Tell Me Which Side Is the Fringe Again?

A Whopping 12% of Americans agree with Jimmy Carter and the MSM that protests against ObamaCare are motivated by racist animosity toward the president.

Eighty-eight percent (88%) of Republicans reject the notion that most of the opponents are racist. So do 78% of voters not affiliated with either major party. However, just 39% of Democrats share that view. Twenty-two percent (22%) of those in the president’s party say that most of the opposition to his plan comes from racists, and another 39% are not sure.

Whoa, it sounds like one of the political parties is hugely out of step with the public on this one. Maybe this could be a "teachable moment" for the Democrats on race.

12% isn't that roughly the percentage of the black population?

Quelle surprise!

It is a sad hypocrisy that those that elected based on race and not character are complaining that attacks on the President are based on race and not character.

I agree with Anonymous... while I don't believe no white person said the opposition was motivated by racism, I have no problems believing that nearly all blacks said it was. It seems like a knee jerk reflex. As for you Pete, your comment is gold. A segment of the population that overwhelmingly elected Obama for his race and no character now complain the very same thing? How many black presidents must there be for them to start walking like men and remove the yoke of victim status?

Anon, Pete, and Jay B you are all correct. They are going to use the race card out of desperation. It's all they have left to use.

There cause of socialism is falling apart.

That won't happen until that 12% comes to understand that the party giving them a handout to remain as they are, while the mean old party of racists giving them a hand up only wants them to stand on their own two feet.

Posted by: IOpian at September 17, 2009 4:56 PM

whoops, deleted to much.

....handout to remain as they are may not have their best interest in mind, while....

Posted by: Iopian at September 17, 2009 4:59 PM

wow, that's a higher percentage than carter got in the 1980 elections against reagan(electoral college), win for carter?

Posted by: weewilly at September 17, 2009 5:19 PM

I think these results are skewed. Only 39% of democrats think opponents to Bozo The AssClown are racist. Me thinks that they forgot a 2. So it's 239% of democrats think opponents to Bozo are racist. You have to include dead people and and those that acorn registered. They get upwards of 70ish votes per person. Mix in liberal mathematics and bingo, 239%.

While it is unclear to me that a peanut farmer from Georgia, especially one responsible for runaway inflation and bungled military actions, is qualified to opine on the state of contemporary politics, it is nonetheless infuriating that former President Carter should choose to fan the flames of already overheated hysteria by flapping his gums about racism. He may have sinned in his heart and therefore feels free to question the motives of others, but has it ever occurred to him that some people--white and black--base their political judgments on principle, experience, and history?

I wonder if Carter would ascribe the animosity toward George Bush as class hatred.

In moonbat-math 12% is a vast majority - as long as that 12% agrees with their socialist agenda.

Just ask them.

RACISM! RACISM! YOU ALL ARE JUST RACISTS!

You do know that this intellectual breakdown on the part of the left is your surest indication that they realize they've lost the debate. They've been hammered, and they know it. Screaming racism is the last refuge of leftist intellectuals who've completely lost their mojo.

Ted,

yes, you are right. We forget that this is the reaction we see from individuals when in an argument; and now it is their collective response too.

I do not like Obama, and I do not like Carter either. The problem is not with Obama's blackness or with Carter's whiteness. The problem is with their redness, and I am talking about the red color of Communism.
I am truly tired of Obama trying to dupe us with his "common good" lies. I am tired of hearing Carter bashing America and Americans everywhere he goes.
If Communism and anti-Americanism are races, then I am a racist.

Time for the PEANUT EATER KID to get over being rejected by the voters in 1980 his bumbling was just too much and remember the AMY DEBATES and the VICUOUS KILLER WABBIT

Posted by: SPURWING PLOVER at September 17, 2009 9:06 PM

SPURWING - PETA should GET that peanut farmer for whooping a defenseless wabbit with a stick.

Cruel. Damn cruel.

It is a bit disturbing to me that 12% of the American population believes that opposition to socialized health care indicates a dislike of someone's skin colour.

Although it is interesting to note how inevitably the 'racist' meme is repeated all over the ainstream news whenever someone doesn't like something Obama does - Pavlov's dog would have been embarrassed by the modern left.

I hate Obama, but not because he's black.
I hate Barny Frank, but not because he's gay.
I hate Nancy Pelosi, but not because she's shriveled and stupid and a female.
I hate them because they are Marxist Assholes!
Sex,color have nothing to do with it. Behavior and philosophy are the only things that matter. The race card turns out to be a joker.
