Another Benedict Arnold: Open Letter to ObamaCare Queen Sen. Olympia Snowe

Posted by The MaryHunter at October 13, 2009 10:50 AM

Dear Sen. Snowe:
I am not horribly surprised that you finally fell in step with the artificial health-care panic incited by President Obama and the Democrat party. You teased me and all conservatives there a bit, Senator, giving us the illusion of resilience and actual thoughtfulness on the topic. Alas, you once again let down the GOP and a majority of the American people.
In voting yes for ObamaCare, you are voting to kill Medicare and slash health care benefits for senior citizens, and worse. Thanks to your support, Americans are now one step closer to losing our very bodies to a government take-over. When Americans cannot make their own health care decisions with their providers anymore, we might as well be called slaves.
The economic tricks that appear to make this plan revenue-neutral are bogus, of course. And yet, I can't imagine that you have actually read the whole bill in order to determine this. If you have, I'd be keen to hear your take on it. All that America sees, however, is that you are not a "fiscal conservative", as you have claimed. You are a big-spending liberal, period.
I sincerely hope that your constituents will rethink your position as Senator of the Great State of Maine. If I were a Maine resident, I would beg for you to change parties. Heck, I'm NOT a Maine resident and I AM begging you to change parties, just so we can keep the scorecard straight.
Hopefully, the remaining Senate Republicans and thoughtful conservative Democrats will continue to thwart this radical takeover of 1/5 of the nation's economy, not to mention our very lives.
Respectfully,
TMH

Hey kids! How about a CAPTION CONTEST? What exactly are Sens. Snowe and Kyl saying to each other?

So I said to the President, "You have to be at least this big to ride. Unfortunately, he gave me an STD and I have to vote on the Free Healthcare to get the antidote."

Obama made me an offer I just couldn't refuse.

Posted by: TheScribbler at October 13, 2009 11:14 AM

That's nice William suggesting shooting a sitting senator? Further, this letter is incorrect in numerous ways. Medicare will not be killed, but improved. Funny, how it's always Republicans who voted against medicare, yet now claim to be champions of it. This letter also states, "artificial health-care panic incited by President Obama and the Democrat party." Artificial? Give me a break. This problem is as real as the day is long. Millions go without, thousands lose care everyday, and the right's idea is to "die quickly" or go to the emergency room, which forces premiums to go up.

Get a grip, Ghost! As usual, you libs wouldn't know a play on words if it, well, banged in the arse. Abolutely no sense of humor, which is what the "caption contest" is all about. Geesh!

Uh huh. That's the line often parroted by the drones in the progressive collective, but there's just no reality to it. Anyone who needs health care receives it, the right's idea is not to "die quickly." I would say that that is an idea of your own manufacturing, but the fact is it's not even yours. It's Rep. Alan Grayson's, and you're merely plagiarizing.

What's forcing premiums to go up, is the left's refusal to allow true choice and competition between private insurers across state lines. Additionally, costs can be controlled by preventing frivolous lawsuits through much needed tort reform.

These solutions are fought against by the left, because implementing them would reduce the demand for a so called public option, eliminating the stepping stone needed to move towards an inferior single payer system, which would then sink it's tentacles deep into government and into the private lives of every citizen.

And that's the really the crux of the matter here. This is not about healthcare reform, it's about gaining power for a leftist governmental machine that would send America into the abyss of socialism from which there probably would not be any return except through implementing the intended use of the 2nd Amendment.

"Americans are now one step closer to losing our very bodies to a government take-over. When Americans cannot make their own health care decisions with their providers anymore, we might as well be called slaves."

Sounds like a pro-choice argument.

Olympia Snowe, explaining her vote in favor of the Baucus bill:

Is this bill all that I want? Far from it. Is it all that it can be? Far from it. But when history calls, history calls.

She admits the bill sucks, but she's voting for it in the name of "history."

The woman is an idiot.

Posted by: V the K at October 13, 2009 11:37 AM

Sounds like a pro-choice argument.

Only if you're the kind of idiot that confuses control over one's own life with the choice to terminate someone else's life as a matter of convenience.

Posted by: V the K at October 13, 2009 11:38 AM

BTW, if Carly Fiorina wins in California, we'll have three Olympia Snowe's in Congress. (Four if you count Lindsey Graham.)

Posted by: V the K at October 13, 2009 11:39 AM

J, your paranoia is getting the better of you. In addition to your fear of "the big bad Government killing Granny" is pathetic, when insurance companies have even sunk so low as to call "baby fat a pre-existing condition". Further, when something is quoted, it's not plagiarism, it's just a quote.

Your idea that everyone gets care if they need it is true, however, when an uninsured individual goes to the emergency room, the costs in general go up. In turn, the costs to insurers rise, hence your premiums go up. So you wish to do away with "frivolous lawsuits", who protects those patients then?

