In general, anyone with a dissenting view is shouted down and slandered by the Left. Furthermore, many on the left have long been actively pushing for the so- called Fairness Doctrine, which is designed to muzzle conservative talk radio (The only mass- media venue in which conservatives really have the edge over liberals).

Re "dares to speak". I hope you will acknowledge that people who protested against the war during Bush's term were demonized as "unpatriotic". Look what happened to the Dixie Chicks when they exercised their "free speech". How is that any different?

Re the Tea Party movement, 9/12 was a big event, that got lots of coverage and people said what they wanted, no free speech was stifled.

As for dissenting views being shouted down, look no further than this past summer at some town halls where people supporting the government on health care were shouted down.

Andy, you're losing harder than usual today. Not getting any? I don't know about Dave, but I sure wasn't a partisan Bush follower; I was seriously disappointed in him. The thing is, the alternatives (both times) were an order of magnitude worse. Now, I still would have voted for a third term, given what a worthless POS maximum leader zero is, and I absolutely oppose him in every aspect of his policies. Explain to me why I shouldn't.

I fully expect he, and the clowns he's surrounded himself with, to do some seriously dangerous things TO us, not for us. Just because he hasn't so far says nothing. Just because he says he is against something counts for nothing. He is a giant liar.

I've said it again and again, but it evidently bears repeating.

Do NOT expect us to defend everything said or did, or for that matter, any other "conservative" politician. Don't throw out some random policy of his, then go "AHA!" when we refuse to stand by it. We all had criticism of Bush's administration, especially in the areas of spending and border security.

Don't project your hero-worship onto us. We didn't spend all our time kissing Bush's ass the way you did for Clinton or do for Obama now. Most of us have pinned our "hope" somewhere else - ourselves, God, whatever.

Frankly, I'm tired of having to explain this to moonbats, but evidently the ones here still don't grasp it.
