Jolly Joe Biden: Less Popular than Darth Cheney?

Posted by The MaryHunter at October 29, 2009 11:25 AM

Just in case you'd forgotten who our profoundly inept vice president was, the polls are ready to remind us. In fact, at only a 42% favorable rating, Biden is even less popular than was the freshman Veep Dick Cheney. From a recent Gallup poll:

Biden's unfavorable rating in the new poll is 40 percent, up from 29 percent last November.
Biden's average favorable rating during his time in office so far is 45 percent -- well below the average 65 percent favorable rating for Vice President Dick Cheney during Cheney's first year in office.

It's striking that almost 20% of those recently surveyed had no opinion of Jolly Joe. Perhaps these are the folks who haven't yet seen seen this video:

…which, it would seem, should increase his popularity, at least among the 18-to-24-drunken-college-student demographic.

In any case, it is quite a statement that Plugs can't even beat the most-despised-ever US veep in a beauty contest.

I'd take Cheney over Biden anyday and so would the troops. Biden will go down in history as a worthless liar...with botox and plugs.

Priceless photo. Looks like it could be right out of a movie about a buffoon politician. We're getting quite a collection of straight-from-central-casting photos here. Something for a year-end roundup?

Great idea, Karin... seconded!

Biden was little more than a "experienced white boy" prop. Unfortunately, he was chosen by an inexperienced, egotistical black Marxist, so what we got was a bad case of "DOH!"

Posted by: Snowdog99 at October 29, 2009 12:15 PM

Biden was chosen because Obama knew he would need some one to make HIM look good...soon.

You know something? As much fun as it is watching post turtle disintegrate, I still think I'd take Biden; he may also be an incompetent ass, but I think he'd be largely harmless rather than actively evil. He just doesn't have the force of personality to push the agenda.

What did we do to deserve Joe Biden? Dante, to get rid of Biden's crow's feet we need a Botox-filled syringe that is used to inject a turkey with spices and flavorings just before it is placed in the oven on Thanksgiving morning. Shouldn't be too difficult to find one of those this time of year.

Looks like the sour old man "Walter" puppet.

The reason Joe Biden was picked as V.P. was to protect Obama from assassination. Even the craziest of people would think twice about killing Obama when they know Biden would then be in charge.

RE: Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at October 29, 2009 2:16 PM

J.R. Biden started out as the idealistic young upstart back in the 1970s. He was elected less than a decade after the Kennedy assasination, and was a well-liked clean-cut non-hippie young Catholic family man. The tragic death of his young wife in a traffic accident later was very Kennedy-esque, and cemented Biden as Delaware's version of "Camelot Lite".

Remember, this was back when we had a lot of Democrats that were more conservative than the RINOs we have in the Republican party now.

And Biden? Well, he sort of coasted.....things were good in Delaware back then, with DuPont, GM, Chrysler, Dover AFB, et al providing above-average prosperity for all......

While this was going on we had the Carter years, and the Democratic Party would totally lose it's mind and turn into the left-wing neocommunist/fascist/socialist moonbat entity we know now.

Biden changed too - someone whispered in his ear that he would be taken seriously as a contender for President back during the Age of Ronaldus Maximus, and Biden began to take himself seriously.

As one who lives in the shadow of the Biden mansion, the "Village Idiot" thing is no joke - it's MY village we're talking about here!

As I have said here on Moonbattery several times before, when his one term as Vice President comes to it's inevitably inglorious end, WE DON'T WANT HIM BACK!

I'd rather be hunting with Cheney than in the WH with Biden...

Cheney's popularity did plummet to record lows, but even then, a strong majority of American voters surveyed still agreed that:

1. Cheney was the kind of guy who got things done.
2. Cheney, while not very personable or likable, kept America safe.

Obamunism is the exact opposite. Under Obamunism, popularity is what counts. It is important that the people think you get things done, rather than actually getting them done.

It is worth noting that whomever (or whatever panel of leftist apparatchiks) is coordinating national security now is not even close to as decisive as the previous administration.

We are all less safe as a result of mealy-mouthed bureaucrats and their red tape getting in the way of national security.

Good job, Obama. There is now nobody who can cut through the red tape and get things done.

I was never drunk even when I was a college student.

Posted by: Scaramouche at October 29, 2009 5:50 PM

Joseph Biden is one of the dumbest m*therf*ckers known to mankind. Dick Cheney on the other hand is a slick machine who I am happy to have on my side. And his daughter Lynn has inherited his quick wit and style. I love this family. True Americans...

Posted by: Fuzzlenutter at October 29, 2009 6:11 PM

I don't get it. Is Jumpin' Joe supposed to be drunk in that video? I can't tell.

Posted by: Duke at October 29, 2009 7:41 PM

It actually resembles his normal babbling ramble.

Or: maybe he's just always drunk.

Posted by: pomalom at October 29, 2009 7:44 PM

Oh, wow, are you guys reaching here. Of course comparing popularity would look favorable if you only include the data that occurred before Cheney pissed everyone off.

Posted by: hey you guys at October 29, 2009 8:50 PM

I hear that annoying, miserable, ignorant whine again. Sounds like a backwards, Marxist loving troll or something.

Posted by: SK at October 29, 2009 8:52 PM

Joe BIden is like GOVENOR TARKIN You,ll reconise his foul stench when your brought on board

Posted by: SPURWING PLOVER at October 29, 2009 9:11 PM

I like Cheney because he shot a lawyer. And a liberal lawyer at that. Win-win.

Posted by: Jimbo at October 29, 2009 9:26 PM

Hey, everyone.

Aren't you all SO glad we kept that gun-toting, Bible-thumping, redneck hillybilly hockey-mom out of the veep's office? Isn't this guy such an improvement?

/moonbat off

Posted by: Cylar at October 29, 2009 11:50 PM

Feh. I miss Cheney, frankly. I was disappointed when he didn't run for president. I actually liked him better than Bush - and for me this goes all the way back to election night 2000.

Posted by: Cylar at October 29, 2009 11:51 PM

I like Cheney, too; his whole family. Always have. And I love how he's not sitting down and shutting up.

Jimbo: haha!

Posted by: Karin at October 30, 2009 6:02 AM

Hey you guys: So Cheney "pissed everyone off." Everyone? Really now?! He never pissed me off. You, however, piss me off every friggin time.

Biden so stupid, he believes asphalt is a disease.
'nuff said.
