Even if it were possible, impeaching Obama would do little good. Biden would become president, and while he's more entertaining, politically he's little different. In addition, it would galvanize the left behind Obama, while currently they are reeling at the blows they've taken. Remember, Clinton became MORE popular after he was impeached.

The problem we have is with the current crop of lunatic progressives currently running the country... into the ground. We must defeat them ALL, not just the head lunatic. The way to do that is at the ballot box, through investigation, and through the rule of law. Defeat them in elections, dig into the dark pits of their support and fundraising networks, and prosecute those who violate the law (and there are many). Keep them reeling with a series of body blows rather than trying to end the match through a wild haymaker that is likely to fail and leave us vulnerable.

Evil Otto - but, I don't think Biden has the worship factor or MSM protection, so it would be a real game changer. If the MSM were to scrutinize Biden with even a half of hart of effort, he would not only be a Lame Duck, he'd be a No Legged Duck. Just leave his beak with him so he can continue to make an ass of himself when he speaks.

Don't doubt the media and the leftist drones in their ability to heap worship on whichever leftist is in power. Biden may not be insane, but he's a weak man, and would be just as much of a tool of Pelosi and her statist ilk as Obama is. Nothing would change if Obama were removed from office, because in the end it's not Obama calling the shots anyway. We're dealing with a whole movement of corrupt radicals, not just one. They must ALL be discredited and defeated. The way to do that is to humiliate them at the ballot box, not by trying to impeach one man.

In any event, if he were impeached the left would organize around Obama, making him a martyr to their cause if he were removed from office. Right now we've got them on the defensive, and if the economy doesn't improve by 2012 (and it won't), Barry is done. It will do the country better to DEFEAT the progressives rather than remove only one. Their policies must be shown to be the disaster we all know they are. Their ideas must be exposed. They must be forced to answer questions.

You guys ever study martial arts? You never commit all your energy to ONE blow, especially if it leaves you vulnerable. Impeachment is the political equivalent of the nuclear weapon, and as such is always a weapon of last resort. Short of Obama getting caught in bed with a dead hooker or live boy, there's almost no chance that impeachment would work and remove him, even on the slim chance proceedings could be started. Let us not waste our time on a strategy that has almost no chance of success, no matter how satisfying it might be.

Here's the short version of The Joe Biden Story:

I was just a wee laddie when Joe Biden first ran for the Senate. Delaware already had a good Republican Senator - Bill Roth. Biden was the young upstart, running for the other Senate seat against established Republican J. Caleb Boggs (now THERE'S a name for a politician that sounds like it's right out of Central Casting).

President Nixon was in the White House, Watergate wasn't on the radar yet, and it was only nine years after the assasination of President Kennedy. Joe Biden was seen as a young, idealistic, clean-cut young Irish Catholic lawyer with a nice wife and a growing family. It was all very romantic and Kennedy-esque. Biden got in by less than two percentage points, and Delaware is a small state.....

Biden was ALWAYS known for shooting his mouth off, but early on it was seen as a folksy and endearing trait. Joe supposedly had the Irish "Gift Of Gab", which was not suprising, since his father had been a used car salesman when the family suffered a reversal of fortune earlier in Joe's life. That endeared him to a few people as well.

Shortly after being elected, Senator Biden's wife was killed in a horrific traffic accident about two miles from where I'm writing this. Sympathy had a lot to do with the early part of Biden's career, plus he was nowhere near as far to the Left as he is now. He truly was a "Conservative Democrat" and a "Moderate" back then. Remember, the Political Left hadn't totally lost it's mind yet......

Flash forward 15 years. Your friend TonyD95B is in college, Ronaldus Maximus is in the White House, and someone whispered in Joe Biden's ear that he has a shot at being President.

That's when the really drastic changes occurred. Biden began drifting farther Left, and became an embarassment to himself, his family, and his community. His verbal gaffes were no longer seen as a sign of being spontaneous and plain-spoken; they were seen as a sign of his desperation and mid-life crisis.

Even still, Delaware is a small state with a Democratic majority, and Biden continued to get elected. A lot of it was just inertia, and some of it was sort of a perverse pride.

If our party runs another McCain or other conservative-lite in '12, I'm going to be seriously pissed.

Rush Limbaugh suggested that one of the reason McCain got nominated in 08 to start with, is because of "the left's cross-voting." I'd be in favor of every state passing laws putting the kibosh on the 'open primary' business. The entire point is to allow each party to deal internally and nominate the candidate they think is best, not allow voters registered with other parties to come in and throw sand in the gears.

If minor parties are left out of the process, so be it. Last time I checked, they all nominate their own candidates for President anyway.

And yes, I remember Rush's "operation Chaos," but hey, turnabout is fair play. It's not like the Democrats weren't doing the same thing.
