Delaware School Board Sees Light: Zachary Christie Gets Sentence Reduced
Posted by The MaryHunter at October 14, 2009 3:42 AM
Last we heard of Delaware first-grader Zachary Christie, he had been suspended for 45 days and sent to a school for criminals-in-training for bringing a viciously dangerous weapon to school: a combination folding knife, fork and spoon.
Good news: he's been paroled, thanks in part, no doubt, to a barrage of angry emails from you, dear reader, and others like you.
The seven-member Christina School Board voted unanimously Tuesday to reduce the punishment for kindergartners and first-graders who take weapons to school or commit violent offenses to a suspension ranging from three to five days.
The punishment is still far beyond the crime, if you can call it a crime.
"I want to get him back as soon as possible. I want to put this behind him as soon as possible," said Debbie Christie, Zachary's mother. "But I also want him to know that he has a voice, and when things are not right, he can stand up and speak out against them."
It sounds like his parents learned a good lesson, as well. In fact, could this be an allegory for all of us. Oh sure, there's the School Board, taking a little re-think about its policy:
A spokeswoman for the school district said more changes to the school system's code of conduct were possible in the coming months.
but there's obviously something bigger here at work. Something like an American public that is absolutely sick of liberal elite statists trying to control our lives at every level. An American public that is not going to take it anymore.

Could it be a little "common sense" has made it's way into the educational system!?
NO, ONLY AFTER NATIONAL OUTRAGE.

Back to the story. I'm so glad this little boy is getting vindication. I'm just sad that he had to learn at such a tender age about the lunacy of moonbats. You want to shield your children from such realities as long as you can, you know?

My thanks to the idiot spammer that will probably result in yet another site installing reCapture or something similar.

Good thing his scentence was commuted. He would have been eaten alive in that school for screwed up kids for 45 days, hell, for A day. It really is sad when things like this happen but if a Muslim tries to take flight school we turn the other way.

In the HBO series "Band of Brothers" one segment showing the liberation of a concentration camp is titled "Why we Fight". In reading the details of the very sad story of Zachary Cristie this is indeed why we fight,.

There was a time when teachers and principals were allowed to use discretion and common sense in disciplinary matters, but school boards have been forced to come up with other options.
Zero tolerance results from the failure of liberal education policies that forbid the expulsion of dangerous and disruptive students, because after all every child is special, and if they're being bad it's just because we haven't reached them.
