Clearly, this evil hate monger is a racist.

So, we were discussing Sarah Palin the other day, and a startling number of people were standing up for her. And then this morning, I am reading about her eBay autioned charity dinner - where she wouldn't meet with anyone but a toadying sycophant.

The person who was winning that auction until Palin banned him was Ken Morris. Morris has subsequently posted an open letter offering $100,000 to that same charity if Palin would meet with a small group to discuss the issues of the day, on the record. The group would include leading conservative and progressive voices, and would simply talk. No rancor or hyperbole, just talk.

Now, killing off the winning bid because it would have been a real discussion instead of a PR opportunity is one thing... but if she is really a champion of the people (or whatever it is she is trying to portray herself as) she will clearly jump at this chance. Not just to raise that $100,000 for her charity, but also as an opportunity to show that she is capable of talking like someone with more than a 4th grade education.

Who has thoughts about how this will end?

My guess: Palin doesn't even contemplate it before declining. But I am curious to see who will turn up with alternate opinions...

Hey, if I didn't get my regular paycheck from the DNC to troll right wing hate sites like this one, I couldn't keep up my crack habit. I'm addicted to crack because I'm a victim of the MAN!

Posted by: Goatse Well-stoned at September 22, 2009 9:38 AM

No way she will do it - if she turns it down, the worst that happens is it turns up as an attck ad if she ever runs for office again ("Sarah Palin hates our troops - she turned down $100,000 for a dinner!"). BUT, if she does it.... well, we know what it looks like when she speaks aloud. That would CERTAINLY come back to bite her in the ass if she ever ran for anything again.

My 2 cents.

Ahh, I love it. I haven't been here in a week and some of you show you missed me by taking shots at someone who hasn't been here. So sweet of you.

"paycheck from the DNC", I wish. That would be grand. Almost as rich as the hypocrisy around here. When the right-wing fringe first began to "love America" they were supporting a war of choice and called the left "un-American" for protesting it. When fellow Americans made a public statement they banned and burned the music of country greats the Dixie Chicks. The right-wing chants "We Support the Troops",except those progressive ones at IVAW, Vote Vets or IAVA.

Now the tables are turned and the right-wing claims "I love America!" because they oppose the President, and the left is "un-American" for continuing to oppose a war of choice, support health care reform. You guys can't have it both ways.

Who's Sarah Palin?

And there's that annoying whine again, kinda like a gnat buzzing around someone's butthole. Where's that coming from?

Posted by: Jay Guevara at September 22, 2009 10:52 AM

Awww, be nice, Jay - it's Kyle's first day back.

Give him a chance to say something really off-the-wall.

at one of the healthcare rallies sponsored by moveon in this neck of the woods - as the forty or so people departed the hired bus, there was another person taking rollcall! they were PAID PROTESTERS! meanwhile...it was a hot day and the crew here showed up there enforce - outnumbered the moveon people two to one - our people crossed the road and offered them some bottled water!!! hot coals on the heads baby - yeah!

Posted by: nancz at September 22, 2009 10:55 AM

"why were y'all discussing Sarah Palin?"

There was some discussion of her 'qualifications' versus Obama - how one was smart and the other was not.

You may not have been a part of that little chat, but i notice that of the many who were, not one chimes in with a thought or 2 about her latest foray into the public sphere.

Par for the course - the flat-earth society is often like that. Complain about something until it turns out to be wrong, then just move on to another complaint.

Posted by: Szot at September 22, 2009 11:06 AM

Jay, I understand you get a little hot and bothered when I am around, but slow down.

So, can any of you explain how it is "more pro-America" to support Bush than say Clinton or Obama? You can't! Talk about an "annoying whine", you lost! And on a daily basis you demonstrate you can't deal with it.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 22, 2009 11:09 AM

Szot, I think the natives are realizing their Caribou Barbie is showing that she only shows up sometimes. Although, I will give her a pass on the Value Voters Summit, as her son was returning from Iraq. Who else they have, Beck?? He can't make it to an event he rallied, opposing Democratic spending yet, Bush spending he felt was "not enough", or how about Dancing Delay? Nope he's busy.

"facing up the fact that their president is a complete disaster."
Hmm, I seem to remember over 3,000 fellow Americans tragically dying by this time of the last President's first term. Talk about disaster!?

