Alan Grayson Digs for New Lows

Posted by Van Helsing at October 21, 2009 8:08 PM

Uh oh, Orlando Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) has gotten loose from his cage at Disney World again. His latest tasteless publicity stunt is to proclaim that 44,789 Americans die every year because the government has not yet seized control of the healthcare industry, and to use this fabricated fact to promote a ghoulish website devoted to blaming freedom for death itself.

This Names of the Dead website stunt violates House ethics rules because it was created out of Grayson's Congressional office. But who wants to squabble about ethics when 122 Americans die screaming in agony every day because Obamalosi has been denied control of the healthcare industry?

In case you missed Grayson's previous spectacle:

It isn't easy to separate yourself from the Democrat pack by being even more shameless, obnoxious, mendacious, and insane than the rest. Congrats, Rep. Grayson. Instead of 15 minutes, you get half an hour for your efforts. Unless the men in white coats arrive sooner.

On a tip from John R.

Comments

Van Helsing of Moonbattery reaches for new lows "defend the insurance industry". Give me a Goddamn break! Again, the right cannot take it when a member of the Democratic Party has a spine. I will give ya, the site should not have been generated out of congressional offices, however, his best intentions were there. Like your neo-con slop, you are more than willing to continue the status quo. Tell me, why do you hate your fellow Americans? And btw, it is the Democratic Party, not Democrat Party...why do you hate Jefferson?

Anonymous, what industry do you work in?

Posted by: J at October 21, 2009 8:33 PM

"Why do you hate Jefferson?"

Heh! I was thinking the same thing about you, anon.

Van Helsing writes: "His latest tasteless publicity stunt is to proclaim that 44,789 Americans die every year because the government has not yet seized control of the healthcare industry, and to use this fabricated fact to promote a ghoulish website devoted to blaming freedom for death itself."

1. Grayson stated that the numbers resulted from lack of health insurance, not because the government has not taken over the healthcare industry.

2. Fabricated fact? Support your allegation with facts, else we have a pot/kettle incident.

3. To allege that Grayson is more shameless, obnoxious, mendacious, and insane than the rest of the house members is itself an outrageous, mendacious, and insane charge. Grayson is not even in the same league as Pelosi, Waters, or Waxman to name a few.

The government does not need to be more involved in healthcare than it already is, but the absence of facts in blogposts like this will eventually run this site into the ditch.

This is Chris Matthews style crap....

Grayson's numbers are based on a Harvard study which states, treatable ailments are causing deaths amongst Americans who cannot or are w/o health insurance.
http://www.harvardscience.harvard.edu/medicine-health/articles/new-study-finds-45000-deaths-annually-linked-lack-health-coverage

For J, and Judith, I am in the communications field. Judith, disrespecting the Democratic Party name shows a disrespect for Jefferson, who started the Democratic Party. So, why was it you hated Jefferson?

Posted by: Anonymous at October 21, 2009 8:51 PM

The thing that will run this site into the ditch is the super abundance of humorless,"fact checking" trolls. Where do you guys come from? Does a short bus drive you to work?

Posted by: Judith M. at October 21, 2009 8:53 PM

Judith, do you consider me a "troll"? If so, care to provide a definition?

Posted by: Lao at October 21, 2009 8:56 PM

Judith, prefer the "echo chamber" much?

Let me demonstrate that I can see humor in news items.

Check this out. McCain voters lost testosterone.

Oh! Oh! I've got an idea: let's rip away the healthcare policies, at the point of a gun, from the hundreds of millions of Americans who are perfectly content with their coverage, so that we can save (VERY arguably) 45,000 people. Elect me! Elect me!

Posted by: D at October 21, 2009 10:33 PM

Grayson says 122 people die each day.

He repeatedly quotes an annual death figure of 44,789.

122 x 365 = 44530

44789 - 44530 = 259

Are those 259 an overage that will be left for leap years or are they zombies?

One of the many problems with this effort to nationalize medicine and 1/5th of the economy is that the numbers never add up in favor of America or Americans, just DemocRAT politicians and 259 zombies.

Who in the world let that mokey out of his cage?

Posted by: SPURWING PLOVER at October 21, 2009 11:32 PM

I'm just another left-wing douche who can't defend this outrageous display of demagoguery, so as is the leftist wont, I'm counter-attacking to try and put the Right on the defensive.

Posted by: Lao at October 22, 2009 12:02 AM

Hell, housing is more a human need than is healthcare. As we've all seen, there are millions who have lost their homes in the last year. Here's my plan: everyone has to give up his house, we'll build government housing, and everybody will have to live in it. Well, almost everybody. Naturally, the politicians will be able to keep their homes. But the rest of you piss ants, "off to the projects with you!"

