While Detroit politics has been "thuggish", "irresponsible" and "arrogant" and reflects on the citizens of Detroit poorly. However, many of these citizens are struggling to keep their homes, or lights on or keep their vehicle. Detroit is not the only hit part of Michigan. Livonia, the heavily white, heavily Republican city of the 11th District is suffering miles of empty businesses, which is a loss of revenue for the city. Many are experiencing that. That said, it is awfully shortsighted of you to put this on Obama, or even the people of the Metro area.

Detroit does half the work for anyone to criticize it. Yet, our Governors are almost evenly split between the two parties, with the edge going to the GOP. In this state both parties have made horrible choices, yet you are willing to attack and poke fun at people. Screw you! Likely Dave could actually agree with me, most major cities are struck with strife right now. Detroit's long history of first in and last out is proving it's honesty again. Tax cut's have proven consistantly since JFK that they lower unemployment, spur growth, and benifit everyone yet you still CANT point to any time that unemployment was ever 10% and increasing during Bush or prior to democrat control of congress.

Further, the Labor Dept. numbers do reflect well on on paper, however, when in 2005, 2006, 2007 tax credits were given to corporations who moved shop overseas, we saw a decline. And historically?
