Harvey Milk - Typical Progressive Hero

RINO Governor Arnold "The Taxinator" Schwarzeneggar has signed a bill creating a state holiday for Progressive Hero Harvey Milk.
Daniel J. Flynn, writing in the City Journal, acquaints readers with details that were left out of or utterly distorted in Sean Penn's film hagiography of Milk's life, such as the fact that he was a political opportunist who relentlessly promoted himself but had no political accomplishments, was a complete media whore who staged attacks to make himself appear like a victim, lied about his past, and called those who disagreed with him "Nazis."
And as the left is wont to do, when Milk was murdered by a disgruntled, unstable politician, the event was transformed by the left into an anti-gay hate crime and cause celebre. Just like Matthew Shepard's murder by two drug-addled robbers would be transmuted into a hate crime some years later.
What separates Harvey Milk from other leftist heroes like Che Guevara and Mao Tse-Dung is that Harvey Milk is not known to have killed large numbers of innocent people. But even though Harvey was not down in Jonestown handing out the Kool-Aid, he did do the next best thing by defending and supporting Jim Jones's deranged, delusional, and ultimately deadly cult.
“Rev. Jones is widely known in the minority communities here and elsewhere as a man of the highest character, who has undertaken constructive remedies for social problems which have been amazing in their scope and effectiveness,” Supervisor Milk wrote President Jimmy Carter seven months before the Jonestown carnage.
It's not Che, but it's close enough to make him a hero of the bloodthirsty progressive left.

Californiastan...it is amazing to what depth of cultural depravity the left has pushed this state and its native citizenry.
I spent a little over two years of my life in California, mostly around the San Francisco-Silicon Valley area in the seventies and eighties.
Loved it when I was there, these days I don't care to go back.
