Awarded $2.2 Million for Bed Sores

Posted by Van Helsing at October 5, 2009 7:16 AM

If we really want to make healthcare more affordable, an obvious first step would be to limit the demented lawsuits that have been driving costs through the stratosphere on behalf of parasitical trial lawyers, who contribute lavishly to Democrat coffers. In the latest outrage, Eric Trainor, a construction worker who got in a car accident in suburban New York, has been awarded $2.2 million for having bed sores.

[His lawyer Raymond] Keegan said the money would help provide for Trainor's three young children, replace his battery-powered wheelchair and allow him to buy a special van.

It ought to be one sharp van.

The jackpot will also help keep Keegan in champagne and caviar, and the rest of us paying too much for healthcare. But relax, Big Government will solve everything by seizing control of the entire industry. Then we won't have to worry about the system being rigged to transfer our money to Democrat constituencies like lawyers and unions.

On a tip from Wiggins.

You don't understand. The 2.2 million is the settlement, the chair and van are what he can afford after the lawyers take their cut.

This sounds about right.

Since it's always been the desire of the smelly hippies on the left to spread filth and disease, I see no reason why they wouldn't reward such efforts.

I said it before and I'll say it again, they're going to bring back the Black Death.
