Moonbat Vocabulary Term: Eco-Xenophobia

Posted by Van Helsing at October 5, 2009 8:23 PM

Since it wouldn't be fair to the animals for only humans to enjoy the many privileges that come with being oppressed by racism, ecoweenies in formerly Great Britain have extended the coveted status to parakeets.

This week Natural England officially deemed the ring-necked parakeet as a pest, making it possible to shoot the birds without a licence.
However Dr Ian Rotherham, Director of the Environmental Change Research Unit at Sheffield Hallam University, said there is a danger that labelling parakeets as a "nasty alien" just because they are from abroad could be seen as a form of "racism" towards a foreign species.

Intones Dr. Rottenham:

If there is a problem - for example with the birds taking fruit - then we have to take steps to deal with it. If you start to label it as alien then that is some sort of racism. Eco-xenophobia is the label I would use.

Another birdbrain concurs:

Matthew Frith, Deputy Chief Executive of the London Wildlife Trust, said parakeets were "as British as curry" and agreed it was dangerous to label the birds as a pest just because they are foreign.

Farmers complain that the parakeets eat their crops, but rather than resort to violence, it would be more correct of them to open a dialogue, and attempt to establish the root causes of the birds' pestilent behavior.

Good thing rattus norvegicus doesn't come from a place where people have swarthy skin, or ecokooks would proclaim rat traps to be racist.

A racist child indulges in eco-xenophobia.

I think I've heard it all. Judging by this Dr's stupid comments, I'll bet you he is pro-Obamacare. If this Dr. Rottenham wants to think this way then if Obamacare passes and drives doctors into unemployment then that could be termed racist too...medico-xenophobia. Yes Obamacare is Medico-xenophobia. This guys should think before he talks.

Is there any chance at all that Natural England can officially deem whacked out environmentalists as ring-necked parakeets, a pest, making it possible to shoot the environmentalists without a licence?

Meanwhile, people who are really concerned about the natural environment (i.e. everyone except envirokooks) know that invasive species are a major problem anywhere in the world.

I think much loved animals like the badger is spreading disease among cattle and even red squirrels damage trees. But it is the "alien" grey squirrels and muntjac deer, that are loved by people in cities, that are facing the cull.

All animals are equal, but donkeys (asses) are more equal than others.

And only a liberalaphobic would disagree with that statement.

There is no limit to Insanity ...

Okay, first of all, the fact of the matter is, those parakeets have become an invasive exotic, meaning if steps aren't made to greatly lessen their numbers in England in the near future, they could throw a MAJOR monkeywrench into its ecosystem, thus posing a real environmental threat, yet that fact seems to elude these idiots.
Second, what ideas does this Rotterham guy have on how to "Deal" with the problem?
Third, "As British as curry"? That doesn't sound right. I admittedly don't know much about English culture, but curry always struck me as more of an Indian dish, I think a better analogy would be "As British as shepherd's pie" or "As British as fish and chips" or something.

And this kind of story is picture-perfect for Moonbattery.com.

"This week Natural England officially deemed the ring-necked parakeet as a pest, making it possible to shoot the birds without a licence."

Shoot them with what? I thought private ownership of guns was illegal there. Handfulls of dirt, making sure no rocks are mixed in? Peas fired through the gap in their teeth? Other parakeets found dead of natural causes?

I'm still laughing at the picture of the girl with the budgie on her head! It reminds me of Moonbat fear of CO2 emissions.

Incredible! A couple weeks ago there was a story in the UK's Daily Mail (I think) about a woman who was arrested for pulling up a dead flower in a public park. I made a joke in the comments that the flower must have been native to the UK or they probably would have charged her with racism as well. It was a joke, yet...here we are.

As a white man, I spent the weekend walking around San Francisco and Berkeley. I couldn't believe the amount of hatred openly directed towards me. There were several times I felt very unsafe. Of course, I was dressed in a respectable manner and being courteous to everyone I encountered. I guess I forgot that Critical Theory teaches them to hate this sort of behavior.

Posted by: Anonymous at October 6, 2009 10:15 AM

Racist? Why the hell would they use the term racist? These people have officially lost their minds. How the shit can it be racism if THEY ARE OF A DIFFERENT SPECIES!

Racism truly is the liberals new McCarthyism. Liberals have so tarnished that word you can only be assured you are on the right track if you are labeled as such.
