Morning Briefs: Stuff You've Probably Already Read Somewhere Else

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at October 6, 2009 7:01 AM

Item Number One: Obama's BFF Chavez Confiscates Land, Mugabe Style: Gateway Pundit has the video. It's in Spanish. But the upstart is, the farmer was kicked off the land and it was appropriated to the state. In the USA, liberals are a bit more subtle. Under the Supreme Court's Kelo decision, it is perfectly fine for the government to confiscate land from one owner and give it to another private entity if it can gain more tax revenue from it, or if they really feel like it. Which brings us to...

Item Number Two:
Speaking of Kelo, did you know that five years after the Supreme Court (four liberal justices + Kennedy the weather vane) decided the state could confiscate land pretty much any time it darn well pleased, the land the city of New London grabbed from Susette Kelo and several other homewoners has never been developed into anything? All the projects have been canceled and what was once a neighborhood is now a wasteland. Well-done, socialist central planners!

Item Number Three
: Another day, another whackjob Obama appointment. Chai Feldblum is a radical feminist whom Dear Reader has nominated as commissioner for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Her name appears on a manifesto supporting a radical redefinition of marriage to include same-sex marriage, polygamy, or pretty much any other arrangement so long as it's not the patriarchal, oppressive "one man, one woman, united in fidelity" model. David Letterman has already voiced his unwavering support. (Gateway Pundit)

Item Number Four: An inconvenient truth of socialism is revealed. MediCare refuses more claims than private insurance companies. So, Big Government turns out to be more evil than Big Insurance. Who's surprised? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Item Number Five: The same folks who rooted for America to lose a war are still throwing hissy fits because some of us did a happy dance when His Arrogance failed to enrich his cronies by bringing the Olympics to Daley City. (Newsbusters) BTW: 45% of Daley City residents didn't want the Olympics either, and 85% of them voted for His Arrogance.

Item Number Six: The MSM has spoken. David Letterman is not to be mocked. Washington Post TV critic Tom Shales says David Letterman should not be mocked for his confessions of serial infidelity, sexual use of female subordinates, or even because his studio included a private sex room. It's just not fair to mock someone for a heartbreaking family situation. Joey Buttafuoco could not be reached for comment.

Today's Morning Briefs are brought to you by the MSM, which wants to remind you of the difference between brilliant satire and redneck racism:

Chai Feldblum - sounds like some new vegan gaia-friendly drink.

That Tom Shales says some goofy-ass things. I wouldn't even know his name, except he gets slammed on Newsbusters on a continuing basis.

"...or even because his studio included a private sex room."

I suppose we should be relieved it wasn't a tent in his back yard.

Wonder how much taxes the facists in New London are collecting from the current inhabitants of the vacant land, crickets, now? Serves these jackals right. Hopefully, there are enough sane people living in this town to vote thse idiots out of office. Being that it is after all the other left coast, I doubt it.