Palin is news, it is why she is still talked about. Her rants hardly scare anyone, other than neo-cons that believe in "death panels", which consequently was written by a Republican. I would also add, Levi is doing more damage to her reputation than she could ever do to the Democratic Party.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 22, 2009 11:47 AM

In view of the ACORN scandal, and after reading leftist attempts to defend ACORN on DU and elsewhere, I realized we need to update an addendum to our lexicon 1of liberal Esperanto.

A 1. They were all paid actors.

A 2. The tapes were doctored.

A 3. There's something fishy (left unspecified) about the tapes.

A 4. O'Keefe and Giles were kicked out of 5000 ACORN offices, including [all the ones not featured so far go here]. (This list subject to instant revision as soon as another tape is released.)

A 5. ACORN did a lot of good for poor people.

A 6. Some American group once had an overdue library book.

A 7. The ACORN employees were just messing with them.

A 8. The ACORN employees were fired.

A 9. Salvadoran girls mature very early, and besides, they like being sex slaves.

A10. Fox News has shown the tapes, proof positive that they're not believable.

A11. Every organization has its bad apples.

A12. Investigating ACORN is racist, because ACORN has at least one black person in it.

A13. Halliburton! (This one's getting pretty tired, so use it sparingly.)

A14. Bush!

A15. Palin!

A16. Limbaugh!

A17. Beck!

So how does this work in practice? To any insinuation that ACORN is corrupt (where would someone get that idea?), our stalwart liberal can then indignantly reply, "No! A12! A1 and A2, and A3 too! Besides, A5, A7, not to mention A8. Furthermore, A4 and A11, and you're overlooking A5. And besides, A10 and A6, not to mention A9. And in conclusion, A14-A17! So there!

See how that saves so much time and typing, not to mention thought? Also, citing arguments by the numbers makes it harder for Americans to realize that the liberals' arguments are often mutually exclusive. Consider "They were all paid actors, the tapes were doctored, they were just messing with them, and besides every organization has its bad apples and they were all fired." A four year old will recognize that this boils down to "I didn't kill him, and besides, it was self-defense." But if the liberal merely cites A1, A2, A7, A11, A8, it takes Americans longer to realize that they're simply throwing crap at the wall to see if any of it will stick.

Farmer Ted, I wouldn't even consider the point worth arguing, since even Wellstoned knows it's a lie. Further, it shows his intellectual dishonesty; the 3,000 killed by terrorists were Bush's fault. But the 2.2 million unemployed since January aren't Obama's fault. The $1.6 Trillion deficit isn't Obama's fault. And so forth...

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 22, 2009 12:10 PM

I am sure Christ would gleefully leap off the nearest bridge in order to disassociate himself with your holier-than-thou crap. All I can think of when my eyes are burned with the continual lack of quality content of your posts, is that another 4 minutes of my life could be potentially wasted should I make the mistake to read whatever you have written. You have dirty clothes, BO, bad breath, and I am quite confident that should one open your top dresser drawer, it would contain skid marked underwear. Your children will grow to be nothing more then felons or beggars due to their genetic lineage. Likely, even your car is a smog machine, and pollutes the earth like you pollute this site. You are a festering infected boil on the ass of humanity; with the apparent intelligence of an autistic gnat with downs syndrome. You are the type of weenie that causes people of mutilate themselves, trying to escape the emotional pain that people as worthless as you even exist. The fact that a man who can’t even grasp the insane hypocrisy that exists in your constant barrage of self-sainthood is allowed to vote is a fucking social calamity, and needs to be stopped. You cry like a woman, and you have a night-light to fend off boogie men. You dress in drag, and you listen to ABBA. I am guessing that early in life, Hitler encountered the Jewish version of “Ghost of Wellstone”, thus explaining his future actions. I wish you nothing less then painful pancreatic cancer. Stones in your shoes on long walks, and blisters on your ass as you sit down to shit. Sleepless nights, broken hearts, hurricane damage to your home, sadness, pain, misery, “Out of the Closet” outspoken homosexual children, traffic tickets, loss of loved ones, felony convictions for crimes you didn’t commit, weight gain, stubbed toes, sprained limbs, damage to the transmission of your car on the ONE DAY you really needed it, always having “something in your eye”, having to smell other peoples farts in elevators, long waits at traffic lights, getting laid off from your job, medical bills, having a squib load, then firing a round after it, holes in your socks, underwear that’s too tight, sexual impotence, limb amputation, or any other possible iniquitous event that could harm you as bad as your mere presence harms humanity as a whole. I believe elimination of inutile cocksuckers such as you could bring everyone on this planed of differing views together, for the sole purpose of your eradication. Funkendunkel, pretty funny stuff! Although, you likely spent more time on writing that, than the four minutes you claim to cherish by not reading my posts. Further, it is likely Jesus gave up on atheists a long time ago. Yet, the rest of the post, how Christian of you to type all of that stuff for me. Even an atheist worries about those hurricanes in Detroit. That river can be brutal.

