UN Names Fidel Castro "World Hero of Solidarity"

There is now no excuse for failing to understand that the United Nations is not merely misguided, but evil. Via

The UN has declared Fidel Castro, the longtime Communist dictator of Cuba, the "World Hero of Solidarity." Castro killed thousands and thousands of people during his rule, torturing some to death (including a few American citizens), and Cuba remains an oppressive dictatorship even today.

The UN admires the brutal dictator Castro because his brand of Third-World communist totalitarianism is the social model this organization is devoted to imposing on the entire world, which is the purpose of the global warming hoax it wastes so much of our money promoting. This goal is shared by the current occupants of the White House…

The award was presented to Castro by the President of the UN General Assembly, Miguel D'Escoto Brockmann. D'Escoto Brockmann also successfully lobbied the Obama Administration to demand that Honduras allow the return to power of its ex-president and would-be dictator, Manuel Zelaya. (Two months ago, soldiers acting on orders of Honduras's Supreme Court arrested Zelaya after he systematically abused his powers. After the Court quite legally declared that Zelaya was no longer president, he was duly replaced by Honduras's Congress with a civilian, the Congressional Speaker). The Obama Administration recently decided to impose sanctions on Honduras, and indicated it will not recognize future democratic elections in Honduras unless Honduras first lets ex-president Zelaya return to power.

…and by many Democrats in Congress…

The race-baiting liberal Congresswoman Diane Watson (D-CA) recently praised Fidel Castro as a genius who "kicked out the wealthy" from Cuba.

Other congressional admirers of the nightmarish Castro Bros. regime include Bobby Rush and Marcia Fudge.

The UN, the Obama regime, and the Marxist vermin dominating Congress these days aren't alone in admiring Fidel Castro, who urged the Soviet Union to attack America with nuclear weapons. Here's intellectual heavyweight Aubrey O'Day telling Hannity's audience that Castro is a "brilliant man," just like Hitler:

I would say that Hannity should improve his standards for panel guests, but he couldn't raise the bar above O'Day without excluding most if not all prominent Democrats.

On tips from puffdaddy and BURNING HOT. Hat tip: Michelle Malkin.

Audrey O'Day should just keep quiet and take her clothes off.

Let me second J's astute comment.

And I forgot what else I was going to say.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at September 7, 2009 10:51 AM

Oh yeah, I remember. She's attractive, but a nitwit. She says that Castro impressed her as "brilliant?" High praise indeed, from such a towering intellect as hers. What impressed her so much - did Castro prove he could operate a ball point pen, or a Coke machine?

And let's examine her comment that Castro's "outlived" a bunch of our Presidents. Presumably (I'll translate from gibberish) she meant outlived in office (not the way people of normal intelligence would put it, but never mind).

Perhaps it hadn't occurred to her that might be because he's a dictator, and doesn't have term limits?

Now please let her implement J's suggestion.

This is the bubble-headed repetition of trope that passes for intellect on the left. Right andy and Goatse?

Posted by: V the K at September 7, 2009 11:02 AM

Hey Aubrey...the word for today is LEGS.

Go out and spread the word!

Posted by: Spanky at September 7, 2009 11:13 AM

The air pressure in her head must be off the chart.

Posted by: William at September 7, 2009 11:13 AM

Just turn the volume off and imagine she is saying to you that "it's the BIGGEST I've ever seen!"

It is well past time that we applied the Bill Cosby solution to the U.N."I brought you into this world, and I can take you out of it"The U.S. was instrumental in forming the United Nations, but since then it has grown malignant, and is becoming a dangerous to all those it was meant to protect. This president will not do anything, but if we are to remain free, the next one must.

Another proud and unwitting member of the trickle down teachings of the "I'm okay, you're okay" moral relativism acadamy

Posted by: Contrarian_Libertarian at September 7, 2009 1:04 PM

James, one addendum to your apposite comment (with which I heartily agree): the American who was instrumental in bringing the UN into existence was ...Alger Hiss.

Kinda says it all, doesn't it?

Posted by: Jay Guevara at September 7, 2009 1:12 PM

So... they're basically replacing Lech Walesa with Fidel Castro as the world hero of Solidarnosc? Reconstructionists!

