More Progressive Left Politicizing of All Hallow's Eve
Posted by Gregory of Yardale at October 31, 2009 2:16 PM
I'm keeping my politics out of the holiday. My son's friends and I carved jack o lanterns this afternoon while watching Indiana and Purdue get rolled over (oh well). I've got thirteen candles ready to burn in my foyer. I've got bowls of snack sized candy for little trick or treaters, and full-size bars for bigger ones. (What's left over, I'll take to church tomorrow and give to the kids there.) And, I've got a couple of horror movies for later, one that sounds campy and one that's supposed to be pretty scary.
It's a pretty normal standard Halloween, because it's what normal people do on Halloween, not handing out ObamaCare stickers or creating a Graveyard of Conservatism.

Think of the effort that went into creating this, and how that effort might have been better spent visiting the elderly or volunteering at a homeless shelter.
Anybody who lets politics infect every aspect of their life to this degree is a few fries short of a Happy Meal... and probably pretty miserable. to boot.
Happy Halloween, Normal People.

May I recommend "Dark City" starring Rufus Sewell, William Hurt, Kiefer Sutherland and Jennifer Connelly.
Very scary in an Alfred Hitchcock kind-of-way.

I'm politicizing All Hallow's Eve by asking various witches, vampires, and super heros what they would prefer, a mandarin orange or a sesame snap.

Dealing with the REAL numbers they ARE only 20% and MUST try harder. When you're trying to feed the population a lie you have to keep it going 24/7, one slip and they might find out the TRUTH. The truth that liberals are slime and don't care about anything but THEIR agenda.

They can even cease their preaching during Halloween? How tiresome.

A buddy talked me into going to see SAW vi today, the first time I've been to a movie theater in years. I was appalled at Hollywood's shameless pushing of their agenda--the whole movie revolved around how evil insurance companies are. Unreal.

Last night, I went to Universal's Halloween Horror Nights, and had a great time.
Tonight, to handle something I didn't have the time to do last night, I'm going to watch my copy of the recently released to DVD horror film 'Trick 'r Treat.' It is AWESOME, I highly recommend it, and I think it's going to become traditional Halloween viewing for me.

The first Saw movie (and I believe most of the sequels) was apolitical, sort of a secular morality tale in which the victims were chosen for what their tormenter saw as their failures to live their lives properly (eg an attractive young woman who was a drug addict, guy who cheated on his faithful wife, etc). Sort of live Seven, if you've seen that. Quite a decent film, not so much creepy as mildly horrifying, and it was quite a lot smarter than the usual gorefest.
Apparently it's only the latest sequel that's gone off the rails into Democrat politics, which is a shame. Still, it sounds kind of entertaining in an ironic way (c'mon, it's gotta be fun to watch an eeeeeeevil insurance executive get killed in a nasty fashion, whatever your stance on health care.)
But on the whole it is something of a pity that Democrats even feel the need to proselytize in horror films.
