Absolutely histerical. "Family values" GOP assemblyman caught saying this? I keep telling you flat-earth society types that 'science' will get you in trouble!

I love it.

Where's the artifical outrage? I'm waiting...

Posted by: Szot at September 9, 2009 1:50 PM

Szot,

Lapse of judgment yet he should still be held accountable for his absolute hypocrisy.

Remember that Van Jones guy? He didn't apologize for his blatant anti-American words and instead blamed the right for running a "smear campaign."

You, sir, are scrapping for garbage to justify your sides pitiful record of hypocrisy, lies, and corruption.

We don't discriminate by party... when someone does something out of line, we chastize them equally.

Posted by: AmericanToTheCore at September 9, 2009 2:02 PM

Yes, we don't deny there are R's with human failings, but when they're caught, they typically know what to do, or it's done for them. The rats? Not so much.

Scary Thought: Obama Has Eco-Marxist Take on Taxes

The Eco-Marxists like Holdren and, presumably, Obama, do not believe that. (Personnel is policy, the old adage goes.)

They do not concede that wealth-destruction is a bad thing which must be mitigated and/or sharply limited.

For them, wealth destruction simply for the sake of wealth destruction is a positive good. Because the less economic activity there is, the less carbon dioxide. (And, if we have a really good famine and a mass die-off, a lot less carbon dioxide -- the lightning round bonus points!)

A liberal is against the reduction of wealth, all other things being equal.

But for the Eco-Marixst, the reduction of wealth is a boon in its own right.

Remember that Obama spoke casually of deliberately causing electricity prices to "skyrocket." Why? To make economic activity and, frankly, joy in life a more expensive proposition, and ergo reduce such things through the discouragement of very high prices.

Posted by: Anonymous at September 9, 2009 2:15 PM

Ah, more double standards for Mr. Duvall. Sleeping with and performing "kinky acts" with energy lobbyists, not to mention all parties involved are married. This one is my new favorite...
"when they're caught, they typically know what to do" Really? Where is David Vitter? Mark Sanford? John Ensign? Larry Craig? Further, again, it is not Democrats preaching "Family Values"!

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 9, 2009 2:29 PM

RE: Posted by: Szot at September 9, 2009 1:50 PM

Assemblyman Mike Duvall of Yorba Linda was more involved in business and infrastructure issues than anything else.....I don't see any mention of "family values" anywhere, except maybe in the feverish and delusional minds of Letterman-Loving Lying Loopy Loony Lobotomized Liberal Leftie Losers like Szot.

http://republican.assembly.ca.gov/member/72/

I guess the "Family Values" tagline goes onto anyone the Left catches with thier pants down.......except of course former President Clinton (an accused rapist known for being a serial sexual harasser), or the late Senator Kennedy, who actually killed someone under very questionable circumstances and became Democratic "royalty". While we're at it, let's not forget Barney Frank and all of his shady behavior, including having a homosexual "lover" running a homo prostitution ring out of one of Barney's properties.

Democrats do things that are actually illegal and get a pass.....have an "R" following your name and you will be held to an entirely different standard.

And, that's a good thing. As AmericanToTheCore says at 2:02, "We don't discriminate by party... when someone does something out of line, we chastize them equally."

The Left thinks it can weaken the Right by using the Cloward-Piven strategy of holding us to our own standards......what they do not realize is that by helping root out the RINOs they are doing us a favor.

Plus, the Dems over at the HuffPo were strangly torn by the whole thing.......all that talk about spanking and deviance left Ariana and her cultists strangely aroused. It is, after all, Kalifornia.

Posted by: TonyD95B at September 9, 2009 2:39 PM

Reminds me of what ross Perot used to say about former President Clinton: "If his wife can't trust him, should you?"

Awww.......why can't we JUST MOVE ON!!!!!!

Posted by: TonyD95B at September 9, 2009 2:43 PM

Ha Tony, he repeatedly was endorsed by your ilk in California. The Capitol Resource Institute, which is certainly not a liberal think tank. It is issues like this that make your party a joke, yet at least he had the decency to resign, unlike many others.

Kyle - Using your rationale, I should stop being pro-law enforcement just because we occasionally have an officer go bad.

Nope - the exception does not make the rule. No sale here, Welly.

Posted by: TonyD95B at September 9, 2009 2:57 PM

Typically, yes. Absolutely, of course not. We can list some pretty egregious offences by rats, where the party circles the wagons, and they're re-elected ad infinitum. Mary jo Kopechne ring any bells?

Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at September 9, 2009 3:02 PM

Goatse, tell us why double standards are okay for the Demonrats?

Because maybe there are no double standards since pedophilia, and other sick depraved sex acts by Demonrats are normal behavior?

Posted by: Doug at September 9, 2009 3:07 PM

Why Doug, how did you know?

And tell me, how did you hijack my URL again?

That's my home page, not my work site.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 9, 2009 3:09 PM

Tony, no my rationale is not saying that at all. What I am saying is, while GOP party faithful "party" in a fashion you deem "deviant", they ought to have the decency to step down, which this guy has. However, I was mostly responding to evilwrench nonse comment that Republicans "typically know what to do". That is hysterical! Then all of the sudden he is a "RINO"? C'mon!

Now Evilwench wants to go back to Mary Jo Kopechne, and Doug wants to likely make a Barney Frank reference? Right? What no Edwards or Spitzer tirades? Nope, they stepped aside. I will repeat, Democrats are not the ones preaching "Family Values!!!"

