Even Obama's Art Is Fake

Posted by Van Helsing at October 9, 2009 8:48 AM

Absolutely everything about the Moonbat Messiah is a sham — even the lousy modern art in his ballyhooed collection. It includes a piece of junk entitled "The Watusi," by one Alma Thomas:

watusi.jpg

The Tate Gallery has a piece called "The Snail," created by Henri Matisse back in the 1950s:

Matisse-snail.jpg

Rotate "Watusi" 90° to the right, change the colors, and you have the same uninspired artwork. You'd have to ask an expert like Joke Biden, but I believe this qualifies as plagiarism.

But of course, Matisse was just some dead white male, not a "longtime Washington resident who is an African-American painter."

Hat tips: Gateway Pundit, Michelle Malkin. On a tip from BURNING HOT.

I'm so disgusted, ashamed of what passes for a president in the US. It feels like each of his days in office he goes deeper and lower, does the guy even take a break from wrecking America's standing? Even fake art?

How long until we hear that Matisse was just a racist for ruining a "Gud boy painter from Washington an' he didn't do nuttin' wrong!"?

Not that you guys just blame Obama for everything and say anything he does, is associated with, looks at, likes or comes within 3 miles of is a Nazi Htler Devil communist evil gun-your-hair piece of shit crapball.

But kind of...

Not that it means that you're so unthoughtful and unreasonable that you can't clue yourself into the real places where Obama is dropping the ball and behave like a real opposition party becasue you're knee deep in your own indiscriminate "it's all bad" criticism.

Actually, yeah. That is true.

Posted by: SPURWING PLOVER at October 9, 2009 9:30 AM

bras there's not enough time in the day to name everything obooboo is dropping the ball on.

Posted by: Farmer Ted at October 9, 2009 9:35 AM

Everyone knows Obama won the Peace Prize for having that white racist cop and black crippled guy over for a beer at the Whitehouse.

Looks like stuff you'd find taped to the front of refrigerators all over America.

Posted by: Henry at October 9, 2009 10:08 AM

I'm going to take Alma's tribute piece, rotate it another 90 degrees, change the colors to a brown palette, and call it "The Flushing of America".

Where's my NEA grant?

Posted by: Judith M. at October 9, 2009 10:34 AM

Come on! The colors are completely different!

Posted by: steve at October 9, 2009 10:34 AM

He received the Nobel prize for all of his work in Chicago.

Posted by: Dan at October 9, 2009 10:35 AM

I believe it was the nobel PIECE prize, for being the biggest PIECE of shit in the world.

What he said X10 at least!!!!

This is plagiarized material that someone with no taste and no artistic cultivation would acquire only to satisfy their own racist intent.

Cheap crap for a cheap man.

The NOBEL BOBBY PRIZE COMMITY i can think of a punishment but the guillotine would be too quick

Posted by: Flu-Bird at October 9, 2009 2:20 PM

The other interesting thing is that Matisse did this stuff with colored paper when he was arthritic and almost totally blind as a means to hold on to his diminishing artistic capabilities.

Only someone with no talent and no soul would plagiarize the work so closely. (notice the coloration of the plagiarized piece is awkward and kind of sickening: too much dimestore-cheap blue against vomit mauve and chicken feces green)

Only the terminally brainless would buy it.

Fiberal, have you SEEN the way Michelle dresses?

Posted by: Judith M. at October 9, 2009 2:51 PM

Judith,
I used to think I had a pretty strong stomach but.....

Posted by: Fiberal at October 9, 2009 3:51 PM

Judith, did you see the dress the Klingon War Bride wore at the last Medal of Honor ceremony? I think she had the "artist" design that one too.

No. That was a little number from the Stevie Wonder collection.

Nothing like a jaunty little retina-scorching number to honor the dead, I always say. She keeps it classy doesn't she?

Heh! The Stevie Wonder collection...perfect.

Posted by: Anonymous at October 9, 2009 7:57 PM

brs What are you even talking about? I love being scolded incoherently. Puts me right in my place. Oh yeah.

Obama won the pointless Nobel prize (also given to Yassir Arafat, Al Bore, and the peanut fah-meh) because the liberal elite Globalists who fund him are getting vera vera nervous that he is failing and flailing so miserably.

It's a prop folks. It couldn't be more obvious. Side benefit is that it will create even more polarization of this once great nation. This game is so tired. Are we having fun yet?

Posted by: Auntie Sam at October 9, 2009 8:03 PM

Oh. I just looked at the collection. What a hot mess? Um. Why does O'Bomber have a portrait of Harry Truman in hi personal collection? How bizarre.

Posted by: Auntie Sam at October 9, 2009 8:05 PM

remember making art likke that in first grade

Posted by: Rockin Robin at October 9, 2009 9:22 PM

Isn't the Watusi a really lame dance from the 70's? Like the Hustle or something?

This is childish. Do you ever find anything the man has done, does, or is planning to do...to be remotely toxic to the country's economy, people, or image?

You accuse us of reflexively hating Obama, then turn around and do the same thing in reverse. And for that matter, I don't see a word of condemnation for all the people for whom Bush could apparently do nothing right.

Another comment about that cheap piece of watusi plagiarism:
In addition to the accomplishments I cited above, Matisse also did his piece as a unique comment on coloration in art, rather than as a fast way of producing a canvas to sell his signature.

The despicable land manatee who tried to copy his work apparently had neither a clue as to how to create an original statement in art herself, nor obviously was she capable of generating a conscientious thought about the significance of the piece she was ripping off.

Probably something like "Oohh...looka da coloorss ...ah kin do dat..."

You add this to the fact that BO could get a Matisse if he truly enjoyed Matisse. His choice merely reflects his racial bias and proposes an opportunity to put a foot on the face of the white man.

Bo's choice in art is totally consistent with the racist conscience and introverted concerns of this disgusting affirmative action "president".

Obama and the "Watusi" are shining examples of one of our cultural maladies: under-achievers among the "minority" community taking something away from Whitey, and trumpeting themselves as the creators of it.

It has been said that a person's artistic sensibilities is a window into his soul.

In the art that he favors, we see the true measure of this rotten individual.

Posted by: Fiberal at October 10, 2009 1:33 PM

As I thought.

Here then is a quote attributed to the vile skank who plagiarized Matisse's "The Snail" then sold it to a fool.
"If that old man can do it, then so could I"

(dug up and posted on snappedshot.com)

Here was my earlier characterization:
Probably something like "Oohh...looka da coloorss ...ah kin do dat..."

Pretty darn close.
Only mine wasn't as mean or as arrogant.

So now the left is out there passing this plagiarism off as a "study" (just a little something that "all" artists do).

Here is the problem with this post-hoc rationalization.
There has been an attempt on the part of the artist of the plagiarized piece to disguise it as original.

First she called it "Watusi"...not "Watusi, a Study". There is no relationship to the original suggesting in any way that this was intended to be a copy; something that if sold professionally, should be made clear.
Secondly, The title tries to force an African motif - cynically and clumsily implying originality.
Thirdly, there is no commentary on her part to indicate that this was an exercise in admiration of Matisse's talent. Indeed, her quote (see above post) suggest that she believes the work to be trivial and therefore somehow accessible for the taking. By this she admits she is an opportunist, a characteristic of most thieves.
Finally, her piece is rotated from the original; again with the obvious intent of trying to suggest originality.

It would have been in proper form to have issued a comment attributing this trash as a study of Mattise's "The Snail" when sold to the dolt, BO (who probably didn't know better).

Nothing as such was issued.

Again, this, regardless of the hand waving by the left, is plagiarism.
