Have Y'All Seen the Cover of Newsweek?

Check out this howler from the article:

Barack Obama campaigned as a populist firebrand but governs like a cerebral consensus builder.

You mean when he's not making up an enemies list, declaring war on news networks that don't propagandize on his behalf, or praising whackadoodle congressmen who call women "whores" and say Republicans want to kill people?

But remember, FoxNews isn't really a news channel, it's just “opinion journalism masquerading as news.”

The "howler" you quote is, surprise, surprise, snipped. It was part of the teaser line below the article's title. Here it is in full:

"Assessing a young presidency. Barack Obama campaigned as a populist firebrand but governs like a cerebral consensus builder. The founding fathers wouldn't have it any other way."

The article itself goes on to talk about the checks and balances of our system. Here's another quote:

"But what our system has meant during the poisonous partisan civil war that has paralyzed Washington in recent years is that very little of the big stuff gets done. It simply can't."

Naturally, understanding that Obama's agenda is checked by the system isn't part of Moonbattery's own agenda now is it?

Nothing Anonymous-the-Canadian-Troll added changes the fact that Obama has been neither cerebral nor a consensus builder. He's not cerebral, he's a dithering Marxist hack. He's not a consensus builder, he's a Chicago street thug who, instead of incorporating the opposition's suggestions into his approaches, snarls "I won" and does what he wants.

The "system" is now owned by democrats who are every bit as ignorant and socialistic as BO.

So the "system" is stopping BO.

You're carrying the typical liberal line of crap...looking for a villain.

You've got to have a villain since that's the only way to explain the ineffectiveness of the Idiot-in-Chief you morons put in office.

And for cryin-out-loud...where does this "cerebral" come from?

So the "system" is stopping BO.

That should have read: isn't. Hard to type when you know you're wasting time on a liberal.

Posted by: Fiberal at October 28, 2009 9:00 AM

"Cerebral" is a progressive-left word meaning "indecisive."

"Assessing a young presidency. Barack Obama campaigned as a populist firebrand but governs like a cerebral consensus builder. The founding fathers wouldn't have it any other way."

Well gee, if Newsweek prints it, then it must be true. LOL!

Honestly, what did the prior and last sentence reveal other than one of the many reasons that no one reads Newsweek anymore?

[[He is methodical, thoughtful, cerebral, a believer in consensus and process. In an incremental system, Barack Obama is an incremental man. It is one reason he is taking his time ending the two wars in which we remain mired, Nobel Peace Prize notwithstanding. On the one hand, on the other. This makes attacks on him as a radical or a socialist preposterous, not to mention ridiculously retro.]]

ANY combat troop, Marine or Army, will tell you IF you think too much you get killed.

Our troops in A-stan are getting killed while this "methodical, thoughtful, cerebral" DOLT thinks too damn much about killing our Republic and saving his political party in approaching elections.

I am so sick of the media trying to polish this turd.

"incorporating the opposition's suggestions"??? Oh sure. We all remember how well that has been previously demonstrated.

Obama = Chauncey Gardner

Posted by: JamesJ at October 28, 2009 10:00 AM

We all remember how well that has been previously demonstrated.

Yes, you Canuck dingus, like when GW Bush let Ted Kennedy author the No Child Left Behind act. Like when George W. Bush signed McCain-Feingold even though he admitted he didn't agree with it. Like when George W. Bush created the Department of Homeland Security at the demand of Democrats, even though he didn't think it was necessary.

If Obama wanted to compromise with Republicans the way Bush did with Democrats, he'd throw the public option out of Health Care Reform, and put interstate competition and tort reform into it.

But he won't. Because he's not a consensus builder, he's a hack, partisan thug.

Compare and contrast.

Uh...how does the lengthier quote change anything? It still asserts that Obama governs like a "cerebral consensus taker." (I can hardly type those words without laughing.) All you've done is prepended a non-limiting prepositional phrase and appended a fluff piece conclusory clincher sentence. BFD. Reading comprehension – it's not just for high school graduates any more.

Naturally, understanding that Obama's agenda is checked by the system isn't part of Moonbattery's own agenda now is it?

Checked by the "system?" WTF are you talking about? The Democrat Party controls the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives. They are the system. They can do literally anything they want. (Surprisingly, they don't need sign-off from Moonbattery.)

Their problem is that the Blue Dog Democrats are worried about fallout in the midterm elections if the Red Dems go apeshit now. The only significant opposition the Reds face is within their own party.

You'll have to do better than this.

"incorporating the opposition's suggestions"

cerebral consensus builder

"I won."

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 28, 2009 10:38 AM

"On the one hand, on the other. This makes attacks on him as a radical or a socialist preposterous, not to mention ridiculously retro."

From the article. This sentence makes no sense, and is not supported in any way. The old "just cause I say it, makes it so." You'd never find a non-sequitor like that in National Review. WFB would spin in his grave.

True to his name, MOFW sums it all up with, "He's like a tire with a hole in it. You can pump it up all you want, but in the end, it'll still be flat."

D#MN!! I'll be appropriating that one for my own use....thanks!
