messiah is racist

IOC7: Well, some Republican no one's ever heard of once tore the tag off a mattress, so there!

IOC8: Yeah, well how many Olympics did the US have while Bush was President?

IOC9: Anyone who doesn't want to perform fellatio on Obama is also racist, and probably secretly a Republican

IOC10: It's for the children!

IOC11: How many Olympics did Sarah Palin ever get? Huh? Huh?

IOC12: There were some dirty crony politics going on there, not the clean kind Chicago is known for

IOC13: Look, a puppy!

IOC14: It's all Glenn Beck's fault

IOC15: Bush!

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 2, 2009 2:40 PM

Actually, folks, there was little to no chance that Chicago would get the 2016 Olympics, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with anything Obama did or did not do. I posted this earlier in the thread, but it seems to have gone unnoticed:

Given the logistics disaster that was the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta - not to mention that Games' phenomenon of ubiquitous corporate logos plastered on every stationary object within 200 miles (The "McDonald's" detour railings were my favorite) - I don't think the US will be hosting a summer Olympics for a while, especially in a city that already has traffic problems.

The International Olympic Committee was not at all pleased with the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Remember that '96 was the 100-year anniversary of the modern Olympics, and it was thought by many that it should be hosted by Athens, Greece. However, Atlanta made one heck of a strong bid, and even though the US had hosted a summer Olympics just 12 years earlier, it was awarded the Games.

Despite a few years of planning, the logistics of hosting such a huge event in an already congested metroplex were a nightmare for Olympic officials and spectators alike. Transportation to and from events was atrocious, as bus drivers unfamiliar with metro Atlanta routinely got lost, and traffic was horrendous. The over-commercialization of the Games, complete with corporate logos on just about everything, was a turnoff to the IOC. Add in the (rather minor) bombing incident and charges that the US was getting preferential treatment from the IOC in choosing the hosts for Games (the US would also get the 2002 Winter Games), and the Atlanta Games would ensure that the US won't be hosting a summer Olympics anytime soon, Obama or not.

Hardly a nerve touched Jim, I am sorry you don't get out more. And the subject was not changed, it was a point of reference that you are ready to attack Obama for utterly failing in a task he had stupidly put his prestige behind, yet are ready to ignore Republicans for siding with legitimate constitutional governments against the Marxist dictator me and my beloved Dear Leader Obama prefer.

And I remain a total pathetic wanker and no one reads my stupid blog.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at October 2, 2009 2:52 PM

Wellstoned, you total pathetic wanker. Why is it that in Chicago -- a city run completely by a Democrat Party machine where Republicans are irrelevant --- can't manage infrastructure improvements or better police protection unless they get the Olympics?

You don't seem to be able to answer that.

And do you forget the Obama apology tour?

Double standards, please stop.

Ghost lets face it, today is not your day. Your messiah just made a huge blunder and it was on the world stage to boot. The first lady was no help either. Did you even catch that sorry ass pitch she made? Absolutely shameful.

The Obama's need to quit with the I I I and ME ME ME, they sound soooooo arrogant.

Take the day off, ghost.

Posted by: Dave at October 2, 2009 2:52 PM

More hypocrisy: Nancy Pelosi goes to Syria to undercut the Bush Administration, and Wellstoned has no problem with that.

But Jim DeMint wants to go to Honduras to meet with the legitimate government --- Not the Marxist thug dictator favored by Obama, Chavez, and Castro --- and Wellstoned is incensed.

Total pathetic wanker.

Let's see, that would be IOC4, IOC7, IOC9, and IOC13.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 2, 2009 3:05 PM

Traitor DeMint wants to go to Honduras, per request of the legitimate constitutional government to tell the people to pay no mind to the official foreign policy of the U.S. or any other industrialized nation... because Obama wants an insane Marxist dictator who claims the Jews are using secret gases on him back in power.

Let's not mince our words, here.

As for the Olympics: We're celebrating the defeat of the Daley political machine?