Move the UN to Cooba. Raise the building (I've been in it - it's a dump). Sell the land it sits on and apply it to the national debt.

Posted by: Jimbo at September 7, 2009 1:57 PM

I understand that in her circles, this Aubrey O'Day is considered an "Intellectual", and that she is a self-proclaimed whore for "urban guys" (Black thugs). I can't believe some of the people Hannity lets on his show sometimes (Kim Kardashyan, etc.)...what's with him???

Posted by: Toa at September 7, 2009 1:58 PM

Hannity knows that men tune in to see girls with big tits

Posted by: blue at September 7, 2009 4:13 PM

blue, I mean, if we have to hear tired leftist talking points anyway, at least they're coming out of somebody with nice joybags. Not like those dried out husks like Joy Behar, Arianna Huffington, or Katie Couric.

This woman is of the exact same ilk as Ghost of Wellstone, andyOwensboro, Meh, FEZ and the other assorted fruits and vegetables from the left that befoul this place with their socialist swill.

Ah, be nice to the UN, I always confuse solidarity with totalitarianism, too.

Hmm, I'm closing my eyes and trying real hard NOT to imagine that, Dave.

Posted by: The MaryHunter at September 7, 2009 7:16 PM

What else is she good for, MaryHunter?

Posted by: Dave at September 7, 2009 7:18 PM

Oddly, there's no mention of this on the UN site, nor on the front page of the Cuban government's official news agency. Looking around, all I see is this identical article posted on various blogs.

Digging a little deeper, it seems that this is actually an article about the President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, being recognized as a “World Hero of Mother Earth” for his work on the environment.

I love you people. You redefine gullible. You swallow anything, no matter how bizarre, so long as it conforms to you preconceived notions.

Have a nice day, loons!

Poor Dougy B, apparently, he can't read the Spanish link that Van Helsing provided. Tsk, tsk, so much for the multiculturalism of the left. Here is my quicky translation of what that link says in English.

AJC. – The president of the General Assembly of United Nations, the former Sandinista foreign relations minister Miguel D´ Escoto, arrives this Tuesday to Cuba to present a book he authored and to meet with high-ranking officials of the dictatorship. In his recent trip to Bolivia, he delivered to Evo Morales a certification of "World Hero of the mother earth" and recognized both Morales and Fidel Castro as "World Heroes of Solidarity".

According to various official media reports, Cuban as well as Bolivian,, Miguel D´ Escoto said in Boliva that "Under my Presidency, the UN has begun to propose at new culture by praising the work of men like Fidel Castro, Evo Morales and the African leader Julius Neyrere, paradigms that embody virtues and values that we all should assume in order to survive". The recognition given to Castro and Morales is added to the posthumous title given to Neyere, to whom the president of the General Assembly of United Nations wishes to offer the posthumous title "father of African socialism" as well as "World Hero of Social Justice".

D´ Escoto has shown himself to be a fervent admirer of the Cuban dictator. He said in the ceremony dedicated to Morales that the UN offered the recognition to Fidel Castro "because he and all Cuba have shown to the world a commendable and supportive capacity that at times is not valued in its magnitude". This is the second occasion in which he visits the Island this year. In May he met with the older of the Castro brothers. On this occasion, besides meeting with leaders of the communist totalitarian state, the former Nicaraguan chancellor and liberation theologian will present his book "Antiimperialismo and not violence."

During his trip to Bolivia summed up indigenism when he said that Evo Morales "made a very important contribution to the revolutionary thought of the left by demanding respect of the rights of the earth, it is a contribution that previously had not been made through science, although scientists have now arrived at the same conclusions as our ancestors".

Extract from GORE BLIMEY's link:

"I remain indebted – I think all humanity remains indebted – to Fidel Castro, who has dedicated his life to the tireless practice and promotion of SOLIDARITY with oppressed people throughout the world. More than a hero, Fidel is as close to a saint as we can find in our troubled world."

We will now pause for DOUG B to appoligise.

Posted by: KHarn at September 8, 2009 3:16 PM

Its true in that matter that both Fidel and Hitler was incredibly intelligent, and there for "brilliant".
