Morning Briefs: Stuff You May Have Read Somewhere Else

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at October 19, 2009 3:39 AM

Good morning, campers. Did you have a good weekend. How 'bout those Cougars?

Item Number One
: An historically Black College has outlawed cross-dressing on campus. What a dilemma, how does a PC Progressive pick a side on this one? Do you side with the historically oppressed people of color, or with the hip, gender-benders the contemporary porn culture has so eagerly embraced?

Item Number Two: It's been mentioned here before, but it is once again confirmed that America's Most Liberal City, Detroit (a.k.a. New Mogadishu) is nothing but a one-party kleptocracy where pay-to-play is an accepted part of the political culture; no one looks twice when candidates for city government pay off groups in exchange for endorsements. On a side note, three runners died in the Detroit marathon this year. None from gunshot wounds, surprisingly enough. It must be getting tough if the gangs can't afford bullets anymore.

Item Number Three: Shapard Fairey, the Obamunist artist who came up with the iconic fascistic "Hope" posters now admits that he stole the image from the AP and then lied about it in court. His Stanford law school legal team quit because of this breach of ethics. If you're so bad lawyers won't even lie for you, I don't know where you go from that. I just wonder, where would an Obama supporter get the idea that lying and stealing were okay?

Oh yeah, that's where.

Hah!

The so-called artist stole something f and then claimed it as his own?

The epitome of Democratic Party philosophy.

Sounds a bit like the dilemma faced by Democratic primary voters last year. Whose "turn" is it to be president - the blacks or the women?

On that note, I'd LOVE to see Hildog go head-to-head with Sara-cuda.

Amazing that a story like the Morehouse Colleg video made it on CNN. There was more common sense in that three minutes than in the entire White House.

It's not a black or white issue. Common sense knows no color. The incredibly sloppy appearance of some younger folks today is amazing. Dr. Perry said it best: "We've allowed the personal to be public.....we as a community look like fools."

Well said Dr Perry.

Love the poster. I would hang that up over town in the wee hours of the morning.

Where is the stoned goat to come to the defense of the beloved Detroit?

Terrible about those marathoners. WTF? RIP.

I don't know about the previous heart conditions of the runners who died in the marathon, but I bet they were treking unarmed, through Detroit neighborhoods.

Anyone's heart rate would go up a few notches.

Dress codes and codes of conduct are so damned arbitrary on public school campuses and state universities that they may as well not even exist in the first place.

It must be encouraging to know that BYU got blasted off their own field by a 2-4 Florida State team currently sitting dead last in the worst division of a BCS conference.

>An historically Black College has outlawed cross-dressing on campus.>

Does that mean that women will have to wear SKIRTS?

But seriously, some dress codes have backfired. Back in '70, Florida schools banned shorts because kids were wearing "cut-off" that would leave threads all over the place and looked like "Daisy Mae Yokum". Shortly after the ruling, "hotpants" became popular (And looked a LOT better), but were covered by the ban. A few years ago, "town shorts" (that almost looked like a mini-skirt) were not alowed because they were "shorts".

Another school down here banned the mini-skirt, but that pissed off the cheerleaders because they couldn't were their UNIFORMS to class when they had after-school practice, or were promoting an event.

Be carefull what you wish for.

Come to think of it, does this mean that the drama club will not be able to perform "Charley's Aunt"?