THIS is why I posted my shameless plug for the Conservative party candidate, Doug Hoffman, over the filthy RINO running for NY 23rd. I have never before really gotten involved in a congressional campaign, but I am now. If I should return a Pelosi-with-an-R to the congress, how could I possibly face Moonbattery?

I sent letters today to the RNC, in response to their request for some of my money. It said:

Dear Sirs:
I will contribute to the Republican Party when you people cease and desist from nominating for the GOP line the likes of Dede Scozzafava for the NY 23rd district. How dare you allow some backroom “committee” to appoint her, a RINO of the worst ilk. She is in favor of abortion, gay marriage, card check, big government, pork, Obamacare, and Cap and Trade (Tax and Kill). Not only that, she’s endorsed by the Working Families Party (read ACORN).
What is wrong with you?

Anonymouse, re your "pro-choice" observation: How about this from the Hypocratic Oath:

I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone.

Pro-choice is the choice to kill innocent life. Killing was, last time I checked, doing harm to someone.

Besides, how can doctors 'prescribe regimens for the good of ... patients' if the Govt is interfering, making the choices for them?

Karin, you rock. :D
Others should do likewise.

Stoned Goat, tort reform doesn't mean the complete absence of protection under the law. It just means reform. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get someone to deliver a baby in some parts of this country because of this? The doctors just go Galt.

Posted by: Karin at October 13, 2009 12:38 PM

There's that annoying whine again. Where the hell is that coming from?

You think I have time to actually read these things !

Here we go, that's the beginning of the end. The conservative dam lasted for as long as one traitor didn't move out. Considering her past, I think she's simply a Liberal posing as a conservative. On a side note, she totally looks like a man.

HERE IS A TYPICAL SCENARIO ALL ACROSS THE USA:

"During my last night's shift in the ER, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient with a shiny new gold tooth, multiple elaborate tattoos, a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and a new cellular telephone equipped with her favorite R&B tune for a ringtone. Glancing over the chart, one could not help noticing her payer status: Medicaid. She smokes more than one costly pack of cigarettes every day and, somehow, still has money to buy beer And our president expects me to pay for this woman's health care? Our nation's health care crisis is not a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses. It is a crisis of culture — a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on vices while refusing to take care of one's self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance. A culture that thinks "I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me."

Life is really not that hard…. Most of us reap what we sow.

Don't you agree?

Much like yesterday, when I was picking up a prescription, there was this youthful negress, with her offspring in the cart, picking up a script with some form of government card. The grogeries in the cart yelled "WIC" to me, but there in her ear was the blue-flashing borg implant, paired to the cellphone she needs for what? You know, my mother spent a lot of time on welfare as a child, back in the first depression, so I have no truck with true poverty, but I've developed a truly viscious contempt for these parasites that I'm so "considerate" as to support.

Evilwrench, who is to say she did not have the bluetooth prior to going on welfare? Or that that is not her only phone? She may have been a server in a restaurant and was laid off, which unemployment benefits are low for servers. Now I will give you, there are abuses in the system, however "negress" is pretty offensive and uncalled for. Yet, it is your ilk who whine "I'm not a racist!" So, I can assume the explosion we hear after health care passes will be your head?

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at October 13, 2009 1:52 PM

My head hurts again.

Posted by: MoogieP at October 13, 2009 2:00 PM

"Youthful negress" describes her exactly. What should I have called her? You, as usual, twist yourself all around trying to find a way to describe her parasitism without admitting the very real probability (note: not possibility) that she is, indeed, gaming the system in ways you could scarcely imagine. I've had enough of it, and it's the fault of these parasitic freaks that my sympathy is at an end. Bleed your own heart dry; mine's off-limits to them.

Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at October 13, 2009 2:06 PM

Oh, and, no, the explosion won't be my head.

I can't remember where I left it. Maybe you've seen it? I believe I saw a copy of it right here on this desk. But, you know, lets not talk about that right now. It's probably not a good time for you. I can come back after we do the vote thing that we do and worry with it later, when it's more convenient....."

Oh, and Ollie (I can call you Ollie, can't I?), I would also like to thank you for taking the wind out of the "who couldn't love the Social Security and Medicare programs?" sail. You have brilliantly exposed these programs for what they are: big ponzi schemes. No benefits. Just endless taxes.

When the time came for me, a 62 year old on the verge of retirement, to start using your mandated "services," to pull out some of the zillions of dollars that I "contributed" (ha!) over the decades, you pull the rug on me and say "ha, ha! Fooled you! But now just wait ... I've got something even BETTER over here that you're going to love!"

Bitch.