Posted by: Anonymous at October 2, 2009 3:06 PM

Goatse, you're losing harder than usual today, did someone file a complaint about your dog crapping on the sidewalk? The government in Honduras is NOT a coup government, in fact it is in support of their constitution and therefore more verifiable than anything Zelaya has to offer. Maximum leader zero IS WRONG regarding Honduras. It is demonstrable and obvious. DeMint is right. Choke on it.

Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at October 2, 2009 3:07 PM

GoW,

By what you wrote (about DeMint's actions), it can be determined that he is asking them to protect and uphold their legal overthrow of Zelayas who attempted to infringe upon their constitution (by law, no one can even OFFER an altering it).

I find it hard how anyone could support the return of Zelayas who was legally ousted, and for good reason.

Therefore, I wholely stand behind DeMint on his admirable actions that are based in upholding the rule of law.

Thread winner!!!

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 2, 2009 3:35 PM

And for the record, I'm with Mr. Evilwrench. DeMint is right. Obama is an idiot for not seeing that. He's all klebbaed up.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 2, 2009 3:39 PM

OBAMA FUCKING SUCKS - so glad to hear of his latest epic failure (he is also a failure of a human).....I hope he gets really, really, really, realllllllllyyyyyyy depressed & does something DRASTIC......to himself.

Posted by: carmen at October 2, 2009 3:48 PM

Now, now, Carmen...

I hope he grows up and into the office; we'll be able to tell that that is happening when he starts surrounding himself with reasonable people (communists, pedophiles and rabid race-mongers need not apply).

Failing that, let him screw the pooch big time, to discredit liberalism for another generation: the Jimmy Carter effect.

I don't wish the man ill personally.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 2, 2009 3:53 PM

I don't wish him ill, either. And I'm not celebrating the loss of the Olympics (although I am sure were better off without them!)

I am laughing because the fluffer media has been hyping this all week. I am laughing because Obama's worshipers have been shown the foolishness of their little bronze god. Obama personalized this. If Chicago had won, he would have taken credit for it and basked in the glow of his success. But he failed, and it's only fair that he be ridiculed for his failure.

So-stoned I have a question for you, make that two questions. What is the capital of Illinois and where do the state legislatures spend 90% of their time? I await your answer oh expert of Illinois.

This makes the scars from my appendectomy hurt from laughing so hard.

Posted by: SK at October 2, 2009 7:54 PM

So much for all the wild-eyed predictions that Obama's election, was going to make Europe "love" us again. You know, once we got rid of that redneck cowboy.

Like every other prediction his slobbering apologists in the media made......pbbbbbbbt.

Posted by: Cylar at October 3, 2009 2:34 AM

So, instead of cheering on a loss by the President, why don't cheer on Jim DeMint's treasonous actions today, or John Ensign's criminal behavior? Talk about treason and corruption!!!!

Funny how the word "treason" is suddenly back in vogue. This from the gaggle of moonbats who openly rooted for Al Queda in Iraq to kill more American servicemen. You know, in a real, live shooting war where people are actually dying? As opposed to a ham-fisted effort to bring a 2-week international athletic competition to town?

Get a grip, douche. And don't you DARE call anyone on the Right a "traitor" ever again.

Posted by: Cylar at October 3, 2009 2:45 AM

Also, no one reads my blog,

Probably because you don't have anything worthwhile to say on THIS one.

and I'm still a complete, total, pathetic wanker.

Don't expect me to argue.

Posted by: Cylar at October 3, 2009 2:48 AM

ATTC, for yourself. Demint made a little trip to Honduras to encourage the coup regime to oppose U.S. policy, while even Honduran business leaders are suggesting allowing Zelaya to return, and under special circumstances remove him that way. It is a form of treason to instruct a a foreign government to resist your own.

You mean like when Sean Penn went to Iraq in 2003 to encourage Saddam Hussein to "resist" the US invasion? Resist in an actual shooting war, where people will be dying, as opposed to some meaningless pronouncement of US diplomatic posture toward internal events in a foreign government?

Seriously, someone needs to smack some sense into you. You've lost all sense of proportion.

Prety bad when Chicago is too corrupt for the IOC.
Actually, I'm enjoying watching Anonymous and his ilk slowly, painfully implode...and without a shred of guilt.