Funny, how none of you can describe how it was "Patriotic" to cheer Bush, and "Patriotic" to discredit Obama. Oh yeah, and how American liberals are still "un-American"? Say in 2005 liberals were told by Limbaugh, "Go out and win something, then you can speak!!", well we did...twice. You cannot stand the fact that you are leaderless, you cannot stand the fact you lost. You might try organizing, w/o the Dick Armey, and insurance backers. It's easy. It was "patriotic" to cheer Bush (at least in some things) because, overall, he had our best interests at heart, even though he fell far short in implementation. It was a hard road, he did pretty well.

Likewise, it's very "patriotic" to attack maximum leader zero, and especially pull for his abject failure, because he is not an American in spirit, even IF he is one by birth, and he is an "enemy domestic" of the Constitution. He is doing everything in his power, and many things which are not, to undermine everything that makes this nation what it is. We have elected the enemey as president.

We are, in fact, doing pretty well at organizing, if you'd pull your head out of your ass and see the truth. Goatse you lose again.

Posted by: Dave at September 22, 2009 2:23 PM

Evilwench, nice try. You may want to look into PNAC. And I will admit, I have for the last year let up on Bush, as it becomes clear he didn't make alot of decisions. I misfired my anger at the wrong guy. Further, calling Obama "the enemy" is so ridiculous. There is quite a bit I disagree with, yet I do not for a second think he is the enemy. You claim Bush had a "hard road", well he spent and did not include the war spending, which Obama does. Yes, the number is greater. You may want to look into the campaign donations, and the interests of the likes of Demint, Amrey, Scott, Wilson, etc. You may then realize who has "our interests in mind"

Funkendunkel, ya know, I heard a story about a guy who once set a cat on fire, he died in a fire. Also, my guess is Jesus would leap off the cross to disassociate himself from your 9/12 madness.

Tony, it is not anti-Christian bigotry to be an atheist. I just happen to not believe in your spooks in the sky. Funny though, you'll criticize me for being a non-believer vs funkendunkels very anti-Jesus message. I choose not to follow Christ, but I was brought up in that household. Further, it is well known why we were attacked, repeatedly. Overseas and 9/11, it is more of this nonsense of 72 virgins, or "well, if I ask nice Jesus will forgive" Bullshit!

mostly crazy Muslim Saudis attacked on 9/11, then crazy Christians attacked another country. That makes sense, Huh?

Even when called on it, Wellstoned can't admit that IslamoNazis were reponsible for 9-11 without qualifying it with typical leftist equivalence.

Dave, read funkenjunkel's rant on me, then explain to me "respect" for God. Which, I am not a believer in, but rather an observer of others. On the God Wagon, you are the most rational, likely for the pet stuff. However, rational thought does not reflect well in "I hope you get pancreatic cancer"."spooks in the sky", is nothing but a mere reference to God, Allah, Buddah etc. My apologies.

Yet, I stand by my "crazy Christians then attacked another country".

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 22, 2009 6:46 PM

You got it, Ghost! A country that was hiding as well as helping Al Qaeda. What did you expect? Negotiations with these ass holes? Ghost your argument is very weak. Stop while your ahead before you get a thrashing.

Posted by: Dave at September 22, 2009 6:53 PM

Refuter, I don't know? Like any cult-like bs, they fell for the 72 virgins? But it is fact that we were attacked, then we invaded a country already starving since our last invasion and living under an SOB. "Global Jihad", "72 Virgins", "God wants people to be free", "God speaks to me"etc. To me it is nonsense and contradictory to the word many of you hold close to your hearts...including Muslims.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 22, 2009 6:55 PM

Haha don't even start on who sponsored which candidate; I wouldn't even want to be in the same species as those who would sponsor maximum leader zero. He is the enemy. There is no clearer way to say it. The enemy. Domestic he may be, but the enemy.

Now, how did that Dixie Chix thing work again? The libtard media shut them down? You really are delusional. That was a popular consumer reaction to their classlessness at an opportunity to show what they were made of. They weren't made of the stuff that provides constructive criticism, just lefty knee-jerk assholianism.

