Even ABC Questions White House Attack on Fox News

Posted by Van Helsing at October 21, 2009 10:54 AM

At last, an MSM journalist with a shred of credibility. At the White House yesterday, ABC's Jake Tapper laid into Comrade Obama's answer to Baghdad Bob over Big Government's campaign against Fox News:

Tapper: It's escaped none of our notice that the White House has decided in the last few weeks to declare one of our sister organizations "not a news organization" and to tell the rest of us not to treat them like a news organization. Can you explain why it's appropriate for the White House to decide that a news organization is not one…
[Press Secretary Robert] Gibbs: Jake, we render, we render an opinion based on some of their coverage and the fairness that, the fairness of that coverage.
Tapper: But that's a pretty sweeping declaration that they are "not a news organization." …
Gibbs: You and I should watch sometime around 9 o'clock tonight. Or 5 o'clock this afternoon.
Tapper: I'm not talking about their opinion programming or issues you have with certain reports. I'm talking about saying thousands of individuals who work for a media organization, do not work for a "news organization" — why is that appropriate for the White House to say?
Gibbs: That's our opinion.

Maybe the media is experiencing the first stirrings of regret over having created this monster. If the Obamination Administration succeeds in destroying Fox News and talk radio (probably with a race-based attack by the FCC Diversity Czar), next in the crosshairs will be the liberal establishment media that installed The Anointed One in office. In countries run by Marxists, every word must conform to the regime's script. Hopey McChange's enablers may get eaten last, but they will still get eaten.

Unsurprisingly, Obama puppeteer George Soros agrees that a news organization is not a news organization unless it says exactly what the government wants it to say. His Moveon.org outfit is circulating a petition demanding that all Democrat pols stay off Fox News.

This is how totalitarians have done things everywhere else they've taken power, so none of this should come as a surprise as the militant left consolidates control of our country.

Hat tip: It's Curtains for You.

Comments

Tapper continues to commit actual journalism. Somebody had better put a stop to that right away.

The left despises anything it cannot control. Witness Anita Dunn bragging about how the Obama campaign completely controlled and manipulated the establishment press during the campaign. Of the nine major networks — ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, PBS, MSNBC, NPR, FoxNews, and Univision — all but one are willing propagandists for the Obama regime; who may offer an occasional half-hearted criticism, but are otherwise part of the team. They are controlled. So, the regime pats them on the head and gives them the occasional. The one that isn’t is considered a dangerous rogue.

Also, the War on FoxNews is a bright and shiny distraction to keep people from looking too deeply into the Health Care bill, the tanking economy, or the administration’s dithering over Afghanistan.

Been nice knowing ya, ABC's Jake Tapper.

When your bosses are directed by Dear Reader to throw you under the ubiquitous bus, I betcha FOXNEWS would be glad to have you.

What a bunch of namby pamby pussies. Do they watch Queef Olberdork or Rachel Mannow? Maybe those two sycophants constitute objective journalism in the opinion of the WH.
God save us from these inept, hapless rejcts in the WH.

Sadly, that's most likely the last time Tapper gets to ask that sort of question.

Stalin was famous for having said "no man - no problem." He would have his enemies murdered. That mindset is just part of the beautiful vast tapestry of the Leftwing way of life. Obama is doing what he can to off his enemies in the only way he can right now. Right now he can't actually commit murder and get away with it. But you can bet he's working on that problem too.

Um, if what I read of Soros' interview with Steve Kroft on 60 Minutes, Dec. 20, 1998,is correct, would a government be ok with investigating his conduct in Budapest? I'm not taking sides, I'm just curious. Seems he admitted, in his own words, to taking the property of Jews, just to maintain the cover of being a christian, or at least, a non-Jew, knowing what the fate of the Jews was? And rationalized it by saying that if he didn't do it, others would do it anyway. How is that different than a guard at a death camp taking the property of Jewish inmates? Said guards being denied entry to the U.S. after the war, or being deported.

VK, I actually agree with you that the Obama Administration's attack on the Fox show is more about distracting the propaganda that's fighting the need for health reform, their inherited economy fiasco, and the blundered Bush occupation on Afghanistan. However, isn't this fair game?

Posted by: andy42302 at October 21, 2009 2:28 PM

No, I don't think it's "fair game," I think it's "gutter politics" when one side simply demonizes their opponents instead of addressing their arguments; and it's gutter politics no matter which side does it.

Posted by: V the K at October 21, 2009 2:33 PM

Break out the pitchforks & torches!