Health Care News and Horrors

The BIG Push is on! The obamanetworks, the obamamedia, and the obamablogosphere are all out there “explaining” and exposing the “myths” of Obamacare to the ignorant peasantry to save national healthcare and Obama’s presidency and legacy.
AARP is into the fray big time and its September issue of the AARP Bulletin features no less than 5 articles on Obamacare, including a 4000 word, 3 page spread entitled, “The Hype, the Lies, the Facts,” according to the AARP.

As we wait expectantly on the eve of Obama’s much-anticipated, prime time Obamacare address to both houses of congress and to the nation, it’s worthwhile to review some recent healthcare news.

The underlying precept of any socialist society or socialistic enterprise is that government knows best. When it comes to Obamacare, a young, healthy, and independent sort who, for whatever reason, feels he or she doesn’t want health insurance, tough!

In a free society one should be free to make that call, no? Well, yes and no.

Implicit in Obamacare is the philosophy that we’re too ignorant to make that decision. Therefore, you would be “free” to opt out but you’ll have to pay for that privilege, pay up to $3800 in fines, per annum, to Washington to be precise: http://bit.ly/QP5OF.

Those charges would be contrary to candidate Obama’s pledge not to impose fines on recalcitrants. However, what’s a pledge when the nation’s well-being is at stake?

It’s understandably a healthcare newsy kind of time.

House GOP Leader John Boehner puts the lie to Obama’s expressed wish for bi-partisanship in passing the most significant legislation in decades. TheHill.com is reporting that Boehner says the president hasn’t met with GOP leaders in over 4 months to discuss “common ground” on healthcare: http://bit.ly/2hmHw.

The fix is obviously in. The ploy of “reconciliation,” a misnomer for shoving a bill through congress without debate or opposition input, will undoubtedly be invoked in order to pass Obamacare with 51 rather that 60 votes in the Senate.

Meanwhile, Obama’s numbers continue their freefall into oblivion. Disapproval on his handling of the health issue has plummeted from 43% to 52% since July, a figure complemented by a rise of 7 percent in his overall approval rating in that same period: http://bit.ly/zKaIV

His only chance to apply the skids is to get some form of Obamacare passed and fast and then move on to trying his hand at governing rather than campaigning. Regrettably, Americans have short memories and people won’t wake up to the full impact until after the 2010 and, hopefully, the 2012 elections.

Across the Pond in Merry Ol’ England, they’ve been waking up for a good while now as to the horrors of their vaunted NHS, the UK’s National Health Service. . . .

Didn't think so. Lying sack of shit.

http://mediamatters.org/blog/200909090042

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 9, 2009 4:00 PM

Wellstone's Gonads, do you seriously think Fox will drop Beck? Really? #2 and climbing to the top, and you think they'll let him go? Maybe to recruit Olbermann? Madcow?
As to the USPS, I saw one of their ads on Beck today, so if they just advertise on Fox, Fox can slot them wherever they want.
And Mediamatters? Bwahahahahahaha.

Posted by: UpNorth at September 9, 2009 4:07 PM

It is Colors of Change press release. I never stated they would drop him, he will be their loss leader. Further, it is apparent you know nothing of the ad world. If a client books a certain number of slots to reach a demographic, they can state where those ads are placed, or they will drop the network. So, no, Fox does not get to slot them wherever they like. I do not doubt you saw a commercial for USPS today, the press release was today.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at September 9, 2009 4:15 PM

Oh, Color of Change press release. I take back all I said. If they said it, it has to be true!!! They would have no reason to lie. And, yeah I do have some knowledge of advertising. If a client wants to advertise, but don't want to spend the big bucks for specific time slots, they get slotted where they get slotted. Some will drop Beck, if they're spending the big bucks and feel the lefties are all over them, or in the case of Progressive Ins. or Geicko, or some of the others, they cave to the moonbat left because they belong to the moonbat left. I'm sure that Fox is looking first at ratings, they can still find advertisers to slot there. Or they can carry him and let the advertisers pay while they advertise elsewhere on Fox.
You suffer from the same elite snobbery that all lefties do, if someone disagrees with you, they "know nothing" of anything.
And who is surprised that the USPS would do the lefties bidding?

GoW: you guys are just circle-jerking yourselves about that boycott. Nothing wrong with a circle jerk, as long as you know what it is. I mean, seriously, you do understand that the incredibly popular Glen Beck, a money-printing machine in human form, the second most popular personality on all of cable TV and headed toward #1, is not going to so much as bother flicking this boycott off like a flea resting on his shoulder, right? That FoxNews is not going to cancel beck because a bunch of noisy pot-banging hippies got 62 of the 2,000 companies in the Fortune 2000 to temporarily suspend advertising until the hippies go back to their bongs and forget about it. You get that?

The leftist drone Goatse is desperate, mega. Beck's popularity continues to grow. His show pulls in huge ratings, his books spend weeks at #1 on the best seller lists, and even obscure books he recommends start selling in massive numbers. Yet Goatse feels compelled to drop in here to announce that, oh horrors, Ashley Furniture and Wyeth Consumer Health Care are going to boycott Beck's show, which they never advertised on anyway.

We're laughing at you, Goatse. You and "Color of Change" are like kittens hissing, trying to be intimidating.

Two Soldiers Killed Trying to Rescue NYT Reporter In Afghanistan

Any NYT reporter captured should not be rescued. When you have a newspaper that has betrayed this country and put soldiers' lives in danger by reporting national secrets, and you work for them, sorry you can die.

Certain reporters, starting with those from the NYT can be left to rot. Obviously, the military will never come out and say that publicly, but that should be SOP for any of the treasonous bastards that have undercut our brave soldiers for years now.

Oh, you say you are being held hostage by terrorists? I thought you said that there was no such thing!!! "Freedom fighters, you called them." Well enjoy your "freedom" now you scum.