Damn, didn't miss this asshole while he was gone.

Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at September 22, 2009 6:57 PM

Wellstoned>>> Were they MUSLIMS, working on behalf of Global JIHAD? If so, I want you to tell us, here, "Yes, Muslims committed to global Jihad were responsible for 9-11."

"Refuter, I don't know?"
Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 22, 2009 6:55 PM

I REST MY CASE.

Posted by: Refuter of Liberal Vermin at September 22, 2009 6:57 PM

Dave, read the 9/11 Commission Report again. Saddam had nothing to do with training, hiding, or aiding Al Qaeda. That was debunked and proven. Saddam was a bastard, but he was our bastard, we could have taken him out without bombing the shit out of innocent people. Further, we would not have had the American casualties and record military suicides.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 22, 2009 6:59 PM

No NO NO Ghost,

Have respect for those that believe.

I take offence referring to my GOD as a "spook".

Apology accepted.

Thanks.

RE:Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 22, 2009 6:33 PM

A typical Wellstonian retort: "Tony, it is not anti-Christian bigotry to be an atheist. I just happen to not believe in your spooks in the sky. Funny though, you'll criticize me for being a non-believer......"

Niice.....so first you say you're not a bigot, then you insult Christians, Jews, et al with some broad statement about "spooks".

Not everybody here on Moonbattery is Christian, you know.

In your case, though, it fits the Liberal template - you think you're "too smart" to believe in anything outside of what you can see, while all the time denouncing the rest of us as being "closed-minded", or some similar such nonsense.

Posted by: TonyD95B at September 22, 2009 7:01 PM

Spook? Racist!

Posted by: Jay Guevara at September 22, 2009 7:02 PM

"believe in anything outside of what you can see"
Tony, that is generally referred to as science. Ok, here is a broad apology for the "spooks in the sky" remark. For thousands of years we have had mythology, religion et al praying to something. It was a joke, sorry. Most tend to look up when praying or searching...hence spook in the sky.

Posted by: Anonymous at September 22, 2009 7:05 PM

So what Kyle is saying here is that the "Reverends" Jackson, Sharpton, Wright, et al, and President Obama and his family believe in "Spooks In The Sky"?

Jeez......

Posted by: TonyD95B at September 22, 2009 7:06 PM

Tony, yeah, that's it.

Here is another time that I will agree with you on an issue but it is my belief that we should have gone after Iran first.

We could have taken Baghdad via Tehran.

BTW, I was referring to Afghanistan.

Posted by: Dave at September 22, 2009 7:08 PM

Dave, going into Iraq was a mistake. Historically Afghanistan is a bigger mistake, one which Obama and Bush should have known better. Iran's terrain spells out another disaster. Allowing the nonsense to take place there, I agree with you, take them out. But, not at the cost it is costing us in lives and money, not to mention the civilian lives. Clinton did not take out Osama bin Laden because the opportunity that presented itself would have also taken out thousands of innocent lives.

That said, he is dead. They are leaderless for the most part. What we have now politically in the U.S. is nothing more than the GOP saying, "if it's a Republican blowing shit up...ok" "If it's a Dem, well he's making a mistake!" For once I actually agree on the latter. As does Bernie Sanders, Kay Baily Hutchinson, Boehner, Kucinch etc.

Iran however, would be a huge error in judgement.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 22, 2009 7:18 PM

Well Ghost I guess we agree that the Moooslim leadership in Iran is bat shit crazy, right?
We can't let these idiots have nukes, end of story. Obama is going to appease these crazy shits? Yep. Will he stand by Israel? NOPE! I think you understand where I'm going with this.

Obama is to weak and preoccupied to make the right decisions.

Klebba, I know you actually believe the things you say being a good neo-communist and all. But we invaded Iraq because of the events which led to the UN resolutions that culminated in UN resolution 1441, these events caused by Iraq and violating and thus ending the cease-fire agreement of the Gulf War, also, as President Bush said "to give teeth to the United Nations," and so to prevent further hostilities.

I think, [my surmise], he was told by his friends in the UN and various countries that were making money off the UN Food For Oil scam that he didn't have anything to worry about and he stupidly believed them. Little did he know that Bush says what he means and means what he says.

In response to my statement about faith; i.e. "...believe in anything outside of what you can see", we get a typical Liberal response of: "Tony, that is generally referred to as science."

No, Kyle - it's not.

