I attended the taxpayer's march only because we elected a black man as President. There is no giant push for socialism, there is no attempt to consolidate power in the government... all of this same hackey crap was said at the advent of social security, too. And yet, here we are. Not oppressed, not in reeducation camps, and in fact the elderly have a drastically lower poverty rate than before SS as instituted.

Except for the financial sector, which they took over. And the mortgage sector, now 90% controlled by Washington. Today, they voted to take over all student loans. They are also looking to take over health care and energy. Also, they are trying to eliminate opposition voices in media.

But aside from that...

She is asking the media to harass American citizens about possible, non-criminal OPINIONS, based on lawful actions. What possible opinions will she be encouraging the media to harass citizens about next? What is the next opinion to be singled out as unacceptable (though perfectly legal)? When we start policing opinions and thoughts based on legal actions, we are, indeed, heading for a seriously tyrannical state.

I would say that socializing medicine is a giant push for socialism. I also would venture to say that when the government mandates that they can take over a company because it is too important to fail (but not define that) is an attempt to consolidate power. Also, when the government tries to alter contracts between citizens, that too is an attempt to consolidate power.

So, yes, there is a giant push for socialism and for consolidating power.

And you really believe that. Which is damned scary.

Social Security WAS a socialist project. Sheesh! And look what it's done to our country! Families don't take care of their elderly any more.