Posted by: D at October 22, 2009 12:35 AM

The funny part about the current "plan" is that the benefits that would stop this socalled crisis wont kick in until 2013-2015, while the taxes and fees begin in 2010. Seems as if the "crisis" is more about the lack of taxpayers dollars being siphoned out of the bank accounts of productive citizens and businesses than it is about actual healthcare.

I generally don't mind your posts, Lao. They typically provide fodder for discussion. However, when you take a clearly humorous post too seriously it reveals a certain lack of ability to perceive social nuances. You would do better to acknowledge the joke and address the underlying issues. I like controversy, but when you have to explain every joke it drags the banter down a little, you know?

Posted by: Judith M. at October 22, 2009 5:06 AM

Mousey, you took the words right out of my keyboard. Lao and others, if it's such a crisis of horrible proportion, how come no "help" arrives until 2015? Don't they care about those 122 per day? Please answer.

Posted by: Karin at October 22, 2009 5:47 AM

There's no defense to this pathetic display. An elected congressman must have better things to do than attempt "stand-up" on the house floor. Ha Ha Ha, representative, you are so funny. Big LOLs.

Please keep up the jokes while others actually work.

Posted by: Pete at October 22, 2009 5:48 AM

Not to mention that the 44,789 figure is regarded by competent statisticians as an utter work of fiction.

I had too much testosterone, any way. But you know what I wonder? How much testerone leftists lose every time they read Moonbattery. Bwahahahahahaha!

Posted by: Judith M. at October 22, 2009 6:47 AM

Grayson is nothing more than another little commie Democrat trying to earn his stripes with outlandish rhetoric. Since he is a newcomer to the "Hate Republican's" stage he has to say the most outlandish stupidity to catch up with the pack. Every time these morons do this they are jockeying the pecking order. You've got to remember it is very difficult for any of them (trolls included) to have an original thought, that accounts for the stupidity of their statements.

I call them Obama Pies

Sorry Judith, that item indicates that testosterone loss is due to stress. I laugh way more than I stress out here.

I'm glad you don't regard me as a "troll". Some here seem to think that anyone who offers a left point of view is a troll.

Posted by: Lao at October 22, 2009 7:51 AM

Keep laughing, Lao. It's the surest antidote to left wing thinking.

Posted by: Judith M. at October 22, 2009 7:57 AM

2 and a half hours later, and no answer.

Posted by: Karin at October 22, 2009 8:10 AM

Judith, laughing is how we view the "party of no" becoming the "party of nobody". While those who identify themselves as Democrats dropped slightly, the number of those identifying themselves as republicans is plummeting down around 20% http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/19/AR2009101902451_2.html?hpid=topnews&sid=ST2009101902502

This has been a consistent number since last year, in numerous polls. So, that laughter is directed at conservatives. Who remain without leaders, without plans, and without traction.

I didn't see your query until just now Karin.

Personally, I would like to see the health care provisions kick in immediately and do not support a long lead-in time.

Posted by: G at October 22, 2009 8:29 AM

Karin, while I agree with Lao on how long it will take to begin, there are varying reports on the year. I have heard 2015,2013, and 2012. It is the right that is worried about the cost of health care reform, yet not war. You claim we don't have the money for it, yet we should in 2013 or 2013. There is also a new CBO report.
"The CBO has finally delivered the numbers. The score calls for a deficit reduction over 10 years and well under the President's Budget for Healthcare Reform."

Posted by: Anonymous at October 22, 2009 8:30 AM

Anon, those numbers are meaningless. People are fleeing the Republicans not because they are too conservative but because they are too liberal. Did you think the ever growing patriot movement was lefitst in nature? No, it's a group of people, some formerly Republican, who are sick to death of the Republican party allowing RINOs to take positions of power within the party. It's people who want to return to the principles this country was founded upon, and that does not involve any ideology found within the Democratic party.

"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."

"Controversial"? Well, if I post a political point of view different than yours, I guess that is controversial, to you.

"inflammatory"? Unlike those who oppose me I never name call.

"irrelevant"? I try to stay on topic, but I do respond to other comments and might stray as a result.

"Provoking"? See controversial. I offer a different point of view. I am interested in YOUR point of view, so long as it actually examines the issue on the table. I am quite content to engage in the give and take of debate. I admit that I have been proven wrong now and then.

"Disrupting"? See above. Would you prefer to read nothing but one side?

Posts above at 11:32 and 12:02 are the work of trolls in my opinion.

Personal attacks from the Liberal dupes.

One of the things that is being debated about government healthcare is the fact that it WILL NOT cover HALF of the people the lefties claim desperatly need "healthcare" (They never say "health insureance", which is what this is about). Another thing is the fact that covering only half these people just might BANKRUPT the United States!

Is that part of your plan?