Science is defined as:

1) A branch of knowledge or study dealing with a body of facts or truths systematically arranged and showing the operation of general laws: the mathematical sciences.

2. Systematic knowledge of the physical or material world gained through observation and experimentation.

3. Any of the branches of natural or physical science.

4. Systematized knowledge in general.

5. Knowledge, as of facts or principles; knowledge gained by systematic study.

6. A particular branch of knowledge.

7. Skill, esp. reflecting a precise application of facts or principles; proficiency.

I think you are mistaking "Science" for "Global Warming", or some other article of Letterman-Loving Lying Loopy Loony Lobotomized Leftist Lowlife Loser faith.

No, Kyle - Science isn't based on faith. By definition it most definitely is in the realm of that which we can see....

Dirty Dave Sucks Up to Blathering Obama

Dave Letterman, best known of late for his lascivious comments about Sarah Palin and her underage daughters, hosted President Obama Monday night.

He provided a fawning, unfettered forum, devoid of substantive challenges with an audience selectively stuffed to the brim with Obama worshippers for the president to ramble on with his usual, misleading tripe about Obamacare and his deep concern for the billions of poor, (at last count), uninsured amongst us.

As an interview, it failed miserably. Dirty Dave, who still constantly lashes out at Sarah Palin for exposing his latent pedophilia, played a pale Ed McMahon to Obama’s Johnny Carson, with Dave skillfully setting up Obama up for his lines as if it was all unrehearsed.

At a loss for what to say without appearing to criticize Obama, Letterman’s patented “Top Ten List of Reasons Why President Obama Agreed to Appear on the Show” included just one overt, political jibe: “2. Said yes, without thinking, like Bush did with Iraq.”

Poor Dave is suffering with George Bush out of office and no opportune moments to present more slanted “Great Moments in Presidential History” so he and his writers are reduced to outdated potshots.

He could always ridicule any of Obama’s multiple and regular screw-ups, such as his claim to have campaigned in all 57 states or his most recent flub of confusing his daughter, Malia, with his African step-sister, Maya, but let’s get real.

Satire must be P.C. selective. Bush was fair game, Obama is sacrosanct.

I thought I would offer my own “Top Ten Reasons Why President Obama Agreed to Appear on the Show:”

10. He knew Dave would throw only softball questions probably approved in advance.

9. He knew Letterman idolizes him and has never tossed snide remarks in his direction.

8. He knew he wouldn’t be asked any questions that required thought, such as George Stephanopoulis’ Sunday query on what constitutes a tax.

7. He knew Dave was well-insured and wasn’t likely to hit him up for a loan to pay medical bills.

Waiting in the Wings, Slavery “Reparations:”PartOne

With all the sturm und drang, in a word, the uproar sweeping the nation over health care, national defense, taxes, illegals, make no mistake that another storm and more stress are a-brewing and will be visited on Americans if and when the current storms subside: reparations for slavery.

Reparations are the raison d’être for powerful Michigan Democrat, Rep. John Conyers, second longest-serving House member and currently Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

For the inquisitive, such posts are awarded on the basis of seniority and longevity and Black pols who bring home the chittlins tend to be re-elected ad infinitum.

Think Reps. John Dingell, (D. MI), and Charley Rangel, (D. NY).

One has to wonder if that system should be changed when career minority politicians are effectively governing the majority of Americans, but that’s just an aside.

Rep. Conyers has dedicated his life to seeking reparations and was un-deterred in that goal even after his wife, Monica, pled guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery in June.

Monica may be facing 5 years in the slammer, http://bit.ly/Batmq, but there are some things more important in life than bribery convictions or various charges of unethical activities against hubby, John.

Foremost is forcing White Americans in the twenty-first century to compensate Black Americans living in this century for cultural sins committed by White, and Black, Americans in the form of slavery, from the sixteenth though the nineteenth centuries. . .

Posted by: Berlet98 at September 23, 2009 12:29 AM

Slavery was merely a "cultural sin"?

I suspect it's talk like that which leads people like Rep. Conyers to say that we, as a nation, haven't put our history of slavery behind us yet.

I skipped all the troll stuff here, but Jay, your list of A1 to A17 is spot on. I was reading the DUmpster and read it all in the flesh. Unbelievable how they were echo-chambering all those dumb defenses. A few lone voices chimed in to say "How can you defend these assholes?" But they were clearly in a 5% minority.

Ooooops Minority! RAAAAAAAACISTSSSSS!!!!!!111