I'd like to do that but I think they're banned in Massachusetts, where I live. Please take pity on me and smuggle in a pitchfork and a torch or two.

I can't remember who said it on Fox, but they described Fox as "the Alamo of journalism." Perfect description. Unfortunately, all of the Alamo defenders were wiped out.....

Posted by: Son of Taz at October 21, 2009 2:38 PM

"when one side simply demonizes their opponents instead of addressing their arguments"

Kinda like the 109th DeLay theorem or perhaps Moonbattery itself? How about what we saw the past 8 years? Recall the MSNBC rejection of the Bush admin? Oh, wait,, that was the o_t_h_e_r side so it was, uh, umm,,,fair game????

Gutter politics???

Yeah, yeah, yeah, you hated when the other side does it yadda, yadda, yadda, yet like the tea baggers, you had your head in the sand for eight years (or like the Fox show, your head up Bush'e ass). What a fraud!

You're a hypocritical asswipe VK who's words only have merit in a delusional environment such as here.

One wonders if the White House's "opinion" is being rendered by the flushed netwrok formerly known as MSNBC, as their two opinion program big mouths were at the WH the other day for some double-secret face to face with Obama

When his own commander on the ground in A-stan and now his Defense Sec. can't seem to get face time with him

Apparently Generals Olbermann and Maddow have far more to offer in Obama's war against FOX than McChrytal and Sec. Gates do to the war in A-stan

Posted by: drillanwr at October 21, 2009 5:00 PM

KHarn, VK seems to have somewhat of a gift for gab so your trolling isn't necessary.

Additionally, translations are better left to people that are literate and can objectively relay a message. Your response brings your literacy into question but it doesn't on the latter.

Posted by: andy42302 at October 21, 2009 5:01 PM

Obama's reaction to criticism is un-Presidential. If he can't take criticism from Americans, he should shine shoes at O'Hare. Taking shit is part of the job, especially when it's shit you deserve. Bush took lots of shit, most (but not all) of which he didn't deserve, and he didn't bleat about it. It's called "manhood."

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 21, 2009 5:26 PM

Jay, The Fox Show was a mouthpiece for the Bush Admin for 8 yrs, The Bush Admin shut off MSNBC for the same reasons Obama's shutting off The Fox Show.
The Bush reaction to the people's criticism (which went down to like 14% at one point) was "so ?" and they dismissed it as "fluctuating pools".
WTF are you talking about? Oh, I forget that you guys want to start history on 1-20-09.

Posted by: andy42302 at October 21, 2009 5:52 PM

Bullshit, comrade. Provide a link to the Bush White House bleating about any news organization. That's a new feature with the Mulatto Mediocrity.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 21, 2009 6:07 PM

The Bush administration never tried to say that news networks weren't news networks, no matter what they said.

Posted by: Kevin R. at October 21, 2009 6:12 PM

Jay, there you go again with your bs and childish demands for links (and whatayaknow, lapdog sidekick Kevin R promptly at your side). If my comments had no merits, you'd quickly call me on it now wouldn't you?
All I said was that Bush dismissed MSBNC. And he did. But obviously this wasn't something that was brought up on The Fox Show. Accordingly, you didn't catch it. Don't challenge me on 101 basics as it only brings out your ignorance. Seriously! By the way, why does VK need all of you blind and mindless trolls anyways? Oh, this is moonbattery and that's the protocol. WTF was I thinking?

Posted by: andy42302 at October 21, 2009 6:26 PM

Fascinating logic. I asked for a link because I think your assertion is horseshit, and you won't be able to provide a link. Very ACORN-like: make assertions, but backwater on demands to substantiate them.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 21, 2009 6:28 PM

And you Jay, are how quick to provide evidence that Bush, particularity in his last years, gave opposing news agencies due attention? If I were wrong, you'd be on me like stink on shit. But you're no more than a cheap ideological whore, a political hack at his/hers worse. And you know it.

Posted by: andy42302 at October 21, 2009 6:38 PM

Links, comrade, links. Links, or STFU.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 21, 2009 6:41 PM

Jay, prove me wrong or you stfu. Otherwise, we continue to play YOUR game built on the foundation of your own stupidity, a game that you should already know I have no interest in engaging in. As stated before, ignorance can be corrected. Stupidity cannot.

Posted by: andy42302 at October 21, 2009 6:57 PM

So you admit you have no substantiation for your assertion. I expected as much.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 21, 2009 6:59 PM

Aside from your trolling my comments to VK and your admission to having no rebuttal, what exactly are you trying to say Jay?

Posted by: andy42302 at October 21, 2009 7:03 PM

Lapdog sidekick? This is good.

What I said was simply that the Bush administration never tried to say that news networks weren't news networks, no matter what they said.

Provide links contrary, please.

...provide evidence that Bush, particularity in his last years, gave opposing news agencies due attention?

This isn't about an administration giving news agencies due attention.

Tapper: I'm not talking about their opinion programming or issues you have with certain reports. I'm talking about saying thousands of individuals who work for a media organization, do not work for a "news organization" — why is that appropriate for the White House to say?

This troll is great. See, we are the trolls. LOL!!!

Posted by: Kevin R. at October 21, 2009 7:07 PM

I'm not trying to say, but rather saying, that Obama is un-Presidential in explicitly singling out news media for opprobium because they don't fellate him on a daily basis. Surely anyone of normal intelligence would hav grasped that.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 21, 2009 7:08 PM

I will amplify. I'm saying Soetoro is not fit to be a Chicago alderman, less a state senator, still less a US Senator, or is ridiculously unfit to be President of the United States. And we have liberals like you to blame for this outrageous state of affairs. Obama would be over his head as a toll booth collector on a turnpike.

Is that clear enough for you?

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 21, 2009 7:16 PM

That's an interesting twist from your original accusation and/or point Jay.

Kevin, yes I well understand (and have understood for a long time) that you are indeed the trolls.

Posted by: andy42302 at October 21, 2009 7:20 PM

I love it. According to Andy, we are the trolls. I hope everyone understands this.

Wikipedia:

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[2]

Posted by: Kevin R. at October 21, 2009 7:28 PM

So you have no substantiation for your assertion. I thought as much.

Bottom line: the Negro Nullity is thin-skinned, incompetent, emotionally brittle, and hopelessly over his head. He's shitting in his pants and bleating like a bitch after taking 0.0001% of the crap Bush took without flinching. Obama's not much of a man. We'd better off with Michelle.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 21, 2009 7:28 PM

Jay, Obama won and your guy lost. I dealt with that same thing in 2000 and 2004. I also saw the U.S. suffer it's worst attack on our soil in history and the most incompetent governance that I've seen in my lifetime. You guys won't even give the new government a chance! Why? Because they're Democrats? Because he's black? You been supporting teabagging him since 4 weeks in office while sitting on your hands 8 years prior while now admitting you didn't like the GOP years. Explain that please.

Posted by: andy42302 at October 21, 2009 7:31 PM

No, because he's incompetent.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 21, 2009 7:33 PM

Obama won and your guy lost.

Actually, McCain wasn't my guy. I wanted someone that espoused the ideas of freedom, liberty, free enterprise, Constitutional Republicanism and limited government. It's not right to say that McCain was "our" guy - unless you see politics as Party against Party.

Posted by: Kevin R. at October 21, 2009 7:40 PM

Consider further your "logic," if you'll accept the loose usage. You're excoriating Bush for a cheap shot from the sheep shaggers (on 9/11), yet defending the "new government" as needing a "chance" on ...10/21? WTF?

As for "teabagging," I defer to your obviously great experience with this, as you and all Democrats are presumptively perverts. So please enlighten us. I, along with most Americans, literally had to Google the term to find out what you and your fellow Reds, homosexuals, and other degenerates meant by the term.

Bottom line: Obama is a born shoeshine boy who was put in office by Reds to advance their interests, and he will remain in office only so long as he continues to do so. It's why he won't appear anywhere without his teleprompter binky, without orders from Soros or whomever, which in turn is why he won't face Fox News. Obama is an embarrassment to all Americans.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 21, 2009 7:44 PM

You guys won't even give the new government a chance!

It isn't supposed to be a "new government." It is supposed to be a new administration.

Posted by: Kevin R. at October 21, 2009 7:46 PM

...a new administration within the confines of the American Constitutional Republican form of government, I might add.

Posted by: Kevin R. at October 21, 2009 7:52 PM

Obama is obviously terrified to appear anywhere he can't receive his orders on what to say from his master. Anyone who's ever seen him respond to a question off the teleprompter will instantly appreciate why. Think George Clooney without a script written by a higher primate.

Man, I need a new hobby.

Posted by: andy42302 at October 22, 2009 12:28 AM

Jay and Kevin R, you're absolutely right. If 9/11 had occurred in 2009 instead of 2001, I'd never let you guys hear the end of how "Bush" didn't do enough to protect us and it wasn't Obama's fault because he had been in office only eight months.

But since it DID happen in 2001, I'm going to go ahead and excoriate Bush, but let Clinton off the hook for HIS eight years of not doing a damn thing to stop terrorism...even to the point of refusing Sudan's offer to hand over Bin Laden.

Because, you see, I'm a nasty left-winger and hypocrisy is my specialty. Also, since I've got my lips glued on to Obama's ass, I'm going to project that hero-worship on to you and Bush (and McCain).

Why am I such a damned weasel? Can anyone help me?

Posted by: andy42302 at October 22, 2009 12:34 AM

Yeah Anonymous, Perino admitted that Bush shut MSNBC out or by Jay's definition, became scared of them (or does that only apply to Dems?). I could have easily referenced that per Jay's request for links but didn't because a) if Jay, et al are going to argue politics, they should at least stay up with current news, b) Jay really didn't care if there were links or not as it was simply a trolling tactic (kinda like VK throws a rock and runs while his kibitzing rodeo clowns create their non sequitur smoke and mirror rhetoric, c)it's been said and proven here that nothing I can prove proves anything.

Posted by: andy42302 at October 22, 2009 5:28 AM

Why shouldn't have Bush shut out MSDNC? They're nothing but a mouth piece for the dems. They're not a "news organization". Although I never did see the "MSNBC Unwelcome" sign out at the WH doors. If someone is not called on at a press conference, it doesn't necessarily mean the organization is "shut out". However, if administration officials admit they're attempting to run a news organization out of business, and refuse to appear on news shows until said organization toes the party line, that's intimidation, and strong-arm tactics

Posted by: UpNorth at October 22, 2009 7:12 AM

I agree that MSNBC leans way left and I'll even concede that you're correct that they're a mouthpiece for the DNC. But what I don't understand is all the tears and foot-stomping from the right when The FOX Show is called out when they have been much more opinionated, far more of a mouthpiece for the RNC, and by far, much less of a news organization than MSNBC.

Posted by: Andy42302 at October 22, 2009 8:37 AM

That's OK, Andy. I knew you didn't have any links. I won't rub it in.

None of the Americans are stamping their feet about Obama's hissy fit over Fox (we leave foot-stamping to the liberals). Rather, we're amused. The Messiah is terrified of any venue where he can't use his teleprompter binky (recall his refusal to participate in town hall debates with McCain?), and this is just another example. He's dropping a load in his shorts at the prospect of being asked a tougher question than "Would you please tell us wonderful you are?"

by far, much less of a news organization than MSNBC.

And here I was thinking you had no sense of humor.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 22, 2009 9:35 AM

This just in: that serious news organization MSNBC, while debating Obama's childish hissy fit over Fox News, gets an email from the White Houseduring a broadcast in progress. Nah, they're not in the bag for Obama. Never happen.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 22, 2009 9:45 AM

You see what Andy has done?

The topic is about the Obama administration attempting to destroy the credibility of a news channel by declaring that Fox News Channel isn't a news channel and that Democrats should not go on Fox News Channel.

Andy's response is that Bush did the same thing to MSNBC.

No.

The Bush administration did not attempt to destroy the credibility of MSNBC by declaring it wasn't a news channel and that Republicans should not go on MSNBC.

Andy's tactic is a classic troll tactic.

Posted by: Kevin R. at October 22, 2009 10:35 AM

Kevin, of course Andy's argument was crap. It's why I challenged for a link, with result: bupkis.

If Bush had said MSNBC wasn't a news organization (or done anything like Obama has now done) the uproar would have shaken the rafters of Heaven. Only now would the story have moved to page 2 of the NYT. All of the alphabet networks and other Red-infested outfits (e.g., Daily Kos, HuffPo, Daily Informer, Media Matters) would still be howling about freedom of the press, muzzling critics, etc. Stone Age natives in Borneo with bones through their noses would know all about it.

Since no one ever heard about such a thing, it's guaranteed it never happened, and that was a little disinformation from the comrades. Hence, no link.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at October 22, 2009 1:15 PM

Jay, my exact words were "The Bush Admin shut off MSNBC for the same reasons Obama's shutting off The Fox Show".

You're doing exactly as I claimed, trolling for VK to fabricate your own argument and then cliam victory. Nothing new here. Surely you understand that everyone that reads the forums here have caught on to your smoke and windows childish nonsense. Your multiple personalities don't count as everyone by the way, uh, at least not in the real world.
